Thanks I appreciate everyone’s input it helped a lot just to get me thinking of where they might be and how to find and/or attract them. The Ouachita is crazy high out here right now so I’m going to start looking for smaller lakes around where I work in Camden and hopefully find some luck.

Yeah I’ve gotten some pointers but bass, brim, cats and crappie are the main quarries and catch carp on accident.

Closest I could find to Arkansas fisherman who I could siphon knowledge from, not many live out here and I own the only carp rod in the area.

Well I’m pretty bad but worst might be an exaggeration I didn’t really fish growing up because neither parent knew how really. So fishing has been more of an adult pursuit and have been learning as I go. I make the joke because my wife always out fishes me no matter where we are.

Hey guys so first time poster down in El Do, mostly fish for what I can catch but I like rough species a lot because I’m weird. I’m trying right now for carp (common, grass and Asian or whatever I can get). I probably am not the worst fisherman but pretty close. I picked up fishing after a six year break due to an experience taking my mother in law fishing which is too long of a story. Anyway howdy!

I did actually, more of what I’m trying to find are specific locations where I can bank fish for carp. I’ve just had a hard time locating carp out here probably because all of the rivers are high. Also I apologize for the multiple posts, not sure what happened but probably in my excitement to get input did something weird so I flagged them in hopes of getting the deleted.

So I live in El Dorado and have fished everywhere I could think of including but not limited to: Moro Bay, Felsenthal, White Oak and Tricounty Lake. I have used pack baits, bread and sweet corn all using hair rigs. my current setup is 12 pound line>.5 oz egg sinker>helicopter>swivel>8 in braided line>#6 hook with hair rig. I just got done with white looking for grass carp, chummed the heck out of it and not even a nibble. That is what's really freaking me out is no fish has shown interest in my line. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, it's getting to the point I'm thinking carp are all part of my imagination or maybe a persistent hallucination. I've gone for common, hybrid and grassers where ever they say they are I go and can't find them. If I ask people just tell me to get a boat but I can't afford one nor really want one. Do you guys have any suggestions of what I'm doing wrong or where I could go to catch them? My sanity is starting to erode I've been trying for a few months now just fishing on the weekends and nothing not even nibbles. Thanks for your help!
