  1. Man o man those are some nice slabs there Crappie5. The Kings must be on fire with all the good reports we are getting,Whites,Crappie. Now who's gonna give us a good Walleye report ? One thing about Table Rock Crappie is you can never read a newspaper through 'em like some from other places I've caught . Good report.
  2. Those are some healthy looking Whites there Jay Bird, good job. It seems like any White bass report on the Table Rock forum gets covered up quickly,so I've been keepiing a closer eye on it lately. Sounds like the Kings is going to have a (once in a long time healthy) run also this year. Keep up the good reports. I'll bet those youngsters had fun, thats what its all about, right there.
  3. That sounds like a fun day,way to go. Bill I'm sure glad you held that white up next to you instead of at arms length, you can just see how big it is better. Good job.
  4. Bm,I don't know very many by name but I am sure we have fished beside and talked to the guys you mentioned. I have never seen slider throw a spoon so you must be thinking of someone else,we are all kinda hard core jig fishers but we will throw some sticks if the hybrids are in there thick. I love fishing up there, can't wait till it gets going good.
  5. Brownieman the bunch that I go with (Slider and the guys) usually don't start going to Warsaw till around the first of May,after all our local fishing is starting to play out a little. I was curious about the water level so I looked up the real-time water data for Warsaw and it is really low( 22 ft. ) and they aren't running hardly any water. Infact alot of the streams in that area are running about 1/3 of cfs that they should be for March. Even the ole James river is running about 1/2 what it should. We need some rain!!!!
  6. I agree Sam. Money, money, isn't everything all about money. To hec with everything else.
  7. Besides our close neighboring states lakes I would be interested in eastern Tennessee. My neice lives in Nashville and she says the rivers and creeks out their are much like ours and they have several with wild Trout populations. Buget wise, its a place that I could visit. Also I have wondered why we don't have a place for Smithville lake, with all the people from KC that visit this forum,I fished it a couple of times and it is a dandy little lake for Crappie and Bass.
  8. Yep,Coyote,I'd say we crossed paths. I think the really bigger fish are laying in the deeper waters at Ashers and below to Flat Creek waiting for a rise in the water. Don't under estimate the color white after dark when there's a good moon also!!!
  9. Hey coyote, I was down on the James too Fri,I also caught the dinks, but found some bigger too. I posted a report on the Table Rock forum.
  10. My son,bro-in-law and me made it to lower end of Ashers about 2:00 pm and started catching Whites right off the bat.The graph was covered up with fish everywhere we went. The only problem was they were all really small, even too small for me to keep,I really like eating those small males. Sometimes your jig would get hit 4 or 5 times on the fall in 6 foot of water. About 5:00 pm we decided to get off the flats and shallows and fish the deeper channel. That was the ticket,we started picking up some desent size males and caught 5 or 6 nice sows. We ended up bringing home 31 good eaters. We all decided that we caught atleast 150 whites and I thought that was being conservative. Those small Whites would be great to get a youngster in to. White was the best color especially for the bigger fish. We threw jigs, sliders,SMs,and rooster tails. It was a beautiful day.
  11. All I can say is,wow. Thanks for sharing, thats some collection.
  12. Lonkm,yes and yes
  13. Thats really neat BM,you wouldn't happen to have one of those old Jawbreaker lures would you? Would like to see a picture of one. Early fifties!!Those 2 Jacks look bigger than 8 and 11 lbs,man I love to look at old fish pics.
  14. NICE fish,Chief!
  15. Ozarkfishman, you did good then by not saying anything. If anyone has had to learn restraint, its me. I use to get really nasty when I encountered an idiot like you did,but anymore I feel its just not worth it ruining my outing. Fish on!
  16. The estimated census for 2008 in Missouri is a little over 5,900,000. With only 818 square miles of water in the state, well I'll let you guys do the math, its not going to get any better. Its just a blessing that not all those people per square mile of water like to fish. Courtesy and restraint from everyone is what its gonna take when its crowded.
  17. Good catches fishinswmo. I have always wanted to fish down there because of the excellent White Bass fishing I've heard about for decades.
  18. Try www.jannsnetcraft.com , they've got em.
  19. Guys the old saying goes like this, 10% of fishermen, THINK that THEY catch 90% of the fish, hehe, what they don't know won't hurt 'em I guess. Bills right it is a wonderful lake, but, it will burst your ego bubble faster than any lake in Southwest Mo. And if I were traveling from very far away,I would pick the most consistant fishery around,The ROCK!!
  20. To the ole Pothole I'll go.
  21. Kev, its open, just drive slowwww.
  22. Wayne, the light purple backed one is a Rogue, and I'm pretty sure its custom painted.About half the stickbaits I own have been found and most of them are Rogues. Didn't catch any Trout,I thought the ole Pothole would be full of em. They are probably there I just couldn't trick them into biting.
  23. Coyote, thats the 2nd one of those Rapalas I have found down there ,must be a good bait. Those swim baits are heavy, dont know how you could throw one in less than 20ft of water. The Striper guys must have been throwing them when the water was 30ft up.
  24. I have no idea how I posted this 4 times,my computer must be wacked out. Please delete the other 3 post on this thread. Thanks.
  25. In just the last week I have started having trouble staying logged on.I have had to log on 5 times today 1/10,it seems to kick me off more after I have just posted something.
