  1. If say probably any weekend between now and end of October
  2. Thinking of planing a one day trip to fish the white river any tips will be in a jet boat spinning tackle near cotter any tips would be great.
  3. I knew that they didn't do well in warm water I was like everybody else I guess colder air made me think it was time to catch them
  4. Get a trapper
  5. I like seeing them so dose my grandpa he set up a few boats around here back in the 60s with gas lights to I've got a smaller jonboat I've toyed around with the idea of putting gas lights on but never have weather permitting we go at least once a week all season and it's usually just hook on to the jet boat and hit the river.
  6. You don't see many gas lights any more I use led lights now it's nice when it's quite and really bright.
  7. Yes you can I run 3 led lights off two batteries but you could get away with one I've got about 20,000 lumans of light output and no generator
  8. Thanks for the help I'm going to try and fish it one of these days
  9. Can anyone give me any tips on Muskie fishing on Fellows Lake it's starting to get cooler weather which I know means it's a good time to fish for muskie. And my boat has a 60 40 jet drive title as a 40 and says 40 on it I know that fellow has a 40 horsepower maximum but how do they feel about jet boats?
  10. I have done it in a 14 ft jon boat the problem when you get above the Confluence of the Finley River is that there's a lot of shelf Rock which can do a lot of damage to an aluminum boat when I went and water was at a little higher level so we didn't have much of a problem but with lower water levels I would think you would have to carry down over quite a few shelves up that way. I have a jet drive on my boat and last winter during gigging season I made it all the way up to Wilson's Creek above Delaware town. But you guys are right the water is pretty skinny up that way
  11. Less than a month until gigging season opens
  12. You aren't supposed to take out there people do you will probably be fine though if you don't want to take out there you can take out at the Hawkins bridge it's a little further down but not much
  13. Gigs are the best.
  14. Put in at hl Kerr today and ran up above Indian tree golf course. Water is clearing up pretty well visibility is abou 3.5 to four feet . We where Catching smallmouth in shallow riffles around big rocks with 3 inch grubs and white flukes. They where putting up some good fights today
  15. I'm not saying I would keep them but I'm saying people are doing it right now and it's legal. I was asking why spring creek was not included if they are the same fish.
  16. That's a pretty good fish is the water clearing up well.
  17. There is no difference on crane and spring creek look at the map above springcreek enters below the blue ribbon area and holds wild trout has for many years but you can keep four of them.
  18. That was kinda my question in crane creek you are allowed 1 fish at 18 inches but take a little jog down the road and you can catch the same rare mccloud trout but you can keep four at any length.
  19. Why is Spring creek near Hurley not included dose the MDC not know about them
  20. Thinking about fishing a river tournament on the gasconade this June but I don't know much about it. I plan to come up and fish it /check out holes and such but I know that guys on here probably can give out some tips and set me in the right direction.thanks guys
  21. I like to fish a rebel crawdad crank bait smallmouth and goggle eye love them.
  22. That's a fact it's a good time even if you don't get any fish
  23. Went on my final gigging trip of the season yesterday. Had a great year gigged lots of fish but left even more still swimming saw lots of catfish smallmouth and large mouth time so clean up the boat now and get out the rod and reels and the trout line
  24. I have the 1752 blazer I use it to gig and fish the James with it love it if I was on a larger body of water more say if your boat is mostly a bass boat I might go with an 1860 I'd ask around I bought my boat at troutt and sons go talk with them tell them what you want to do and the will get you in the right boat.
  25. As far as getting a boat is recommended either a blazer or a southfork for outboard and depending on what you use the boat for I'd say a 1752 with a 60/40 jet I wouldn't go more than a 90/65 jet. If you get a new one the four stroke jets are very quite not anything like the old two strokes. As far as shallow water yes they are a game changer in swift shallow water it will take you places that a prop motor can't and with the right size motor you will have the power to run up very swift water that a small prop motor could never do.
