    Surface water temp below the dam was 58 by one of the islands on Monday late morning at Lake Springfield.

    Went out in the yak this morning on Lake Springfield. Ended up sprinkling on me. Not in the forecast. Now I'll know to bring wet weather gear with me even when it's not supposed to rain. Talked to others out there and the fish were not biting today. Surface water temp 57 deg. Used nedrig and suspended jerkbait. No fish. One of the guys out there is the co-owner of Billyneck food station, a food truck in Battlefield, MO. Great food and he loves to fish. Shameless plug.

    Water temperature on Lake Springfield was 52 around 5pm. It's warming up a little but still not much happening out there yet.

    Lol. Thanks guys I won't give up just yet. Probably best to wait for more favorable conditions and use the kayak.

    Off the bank. I'm gonna wait for the water to warm up some before I go out in the kayak again. Took the kids to Lake Springfield Monday and went to Fellows Tuesday. Got skunked both times. I'm just not that good of a fisherman. . .yet.

    Fellows lake temp was 40 around sunrise and 46 later in the morning.

    P.S. Water clarity was at around 2 feet. A lot clearer than it has been this winter. And Barbie rod n reels don't float. I'm going to try bank fishing at Fellows for the first time tomorrow.

    The water temperature by the peninsula with the fishing docks on Lake Springfield was 46 degrees around 4:30 or 5:00 today. Does anybody know if they ever release warm water from the plant anymore? And if they don't why not?

    I think Lake Springfield is 5hp gas engine limit but you're right no real boat ramps anymore there. Welcome to Springfield area!
