  1. I tried the jigging....still slow. something hit it hard and stayed on the bottom, lost it after about 20 seconds. Tail beats felt pretty good - guessing catfish or a really nice walleye. Did pick one up trolling.
  2. Quillback - it was all that. Mist on the water and the geese were flying. Saw a bald eagle. Saw fish. no bites. might go try again later today.
  3. And I just found a post on facebook from a guy who was pre-fishing before todays tourney, so there is a tourney today, 9/8. Said they never caught a fish yesterday....9/7
  4. out for walleye this morning - saw a lot of fish on the scope, but was unable to get any. And I tried both of the tricks i know.....Good morning out on the lake. Saw a bald Eagle. Tons of bass boats racing around....guessing there was a tourney of some sort today? I saw more bass boats this morning than I saw total all summer. Fish were there, just didn't get any....or at least, I'm seeing the same thing on the screen I saw two weeks ago, in the same spot, and I caught walleye THEN, just not NOW. Might go out and try it again this evening.
  5. So....once they scatter how do you catch them? First year on the lake for me, so still in the flat part of the learning curve.
  6. Good on you. I was out this morning - 9/6 - and spots that were holding fish were barren.
  7. was lucky enough to get out this afternoon for a little prospecting trip. Found a few - all too small, 15-16 inches at best. Crawler rigs in 30ish feet of water.
  8. Interesting - caught mine in dead calm at 430 in the afternoon. Definitely not optimal time. Hoping to head out today and work south
  9. Crawler harnesses put a limit of walleyes - smallest was 18", biggest 23.5" - in the boat in just over 90 minutes. Started fishing at 4:30, limited by 6. Threw them back and kept fishing - looking for other spots. Found a couple promising places to check out more. Swung back to the original spot at 7 and caught two more in 15 minutes. Fishing a little deeper - down to 33-35'.
  10. First full limit of walleyes - thanks Jon Conklin and Ar Hzgr for imparting knowledge - took 63 minutes to get them in the boat. Didn't get out yesterday - too many wake boats, other things to attend to, but hoping to get out today (8/26). Sized from 18.5" to 23-24"
  11. Nice fish - gives me something to aspire too...
  12. Good afternoon - new to the lake - got here in February (sorry, I'm part of the traffic problem) and didn't really get to fish much until May. Been doing OK on smallmouths before it warmed up, haven't found them again yet....but I've moved on to trying to catch some walleyes. Any tips / tricks / suggestions for a new guy? jeff
  13. Houston, thank god.. I'm no Texan - I was exiled there - and glad to be gone.
  14. Good morning - moved here in feb - yes, I'm part of the traffic problem and I'm sorry. Living in the Point 6 area of Beaver. Catching a few smallmouths....trying to catch some walleyes, and looking forward to white bass this summer. They say its a tough lake to learn. So far, they're right. If you see a red ranger boat on the lake, give a wave. jeff
