  1. Thanks for the advice motroutbum & troutchaser will try the 20 in. spacing on the flies
  2. Foul hooked trout at Taney is one of the reasons I do not like fishing two nymphs under an indicator, if you miss a hit on the top fly you snag the fish with the trailer. Sure see a lot of foul hooked fish in the outlets like Tery mentioned.
  3. I hope for MrDucky sake these black bears are scared of the BIG HORN and really STRANGE ODORS.
  4. duckydoty, maybe you can have your own net man if vanven has one
  5. Hey Rich, why work and not reward yourself for a job well done............... Let me know how you do at Montauk.
  6. Rich: Cracklebacks with a PT trailer have been working very nicely from the spring on down river...........
  7. MrDucky I was wondering the samething just a couple of day's ago, it has been a long time!
  8. PMD's
  9. I don't think Leonard or MrDucky can keep up with you Terry You need to write some fiction fly fishing book about certain members of OAF
  10. Thanks jd, been thinking about a purchase, just need to figure out what I want to do..............
  11. I wonder if our regulators are having any second thoughts about allowing cooked chickens into the USA from China, being China has reported cases of bird flu in the past? No Worry After all China said they will insure the cooking process takes place!
  12. Terry is right on While I have never had the pleasure of fishing with Leonard, I have heard the great stories about the famous "Trout Whistle" in use on Taney..................... I can only believe the trout act the same way when Leonard calls
  13. jd; What model kayak were you using & your opinion on it?
  14. Every leader I buy I will run my finger from the very end [smallest]towards the top end until I feel the diameter of the leader changing. Then I will cut and tie in a loop to attach my tippet either with a loop/loop or knot. It seems to work well, a good fishing friend taught me this trick
  15. MrDucky: Hope you and MrsDucky can make the trip, they have a little HORN there
  16. Called Lilley's today about the party and asked if they had heard from Phil?............... The response from the other end "Phil? Who is Phil"?
  17. The fire sale at Lilley's must be going hot and Heavy..............I have been calling the shop for the last two days and it is always busy. I want to get in on the cabin deal & boat for $1.00 a day, best rate I could find on Taney. Also heard the Toga sheets are hanging on the line for the Saturday night party............ Enjoy Alaska Phil, no need to hurry home the gang is in full control of the resort
  18. MrDucky/Leonard Congrats to both families!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Was it the "BIG HORN"?
  20. hfd: Did Ty fall in or is he a deep wader?
  21. I have been on rivers in Missouri when the minority went out of their way to ruin an outing for the majority. I agree with RiverRunner do whatever makes your day but do it at home and not make yourself a pain for everyone else around you! One Saturday {my mistake} we were on a float with numerous drunks showing everyone how not to act in public, and law enforcement was hitting the area hard. No one was harrassed that didn't already deserve to be questioned ticketed etc. These people were breaking the law and received what they were looking for ATTENTION. Maybe they never received attention at home when they were younger or were never taught right from wrong. Dubya go and enjoy your trip on the river and you will find the only people who will harrass you will be the people who don't know how to act in public.
  22. [quote name='Backcountry Outfitters' date='May 21 2007, 11:43 AM' Why should I have waited to write my post. Michael: I said "I guess I should have waited for your post". I trust and respect your opinion on fishing and the products available to fly fishermen. My post was simply based on an article found in a magazine my someone I don't even know. If I had seen your post earlier, guess we were writing at the same time, I would not have bothered posting, since your personal experience is way beyond mine. Personal experience often outways a "study" made by whomever. One thing I have noticed about fluoro on a cold day in the winter I feel it has a tendency to break faster, or it could be my cold fingers.............
  23. Rusty: I was reading an article about fluoro not to long ago and it stated fluoro will not go bad on you a/c of age or sun. It sounds like you might have been generating to much heat when you were making the knot, really make sure you dip the knot in the water before you tighten. Michael: I guess I should have waited for your post!!! I wish I could remember what fly fishing magazine the article was in.
