  1. Wouldn’t expect to find them on bluffs this time of year! Were the bluffs in the middle of the lake or at least by the mouth of creeks or spawning pockets? Sounds like a fun day, congrats!
  2. The smile on her face makes it all worth it. Surprised about the Shad spawn. Expected that mid May. Happy to hear a top water bite going on though.
  3. Awesome day, congrats! The striper on light tackle would be a heck of a fight. I caught a 15# striper two weeks ago on a rock crawler and thought I had on a whale. Do you think the 6# leader makes a difference as opposed to 8? I go back and forth using braid to flouro vs. straight flouro. I sometimes wonder if they get spooked by the bright braid even with a leader.
  4. I didn’t know If the bluegill moved up before or after the crappie. Didn’t measure them but they were pretty big and definitely eating size. Caught on crappie jigs.
  5. Good idea! He’s got em figured out on Beaver
  6. The wife and I went out today for shallow crappie. Third weekend in a row. Mid-lake area. Areas I’ve caught them in past years. Casting to the bank and out to about 10’. Wife caught one crappie and otherwise just a bunch of big bluegill and small bass. Did get one nice smallmouth in the boat though. So confused why I haven’t found a decent crappie bite. Hope everyone else is doing better!
  7. Thanks for the report, I went out yesterday hoping the crappie would be around the bank. Quickly realized that wasn’t the case. Fished out to about 10 ft, gave up and went bass fishing. Wonder how long it will be until they finally move up.
  8. Hey, SON, you better go fishing!
  9. This is how I feel when I see striper guides on FB showing off their catch back at the dock. And in those, there are a few really nice bass bc the 80 lbs of striper wasn’t enough meat.
  10. Do they do actual fiberglass work? I know they are great at detailing and installation but haven’t seen any fiberglass repairs.
  11. That’s the kind of fishing report I like! If only I could get lottery numbers announced in advance as well
  12. Thanks, will check them out. I suggest brining wading shoes and leaving your boat at the dock like you told me to! Saw Wolfe boat works online. If anyone has a review please let me know!
  13. Launched from Indian today to find some cleaner water. On the way back I beached my boat to the left of the ramp bc the dock is away from the shore. Unknown to me, a huge rock was sitting just under the surface about 4’ from the shore. Hit the side of my boat pretty hard. Anyone have recommendations for good repair folks in NWA? I may go back to tin after this one.
  14. I haven’t been up there in a while maybe I’ll try that end. Could have a little color after the rain too. Don’t need the dock anyway since I have two power poles and the only use I ever have for them is beaching the boat
  15. Wow, doesn’t sound like fun launching from there. Maybe I should go to beaver but I wanted to catch fish too lol
  16. Anyone know if Big M ramp would be usable tomorrow? Curious how blown out the lake is. Hope it’s fishable
  17. Beautiful fish, nice job!
  18. Sorry to hear that, but it’s definitely the right call. The main thing isn’t the tournament, it’s getting together in person. And that’s dangerous for some in the group. I appreciate your work on everything and look forward to attending the next one!
  19. Please let me know if I can bring anything. I look forward to seeing everyone from 6’ away!😂
  20. Awesome, I look forward to it!
  21. That’s all I’m planning to throw. If you wanna jump in with me, I’ll launch from there. If you get a better offer promising the win, no hard feelings lol
  22. For himself through fishing, agreed Went to bass pro today for a reel and it was one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a long time. I’m over it. Academy, TW and HLS/Southtown from here on. When I sell my Ranger, I’ll be looking at non Johnny products
  23. Do you typically use walking baits or plopper/popper types?
  24. For those of us in NWA, we thank you for your service to our part of the lake lol
  25. Looks like they took out 1/2 foot yesterday. Prob why the fish weren’t on the bank.... They need to do it though. A few heavy spring rains and the lake will be in bad shape.
