  1. I was down below Powersite both yesterday and today. Yesterday was great water color and today was muddy. So I'm gonna give it a couple days before I go back down. Lots of stuff in the water. I was at Beaver yesterday also and it was completely muddy with trees floating.
  2. I use a kayak multiple times a week on both the rivers and lakes in the area. The only thing better on a lake is taking a boat. Other crafts are too slow(personal pontoons). In the river a kayak or canoe is best.
  3. Fin And Feather south of Bass Pro about a mile on the same road on the same side will have what you need. Next to Fuji.
  4. Thanks, the big 1 is 29 inches and the second biggest I've ever caught.
  5. Me and my two boys went fishing tonight off the bank. The spot we went to, we have caught at least 1 keeper walleye 4 nights in a row. Tonight we got 2 keepers. We were using creek chubs from 7:15 till 9:00. All our bites came right at dark without a bite after complete darkness.
  6. Wow that's a tough and rough bite. At least it was a mild calm day out there.
  7. The temp was 40 degrees everywhere I went, but like I said, that wasn't far.
  8. With all the buzz about the K dock area, I had to fish. Well we put in at noon out of K dock and the boat would not start. I had trouble out of it the last time I went a week ago and thought I figured out the problem, but didn't. We trolled around from the ramp upstream all the way out of sight of ramp and then back. We graphed several groups of fish, like described before by others, but didn't get a bite in about 4 hours. We tried creek chubs, soft plastics, and Flicker Shads with nothing to show but frustration of the day. We loaded the ramp and went upstream to Swan creek and found a nice bank to chill out and casted out minnows and ended up with 3 walleye. So that made up for all the days frustration beforehand. They quit biting after dark.
  9. Thanks. I've been using Fireline for years and wonder if that affects the walleye catch. And I'm sure you'll be the next person the clean the ramps again after this storm today, lol.
  10. Showoff, lol. What type of line are you using? As always, I got a question.
  11. I would think there would have to be a few. But I would guess they are in the mid to lower lake. To have a fish like that, it would have to live in a spot with lower fishing pressure than the bottle neck of the Upper Lake where lots of walleye fishermen focus their efforts. It would have to have the habit of staying in a very local area. Maybe it has it's own little creek or sunny mud flat it likes to spawn and goes right back to the big water.
  12. I don't see how it would change anything to do with the spawn because Bryant creek also flows into Norfork and it is a pretty good sized river. But I'm sure they will swim way up and make the fishing more interesting until they migrate back to the lake.
  13. I've never put in at Empire, but it is probaby a better ramp.
  14. Yes getting good minnows is a big pain, especially since I don't live down there. Getting them transported from here to there alive sucks and keeping them down there in a creek and not getting found by someone is a pain to. I think I may try catching a bunch and putting them in a trap on the lake somewhere. I really think it might work great, especially with multiple poles and yes using a stickbait at the same time to make chances a little better.
  15. It is full of bass on the lower end where the water starts to warm up. Creek arms warm up better than the main lake. You can put in at Rockaway Beach for free. The ramp is easy to find.
  16. I think I may try to float some minnows or creek chubs on bobbers and see how that will work. And also try my luck at the patience game.
  17. how deep is the bait when you are getting the bites?
  18. That's not a huge numbers catch, but sounds like a quality catch with a technique that's surefire it seems. I bet them crappie were good sized also.
  19. What do you guys mean by behind the boat? Is the boat moving really slowly? Are you drifting with the wind?
  20. Ducky, I get the impression that your brother is a blast to hang around with, lol. Sam, you're making me hungry with all that smoked fish talk. I had planned on trying to go fish some today, but I've already got stuck twice in my driveway today in my 4 wheel drive. This snow/ice/slush is hard to deal with.
  21. Wow that has got to be a fast boat for being such an old turd, lol. I'm not bashing it though because I have a very similar model. A Straum with stick steering and 65 hp. My motor looks just like yours.
  22. I bet you did. It's hard for people to get out in this weather. I figured the ramp was still unuseable, but I am glad it is good to go. Tomorrow after it quits raining might be a nice time to be out before the next cold snap. It's nice to hear the whites are around!
  23. No, I haven't even been up there yet this year because it's border line to far to justify the drive for me, but it the past I have and others have caught them pretty well this early, defintely before the whites even think about it, and then of course during the white bass run can be ok, but not as good as before. I will probably wait until I hear a good report before I make the drive. It's just easier for me to go to Bull Shoals, but it sure is nice being able to keep them 15 inchers up there.
  24. For a pile like that, I'd almost go shovel a ramp for ya! What a beautiful pile of fish.
