  1. Greg: Yes I have used dries at Bennett with success. Crackelbacks fish good as a dry, Elk Hair Caddis, PMD, Trico and Griffith's Gnat. I to have left my vest at home. I was an hour away from home going to the Current and it hit me hard "NO VEST" I turned around and went home and then headed back to meet up with a friend. The 3 hr drive turned into 5 hrs. My friend thought it was funny until we went on another trip to the Current we started to rig up after the waders were on and guess what? He didn't bring his Rod............I tried to feel sorry for him between laughs.
  2. Greg: Forgot the fishing report= fished zone 3 and caught around 7 fish with BH Zebras 5 of those were caught on the back side of the same rock...go figure. One advantage to zone 3 = no people except one guy ahead of me and that was it for the 3+ hours there. Usually have better fishing in zone 3 but not today. Went up to fish down from stone arch bridge in the riffles but it would have taken a shoe horn to get another person in that area. Really do like that area, lots of fish usually holding in the rocks. Last went to the big water above the dam and stripped a Crackleback, and caught 3 and missed one strike then nothing
  3. Oh well! thought it might be the same guy. Drove the suburban and it had a companies name on the side rear windows from Springfield Mo.
  4. Greg: Were you driving a suburban and parked at the swimming pool parking lot? If so I was parked next to you in the black 4 door Ford pickup. We talked for a short while.
  5. Don't forget the electric hand driers in the restroom, doesn't take to long to dry out a pair of fleece gloves . I know some of the trout parks have them. Does the new restroom at Taney have them?
  6. In cold weather :cold:I love the Simms gloves which have the fold over to make into a mitten. Another big help in the winter is to take along some hand warmer packs you can find at Wally World. Activate them stick in your coat pocket or wear them between the top of your hand and your glove.
  7. Heavy Mono tied in at eye of hook and tied off on the bend of the hook shank, works great also...............
  8. SIUSALUKI: St. Louis University enjoyed having your Basketball team in town Saturday night, we need all the wins we can get. SIU looks to need a point guard if they plan on having another fantastic year. Hope you make March Madness
  9. Good way to check the guides for wear is to run a Q-Tip through the guide to see if a worn place on the guide pulls some of the cotton on the Q-tip. It will ruin the fly line. Fishing a dirty fly line will also increase wear & tear on the guides.
  10. LMW: Where have you all been? Must be working hard! First post I have noticed of your's in a long time. Well this is my first post in a long time also. Ducky where are you? The BIG HORN is getting ready to go off..............
  11. As some of you may remember my father had lung surgery for cancer. The six week test done after surgery showed everything went well. The six month test done Thursday showed the cancer has returned from one tumor to three and in the lymph nodes also. He will be starting radiation after we finish the annual October family fishing trip to Lilley's.
  12. Need info for a friend coming into the area. Where is a good access point downstream from Boiling Springs on the Big Piney? He plans to pontoon fish the area!
  13. THE HORN! WATCH OUT FOR THE BIG HORN
  14. A group of friends fish Norfork tailwaters every April and we see the same things every year. The guides come in with their clients for lunch and clean their catch. We count from the deck above the dock and more so than not they have limited out. then they load up the boat for the second part of the day and wouldn't you know it, another limit. To me they are destroying the fishery that provides their income! So Sad...........
  15. My prayers are with you and the family Terry.
  16. Gee.............MrDucky glad to hear you and MrsDucky are ok, been missing for a long time. Now all we have to do is find "LostMyWife"
  17. Great....... I always knew I was right about not raking the leaves until spring I will make sure my better half reads this

  20. Leonard either sleeps during the day or never goes to bed, seems to be on Taney every night..............
  21. I started to have major anxiety attacks over the crash! Everything started to become a BLUR
