  1. speaking of emerald beach, years ago, there used to be a pretty good tree patch just inside the bluff end point up on the pea gravel. back in the day, we would tie up to one of the tree tops and sit there and just load the boat. so, champ is right there is nothing to see at that location any longer because that big patch of trees is not there any longer. bo
  2. this will be a great lesson in being able to tell which species you are looking at on your electronics. most fish species signature a bit different from each other. unfortunately, bass and carp look very similar and do stay in many of the same locations. paying attention to details such as shape of the arches the graph is making and then catching some really helps to correlate what you are looking at. really nice mixed bag. bo
  3. i believe bass would bite anything at night just as they will in the daytime. however, i have not caught one on a spoon at night, and i have tried, but i do know of some that claim they catch them on a spoon at night all the time. i would say that i have caught bass at night on everything except the spoon. drop shots work great at night when the bass are pretty finicky. bo
  4. got in a short trip to get my fishing fix before leaving down to icast. pics are of our two largest, and one of what we were using which i a 1/2 GrassJig in brown and blue with a blue trailer. both of the biggest ones were right on the bank. according to the electronics, there was not any reason to fish past 15 ft. water temp when we put in was 88 and cooled to 86 when we left. we fished lots of different areas and terrain before we stumbled into them and they were bunched up. ended up with 7 keeps and caught lots of shorts. bo
  5. you can not really understand just how good the gobec system is until you experience it. hopefully we will now start doing a better job of doing you tube instructional videos now, just because we can now upload a video in 5 minutes or less instead of an all night process. just to see how good and fast this system is, we have the tv doing a movie over wifi, i am on the computer working, and got 4 other people over using the wifi with their phones, and you would still think you were the only one operating on the system. bo
  6. got hooked up on the gobec phone and internet today and how great it is to have internet service that is so much better than what i had with century link. my download speed with century link was .4mbps. yes, you did read that right .4 not 4. gobec is well over 250 time faster, and at a cheaper price. the tech that was here put up a 3 hour 3 minute you tube video, and it was fully loaded in under 10 seconds. bo
  7. me personally, would not bother with a leader. to me, the only difference line makes regardless of color is the size and type, which affects your sink rate or depth lures such as crankbaits can attain. i know other folks let that "visble" line get into their heads, but i maintain that if a fish can reason that there is something bad about line, they can see the hook just as well, and that is what is actually causing the problem. so, why would they ever bite anything with a hook??? just my assessment. bo
  8. got a little table fare out of the trip. nice. bo
  9. you might want to just check with basscat. especially if you want the same grade of carpet put back in. they can usually do that for you, but might be a bit to get it in. and, they can not, they probably know a few places that do carpet replacement. bo
  10. i have one knee that has been replaced so i know first hand all the hard work it takes to get the leg back in shape. even with as much work as i put into rehab, i still lost part of my hamstring strength. she will just have to get mad at me, but i am going to make sure she puts in the work needed to ensure a good outcome. it will help her fishing too. bo
  11. for just being 3 weeks out, i think she is doing very good. she is walking on her own now, but she needs to get more agressive with getting range of motion back. she is only at 110 degrees. guess i will have to start cracking the whip on her pt. bo
  12. pretty much, although we did fish another area of the lake. we did catch everything on a 1/2 GrassJig, and the bites were 15 to 20 ft. bo
  13. weather sent us back the the ramp and made a two hour tour of our fishing trip. linda make her first trip since knee replacement. danged if she did not catch the first two. they were mlf size though. i got two of the right size though. bo
  14. you sure are venturing out from big m a ways now. pretty nice trip of catching. bo
  15. 16 lbs. is doing very good. 3 lb. average . bo
  16. here is you tube link www.youtube.com/watch?v=OI4q5zqbDow. with 40# or bigger braid, you need to use 8 wraps, and with 30# and smaller, you need to use 10 wraps. other than that, just follow the instructions in the video. this is the best knot to use with any type of line. bo
  17. really not too bad for about 4 hours of fishing. bo
  18. had a chance to fish a bit last night. thank goodness we did not put in until right at dark, and even then, it was still a zoo. kind of drove right up to a bunch of fish on the first stop. started catching the instantly. had 5 keeps and several shorts on that place. most were caught on a 3/4 GrassJig. depth wise was 15 to 25 ft. had to work for the other 5 keepers and however many shorts and had to switch tactics to get a bite. caught most of the rest on a 1 oz. SpinJig with the GrassJig head on it and a #7 Colorado blade. depth wise was still the same 15 to 25 ft. did not have anything that would go more than 3 lbs. I believe with the front and north breeze, there was a big feed going on right at dark, and then nothing. kind of why the SpinJig caught all the rest of them. had to wake one up to get them to take a swipe at something. bo
  19. al was doing part of our pouring and painting, but he went back to work for wintech and could not keep up with our demand and had to quit with our stuff. however, I understood that he was going to keep up with the pigstickers. I can pm you his phone number if that will help. bo
  20. the GrassJig coupled with the blade stays down better for one thing, but it also has a very erratic action on the retrieve. plus, it just flat fishes through anything just about like nothing is there. tackle warehouse keeps both the CrazyJig and the CrazyBlitz in 3/8 and 1/2 oz. after icast, the Elite Blade will be up on our website. sorry that I get to fish all this stuff before anyone else. but, hey, I have to test all this stuff to make sure it works and what type of techniques it can be used to catch fish. I can tell you that from the feedback from those that have already been fishing with the GrassJigs it will shortly become our #1 selling head. after you fish with the GrassJig, you will know very shortly why it is all that I fish with unless I need a weight lighter than a 3/8. when we can justify making the Elite hook in a 4/0 or 3/0, we will add smaller sizes to the GrassJig line up. back to the bladed jigs you ordered, most of the time here on table rock, you will need a 1/2 or heavier. just roll the blade off of one of those you bought and roll the split ring onto one of your heavier heads. the 3/4 Blitz football head works well also. if you have questions, you can call anytime and I will try to answer them. 417-847-0808. bo
  21. i am just using a small chunk type trailer, very similar to the zoom super chunk jr. however swimbait bodies work very well also. i just get tired of having to replace those all the time from the bass that just clamp down on the boot tail and tear it off. when i am using this when fishing it more as i would a spoon, then i do not use a skirt and do add the swim bait body. i use the zman diesel minnow, or something like that, because it fishes well, has great action, and after you glue it on, get lots of mileage out of one body. i also fish the GrassJig with a swim bait body by itself too. very effective either just swimming it, or using it just as you would a spoon. this past winter, there were lots of trips that the 3/4 GrassJig paired with a 4"swimmer would out fish a spoon. that setup has a very erratic fall and trigger lots of bites. the other great thing about fishing the GrassJig or the Elite Blade just as you would a spoon is when you are fishing an area with lots of submerged timber. you spend lots of time getting snagged spoons lose, but not with the other options. there are just so many options to utilize these two fishing tools. bo
  22. quill, they take their toys home with them like everyone should. bo
  23. nancy those are some really nice one! where are al's?. bo
  24. a whole lot of those, what seems to be, short hitters are goggle eye. why do I know? because I have been catching quite a few mixed in with the bass, and their bite feels just the same as the small mouth. seems as though the brownies are really pinning the jig to the bottom right now, and sometimes when they are doing this, you have to wait for that second nudge to get them, and even then you can still miss. bo
  25. no, because i am keeping tension on the line and letting it swing back to the bottom, not putting a belly in the line and letting drop straight back down. if i were fishing it as a spoon, then yes, it would be bellying the line and let it drop straight back down, which during the middle of the day might work better than letting it swing. bo
