Most were 12 to 14 inches with some 10inchers, nothing big but fun fishing. Yes I waded the road bed. Caught several bluegill but they were tiny.

Fished below powersite Sunday middle of day for a couple of hours and caught @ twenty bows. Used a grey micro jig on a flyrod under a float. Left for a couple of hours for ameeting and came back and did it again. Fished the powerhouse side, they had turbines running had to have waders to fish it. vince.

DT yes That was me. I have gotten into the chubs before above the boat ramp asnd below lilleys. I have often pinched their heads and tossed them back into the water. Im sure the browns and larger bows will eat them and no waste that way.

Fished yesterday evening betweeen #1 and #2. The bank was eroding off of #1 and leaving a mudd line, I fished that with a olive jigg under a float and caught several fish till the water cleared. Then fished midges with no luck, lots of fish midging; swithed to a tan soft hackle and started picking up fish again, but I was missing more than I was hooking. Fun evening.

D.T. If you caught dozens and they were only 4-5 inches long they may have been chubs, they get bigger than that and have their mouth off the front of their head instead of the bottom, suckers mouths turn down. I've wondered how they would work for walleye bait?

Friday april 6 I walked most of the day and found @130 morels all sizes and colors. They were on the verge of being too dry, I soaked them and they were in fine shape. I found them a few miles north of mountain grove MO. I imagine they came up before the cold weather. Most were around sycamores and ash .

fly fished on upper Taney wednesday. First time out in a long time and it was very rewarding, great weather and great fishing. Fished zebra bead head midges all afternoon and caught fish all afternoon.

Launched the boat and fished Sunday afternoon below the dam from 2pm to 5:30pm. Used rogues, gitsits and deer tail jigs. Hooked five fat and sassy rainbows, nothing else. Vince

Put in at twin bridges and went up the spring r Mon and Tues nov20-21. Mon we netted some shad and caught about half our fish on them. We would drop the shad to the bottom and then up a couple of feet. The rest caught on grubs and swimming minnows, smoke was the best color. Most caught in 15-20 ft of water. Mon we had 25 whites and 5 crappie, Tues we had 30 whites and 5 crappie and fished just with jigs. Water temp 50. Caught all the fish below the high line that crosses over. vince

There have been a lot of surfacing fish frome the bridges down to Roark. Try fishing a bead head midge 16" below a indicator or a micro jig under an indicator. We did well Sat moring

This is a little late but thought someone may be interested. Fished Friday took out of Lilleys and fished down stream but never went past Monkey Island. Basicly looking for midging fish and they kept me busy all day long. Used red or black midges they ate them equally well. Later in the day I used jigs with good success. No big fish but good numbers of stocker size fish. vince.

Hi Linc, glad to have you on board, and thanks for the oil the other night. Fished last evening after work, went down stream from Lilley's. Fished edies with jigs and jerk baits and caught several small bows and three browns all under 16 inches. Sure enjoy that cool air as the sun goes down, Where else in MO in August can you get down right chilled and have so much relaxing fun? vince

Phil, Fishing was fair using tan scuds, caught about a dozen. tried a lot of stuff and different colors but no luck on anything else. Was that tree still in front of your dock or did it drift on.

Had a first last evening, after over forty years of fishing I buried a hook in my finger. It went in all the way to the bend of the hook. I lifted a trout out of the water with my rod and slid my fingers down the line to unhook it. The trout came off and the loaded rod snapped it into my middle finger. It happened so fast!!!!!!! I took some 30 pd test line made a loop, slipped it over the fly, held the eye of the fly down and gave the loop a sharp jerk and the hook came out real easy. I had read about hook removal in a magazine somewhere and it worked real well. I'm just glad it was a'# 12 trout fly instead of a 1/0 bass jig. Be carefull out there.

Hey Bill thanks for the good report, I enjoy them. I haven't been out much lately. Went out friday evening, waded top end of clay banks at the narrows. One unit was running, was using tan and gray scuds. Fish were moving up on the gravel being submerged as the water came up. It was fun to pick one fish and get a good drift and watch the trout move to pick up the fly. They were many willing takers that evening.

Thanks Stone, I kept away from the bright moon thought the light wouldnt draw the fish.

Crappieman I was out in the wide open area down from trigger didn't fish pole timber. No surface activie other than gar. Went out to the middle and found the river channel and fished the dropps.

Sounds good we many have to wait for the moon to darken.

Thanks for the report Stone, I tried but didn't do any good. Put in at K dock and went down about a mile and fished main lake channel drops. Fished jigs and crawlers caught 5 crappie 3 kept 1 small channel 1 big bluegill and had on way too many gar. Fish were all about 20' deep. Trolled for awhile and only had on some gar did you know they can puncture crankbaits.
