There's been several thread extolling the virtues of braided line on spinning reels. I bought 300 yards 10# Spider Wire at Walmart. I have a 2000-series reel I want to load in and I plan on about a 6-8 ft section of 8# fluorocarbon as a leader. I'm sure the reel will hold all the braid if I want it to, but my question is, do I want it to?
At first I thought I could put 100 yards on and if I like, do they same on a couple other smaller reels, but then I thought, that might not be enough to make the reel function at it's best. I don't want tight coils.
Also, the spool is "braid ready". There's a crosshatched section in the middle of the spool. Am I tying on there with a standard arbor know? So many questions.... This is why I avoid change.
Thanks
