  1. Thanks for comments. We attempted to repeat yesterday's success but found much smaller fish. Still got a number of bites but nothing keeper size. My wife broke her line on what we think was a gar - good amount of weight and pressure, but line snapped near the boat.
  2. My wife and I caught a variety of fish this morning on both Ned's rig (Green Pumpkin) and Plastic Lizards (Green Pumpkin) fish Texas rigged. We caught both largemouth and smallmouth on the lizards and had constant action until almost Noon. Most fish hit the lizards soon after casting into water 3 to 5 foot deep near timber and brush piles. Areas fished weren't far from point 9.
  3. Etiquette seems to be a thing of the past to a good many people. Not all, but even one who ignores common sense etiquette is too many. Had a similar incidence in Florida years ago when were we fishing for crappie with our daughter. We were catching some fish, not a lot, when another boat came in so close I could have stepped out of mine and into his. I went to far as to ask him why he felt the need to fish right on top of us, and he said it's a free lake and I can fish wherever I want. With that we left. On Table Rock I'm utterly amazed at the number of boats that will buzz a guy fishing when there is more than enough room to get around him/her.
  4. Was this on Table Rock? Can you give me a general idea of what you were fishing and what baits/lures you were using. Sounds like overall you had a great time. That is one nice walleye - the 27 incher. Thanks for the report.
  5. Thanks for the update Bill. With this record heat the lake is changing rapidly. We had been doing well in the evenings using ned's rigs catching nice keeper sized smallies that we were either inhaling the bait or slamming it really hard on both points 9 and 10. We stayed off the lake over the weekend due to boat traffic and heat.
  6. While I currently own a Nitro (my second) I've heard a lot of bad complaints about how cheaply these boats are made. I also heard that once BP bought Cabela's that 80 engineers and such that built Ranger boats quit as they want nothing to do with Mr. Morris and BP. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out especially for us the consumers. Thanks for the comments and feedback. I completely agree about the stock in the Cabela's store in Rogers. I've been twice and have been disappointed both times.
  7. Not good - Cabela's was always a step up the ladder from Bass Pro. This is going to hurt the business in my opinion. I'll start dealing with the local suppliers like Extreme Outdoors in Branson West for everything.
  8. Awesome Day - it doesn't happen often but when it does it's memorable.
  9. Nice report. I often wondered if fishing a Texas Rigged worm would work on Table Rock. I used it almost exclusively while living in Texas and Florida. Has anyone tried a plastic lizard? Just wondered how those might work versus the plastic warm. Thanks again for the report. You had an awesome couple of hours just by changing baits. It pays to be flexible.
  10. Thanks again for noting that Baxter was a great area to fish Bill. We went there this morning after the fog lifted and caught 10 bass in 90 minutes. Four of the 10 were keepers and all were caught on Ned's rigs in the dirt color. Most of the bass this morning either inhaled the bait soon after it hit the water or followed it half way to the boat before taking it.
  11. A big thanks Bill. As most of you are aware, Mr. Babler is one of the top guides on Table Rock. My family and I have used him numerous times to learn the lake and always have a great trip.
  12. Thanks for the report. We have had our best luck on Ned's Rigs as well though primarily with the Dirt Color. Limited success on the swim bait regardless of depth fished. Our problem has been finding keeper fish. Thanks again for the report.
