  1. it is actually going as i thought the weights would be. in the last couple of weeks, bass have been on the move. more to do with the bait moving than anything else. however, those that figure out where they are moving and can keep up with them everyday can do well. there will be some deeper fish caught video fishing, but i feel that the win will come from 20 ft. or shallower on moving baits. that is just my feel on how the lake is fishing right now. bo
  2. yep, the bass in the lower end have made some type of change. not for sure just what, but bites are just where you find one. bo
  3. there is more than likely some bigger bass in the same are. often, they hold up, and let the small drive the bait by. it is still fun to catch the small ones when you are just out fishing. bo
  4. glad to hear of some activity on the upper end. bo
  5. very nice trip! catching makes for a fun day. bo
  6. at last, you came out of the shadows and can speak. bo
  7. i might also add that if you look at the o2 levels and the temperartures, the bass are living in a farm pond, pretty much. normally the 70 to 72 is where the thermocline and best oo2 levels exists. but, sure goes to show just how high water and constant moving water affects the lake. bo
  8. i am quite sure that the rest of the lake does not read like that, but it does tell one that in the dam area there is not much need to fish any deeper than 20 feet. bo
  9. with the flat side down, it makes the fall more erratic. same reason that the original guido bug worked so well. bo
  10. not a bad trip, especially since the bite has been getting more scattered. bass seem to be just about anywhere right now, and bites can come from the bank to 20 ft. have started to see more bass coming from back in the arms and coves. bo
  11. just because they come to look does not mean you will get bit. they still might bite better without the rattle, or with. same can be said for crankbaits. there are times that one without rattles will do much better, and anymore, it seems to be more often, and i think that has to do with everything having rattles. but, the bass will usually tell you which one is more effective. bo
  12. i can tell you it is one of those things to let the bass tell you. i have seen it both ways. i have seen it many times in clear water and not a breath of air, and the only way to get a bite was with a rattle on the jig, and go the next night with same conditions and you have to fish without the rattle to catch them. that is why it is called fishing and not catching. bo
  13. most of the time, i crank a few times and then stop and let it swing toward you, and this is most often when the bite occurs. there are times that steady cranking works. one of those things you just have to change around until you find what is getting strikes. i often change blade sizes too. bo
  14. linda and i got out for a bit last night to enjoy the moon, but hardly go to see it. fished back up this way, and did not do too bad for here. ended up with five keeps. the biggest one was on a 1/2 SpinJig, 3 on a 1/2 jig, and 1 on a jig with a beaver style soft plastic. depth was about 10 on flats. had for or five shorts. quit at 1 am. bo
  15. nice going, and glad your screen shot clarified what you are saying. the screen shot indicates you are probably catching most up at 10 to 15 feet, but are fishing over 22 to 25 feet of water. of course, one does not want to disclose EVERTHING!. those fillets will sure be tasty. bo
  16. they should be the correct length. bo
  17. old plug, i am going to tell you same as my old retired buddies that can not see and refuse to get some glasses, or use them. put your glasses on and visually look at the line, if line is starting to get damaged and needs to be retied, you will see fuzzies sticking up off the line. you are right about not being able to tell by feel. so, old plug put your glasses on and look. bo
  18. hopefully the lowering of water temps will help with the bite. if you saw any bait ball, what depth were most of them? bo
  19. i sent you a pm. bo
  20. champ, you are supposed to know they are already there before feeling resistance on your rod. i set the hook when i think they are looking at it. bo
  21. very nice bass. in the areas that i had been catching them, the shad and bass were not around today. did notice that i saw the most activity in the back of pockets and steeper stuff. bo
  22. i will be the odd many out on this one, but i use braid. braid works for me, and the hook set is much better because there is not any stretch. and, when you are putting a hook up through the top of their head, the no-stretch is a plus. bo
  23. wow! those are beauties! great job. bo
  24. i have sing a small chunk type trailer. similar to the smaller size zoom super chunk. bo
  25. you can fish it just like any other spinner bait, but the best method for these deeper bass is to let it go to the bottom, start reeling for 4 to 7 cranks, then stop and let it pendulum back to the bottom and repeat. the bites are coming as it is coasting. bo
