  1. Does anyone know if the lake is real muddy? I called the Core office and they said only ramps open are Roark, Cedar Ridge, Masters and the ramp on RB Road. Roark is limited. The lake level when I call was 883, normal is 857. Was thinking of trying tomorrow out of Roark, but not sure if water to muddy .
  2. I am guessing at least 12 ft, this rain is just crazy
  3. Had a pretty good day, came home with 9 crappie and 1 21inch walleye. Flicker shads and bagley’s in water 10 ft to 15 to 20ft. Put in at roark, water temps were 62-65. Hope others had success today.
  4. Thanks for the information, much appreciated! Will continue trolling for them, thanks again.
  5. Anyone catching them up on the banks in brush? Only have seen people catching them trolling. Caught some that way last week, headed down in the morning, was just curious if spawn has started, thx
  6. I launched there yesterday. You may have to get your feet wet, but it was ok to launch, just looks odd with no boat dock st the launch bays
  7. Put in at old state park, water was extremely clear, could see down about 8 ft. Water temp was anywhere from 58-63. We had no luck anywhere, caught s small walleye and 1 crappie up in brush on a jig. Hope others had much better luck than us. Was surprised how clear the water was, but was very high
  8. Does anyone know what the lake is like around old state park? Ha the muddy water made it all the way to that area?
  9. Nice job on the crappie! I was hoping to make it up this weekend, boat has been in the shop and get it back this week, many dollars later 😒. Am afraid all this rain is going to mess up the lake. A lot of rain here last few days.
  10. It will be a few weeks before I head back to lake again, warm weather will hopefully help. Am heading south myself end of month to Lake Fork in Texas. Hope to have some luck down there !
  11. Put in at Roark, water was murky, 41. Fished multiple brush piles with no success. Warmest water found was 41 up by powelibe cove, water was clear. Went up to dam area, water 38 and very clear. Had no luck anywhere, not even a nibble. Hope others did better than us, very discouraging day yo say the least
  12. I see the lake has gone up about 2 ft this week, is it muddied up some?
  13. Can anyone tell me what the water is like after the rain this week? I am an hour south west of Stockton and the rivers and creeks are up and muddied up a bit. Has the rain muddied up the lake any? Wanting to head up Saturday and fish Roark area. Any lake info much appreciated. Thx
  14. Put in at Roark around 9 am, water temp was 36 in cove. Brought home 26 crappie. Caught them over main lake brush pile, 26 ft-30 ft on electric chicken and baby shad color Bobby garlands. Was a very nice day on the lake, not many boats out, great weather for first of February! Hope others had sucess today to.
  15. Put in at Roark as many did today and ended up catching about 50 crappie, unfortunately most were shorts. Brought home 12 keepers. Caught them in 20-30 ft over brush on mostly monkey milk color, some on electric chicken. Was a nice day on the water, small fish are better than none! Hope others had better luck with the keepers.
  16. Good job! I tried it today with no luck, got them on Saturday, but not today. How deep and what did you get them on? Merry Christmas to you and yours!
  17. Great job!
  18. Sounds like you had a good day. Good job👍
  19. Thanks for the tip! Will check it out
  20. Yes I have seen a lot more brush piles that are not marked, the lake is just full of them! I have only been fishing Stockton a few years, so still trying to figure it out.
  21. Thanks for the information, I was not aware the lines meant moving fish , I just thought was junk in the water! I have watched several of your videos and that you use spoons, I have tried binks spoons but not had any luck as of yet. I know they will catch fish but still a puzzle to me. What type of rod and line do you use for them? Thanks again for sharing information about electronics, I am still learning!
  22. Thanks for the information. I am still trying to figure out all the imaging etc on the garmins. For as much as I have invested in them I need to become an expert at them, lol. Getting the brush pile gps points loaded on my lake map has made a big difference in my success in finding the crappie for this winter. Being able to go from pile to pile picking up some at each brush pile is the best thing since sliced bread! Not all piles produce , but sat on 1 a week ago and caught close to 50 off it. Not all keepers, but a lot of fun. Hope you get your boat going soon. They say the best days in a boat owners life is the day they buy it and sell it!
  23. Sounds like you had a good day, good job!
  24. I have been told that walleye appear as a curve, bow shape on sonar. I have seen a lot of these on my garmin, and that crappie will just appear as blips due to size. I am still learning how to get all the benefits from my sonar. Have side and down imaging on them to. Any advice on them would be greatly appreciated

    Good day

I wanted to add a thank you to those in other posts that shared about how to get brush pile markers added to the lake map on my garmin. It was $10 well spent to take it to Springfield and have it done. Knowing the brush pile locations has been a game changer for me, have found several that continue to produce fish in just a few trips. I would encourage any who can do this to give it a try. Thanks again to those that suggested it in past posts.
