  1. It sure looks like it has a nubby tail and not a long tail to me. I'd say bobcat to judging by that picture.
  2. I believe there's some below the dam at the park. In the big pool around the bridge. I know they've been caught there before, but don't know if they're still in there or not.
  3. There must be something going on with the stripers or something else. I was at River Run ramp this evening and there were at least a dozen trucks with trailers in the parking lot. I'm thinking they're catching stripers maybe.
  4. Check 4 topics down from yours. A 10lb flathead was caught at night right by the dam. The best catfishing I've found on Springfield Lake is not where the discharge is. I've done real well upstream on cats. But that was a few years ago. Good luck, now you got me wanting to go catch a flathead for supper.
  5. I've caught a few in McDaniels Lake north of Springfield. Never in Springfield Lake though.
  6. I thought there might be a few around. I seen a dead on below Beaver Creek a couple weeks ago.
  7. I can't imagine being able to go but just a little bit before hitting gravel riffles. I don't think it would be worth your time. Maybe one of the fulltime floaters will chime in.
  8. Thanks Ping! Didn't think anybody would chime in, lol. I'm hoping to get out and try it as soon as my fishing buddy decides to go with. I guess I'll try around K dock maybe, who knows. I will probably fill the boat with walleye and 16 inch crappie.
  9. Since you guys mentioned stripers I thought I might add that I found a dead striper last week just below the mouth of Beaver Creek.
  10. thanks for the report.
  11. Geez, You guys are rough. I've waited patiently with over 260 views I know someone had to have known something about night fishing under lights. Oh well, lol. Hopefully I can have time soon and can try to figure out a spot to go.
  12. It's also illegal to use a boat on McDaniel. Or maybe it's just a motor?

    Cave Tours

You could try Smallin Civil War Cave in Ozark, MO. I've never been there, but i've heard it's pretty neat to see. Really really big to.
  14. Have you checked the banks in that area? Or just in the open water? it'll float up on the bank most likely whichever way the winds are blowing. I do a lot of bait(lure) hunting and the windy banks are always the best.
  15. Has anybody ever done any fishing under lights in the K dock area? I'm thinking about trying it and just wondered if anybody had any advice on if it's any good in this area. Possibly even in the Beaver Creek area to. thanks
  16. Thanks for the report. I love catching big gills.
  17. I don't fish Sac River very much. But we had an early spring and the white bass run has been over for a couple months from what I know of. And I doubt that there's any crappie to be caught either. It's a pretty small river and not many deep holes that would hold either of them. I think you better head down to the lake, lol. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I hope you can prove me wrong though.
  18. I didn't think he was joking till I scrolled down. I just figured it was another Catch and Release Extremist at work again trying to scare people away from eating fish, lol.
  19. So basically what you're saying is to only keep the bass under 15 inches, even though illegal they're better eating and still healthy for consumption. lol.
  20. When I was fishing for them I found that they prefer to bite off the bottom rather than suspended. I could watch them off the bridge and we only caught a couple off the bobbers.
  21. Just another lovely piece of scenery on the James, lol. I imagine someone didn't want it anymore and figured they would just set it off down the river. It'll sink eventually and be an eyesore forever I imagine.
  22. I talked to a friend this morning who was fishing yesterday afternoon. He said that the whites are up above Swan Creek to the Dam in force. He said people on the banks were catching them pretty often. He caught 7 walleye himself trolling. Has anybody else heard of this good of a bite down there? I had gave up on them.
  23. The last ones I found were over a week ago. They're finished for the most part. Some cooler places like north facing spots or places in the cedars might still be producing, but all my spots are finished.
  24. Thanks Springfishin, I've been wanting to start night fishing under the lights and your report gives me some incentive to try. That's a good report and sounds like you had a lot of fun.
