  3. Sweet!
  4. Living in Salida would be a dream come true for me. Super cool little town and great location.
  5. Nice!👍
  6. Those are gonna be sweet.
  7. 👍Yes sir, thats what I do… Already missing that place. Cant wait till i can go back to the river again. Hopefully next time i’ll be bringing a fly rod too.
  8. I’ll have to get me some of those. I usually just flatten the barbs with my hemostats, but those would be handy. I had some of your jigs that i got from your shop when we went to Branson, but now i’m out. They work great. I need to place an order to replete my arsenal. A rock in the Arkansas River in Colorado claimed my last one. Lol…. Colorado trout like Lilley’s Jigs too by the way. Lol
  9. Hey phil. I fished Rim Shoals, Wildcat Shoals, and the State Park up by the dam. Rim Shoals and the State Park are barbless… On the Norfork, there is a barbless section at Ackerman Access.
  10. Had the weekend off, so me and the fam decided to head up to Mountain Home for some river time. The Norfork was too high, but the White was perfect in the mornings. Man, you guys are so lucky and blessed to have those rivers. I caught a lot of fish, and we had a great time. I caught a nice brown and 2 pretty little cutthroats which was super cool. Those were my first cutts ever. I even caught a little smallmouth which was a surprise. I caught all of these on marabou jigs. Here’s a few of the fish i managed to get to the net.
  11. Everyone at Deckers seemed laid back and friendly. No stink eye witnessed. Actually saw a few others with a spinning reel too. However, i mostly fly fished there, with my cousin as my complimentary guide. Lol… Deckers is a special place. I’d love to hike Cheesman Canyon someday and explore the river there.
  12. Took the family up to Colorado for some mountain time. It was such an awesome trip. Colorado is so beautiful and is a fisherman’s paradise…..We started out in Salida, and we love that town. I fished the Arkansas River at several access points and caught some pretty ones on marabou jigs. On one day we went up in the mountains to go see the St Elmo ghost town. The boys and the wifey fed the chipmunks, and we had a great time. Its super beautiful up there. There’s a little mountain stream called Chalk Creek that goes along the road up to St Elmo that holds trout. I caught this baby brown on a fly there, which was super cool. After Salida, we went to go visit my Aunt in Evergreen. My cousin took me down to Deckers on the South Platte river. This was my favorite place to fish in Colorado. I caught this super pretty brown on a marabou jig. Using my cousin’s fly rod, i caught this rainbow on leach pattern. Beautiful, beautiful place. And then one day, we all went to Silverthorne. While the everyone hit the outlet mall, i fished the Blue river and caught some pretty rainbows on marabou jigs there. Here are a few of them. The biggest rainbow i’ve ever seen followed one of my fish in. Never could get him to bite though.
  13. How long do ya think that one is? Beautiful fish👍
  14. Took the fam up to the Ozarks for some river time. The river was low, but we had a nice float from Spring Creek to Dillard’s Ferry. Caught a few smallmouth on flukes and had a great time. Then we went over to Gilbert in the afternoon for some swimming and fishing. My 9 year old caught a pretty lil smallie on a tube. I fished a popper and caught a bunch of colorful sunfish. Had a nice smallmouth on but, after a few jumps, he decided to spit the fly back at me.
  15. Pretty ones. 👍
  16. Yea, you’re right netboy. I forgot about the Guadalupe down in the Hill Country. I’ve heard thats a beautiful river, but i’ve never been. I’ve got to check that out someday…. Our East Texas rivers are mostly muddy chocolate milk. Lol
  17. Lol. I was absolutely thrilled to catch those dudes. 😁 Trout are such pretty creatures. Wish we had some cold clear rivers down here in Tejas.
  18. Not sure what brand it is, but I got it a few years back at bass pro.
  19. Very nice. Hope to learn to fly fish someday.
  20. New member to this board but long time lurker. I’m from Longview, TX, and my wife and I recently made a trip to Mountain Home. Its our 2nd time up there and yall’s rivers are beautiful and amazing. Can’t wait to go back. Caught quite a few trout on marabou jigs, and a couple on jerk baits as well. Hope to learn to fly fish someday when i get the chance. Super healthy and pretty fish up there. Didnt get any super big ones, but caught some very nice ones by my standards. Lol… here’s some of our little buddies we caught and released.
