We like Vanish gold 8# we use it on all of our reels. I took my brother out with it and he was able to land 14 bows from the dam to Wildcat, it was his firsty time in a boat on White River. He could not believe how sensitive the line is. Just make sure the line is wet when you tie your knots.

We have DSL about 1/2 mile from the house and the phone company says we are screwed. Alltel is $59.00 a month and I used it last night and it worked great with 2 bars on the USB card. Alltel has a 15 day free trial and you can get $100.00 rebate on the card, it cost $100.00 so its free after the rebate. I uploaded pics to photobucket in seconds instead of 10-15 minutes. same for down loads. It is as fast as any DSL I have used. Tomorrow I will try to find a speed tester to see. We dont have great reception here but its better than dialup way better, my wife teaches school and there is a site she teaches from and the usb card will access the NOVANET. Hey its great and we don't loose service like we do with the Dishnetwork Sat. 15 day free trail!!

Well today I am trying the Alltel, usb card internet for two weeks. it sure seems faster for down loads, have not tried to up load anything yet. But its way to heck better than Dial up and cheaper than Hughs or Wildblue. Plus the usb card can be swithed between computers I am told. Ours in on the newer gateway PC. But its pretty darn fast. With the way the water is running, should it continue the small bass boat will be fine. Last week I saw some big bass boats on the river one with a 250HP Yamaha several with smaller around 150hp motors. The big thing is watch the wake, the river boats dont handle large wakes very well. One rude dude was doing his best to swamp the river boats. Was told some of the older guides are pretty good with the old David and Golith slings and golf balls. So please watch the wake. There is a fellow with a white bass boat a Whaler I think with Florida reg, that is cutting everyones drift off, if someone knows who he is they need to explain the bopat on the dfrift has the right of way. Not him running in short and cutting the drifting boat off. John

Unless there is a major drop in water level like the dam breaks or they open the flood gates, there no bank to fish. I would plan on hitting th river at lest there is some shoreline in the BSSP area to fish.

I think its a lot simpler than most posted. Cavenders Greek Seasoning is about all you will need for a rub. Give the butts a coating the night before and allow them to sit int he frig. I use a meat therm. and take the butts to a temp of 175F, when done it should pull apart with a couple forks. A properly cooked butt will fall apart when dropped on the counter. a large butt will take about 3 hours to cook at 235F, kind of the plat as mentioned. As for wood, dont use wood that is old and moldy and covered in mildew. Seasoned wood, and if you want once the fire is going blackberry brairs, wild cherry and fruit wood will do better thant most nut woods. Stay away from Black Walnut. Several years back at a Memphis in May comp. I took best with this simple recipe and really poed the high dollar cooker guys off. Just fair warning there are a lot of people out this week with bass boats, two swamped and one on the bottom today down river from Cotter I was told. I do know for a fact there are two rive rboats on the bottom. There is also a missing Supreme white with a Purple flake streak missing. last seen 1 1/2 miles down river from Ranchette on the bottom upside down. Tomorrow the COE is calling for six generators, maybe that will scare the bass boat people off.

Late Saturday night the storms took out our electicity, so this lead to going to sleep early like they say when the chickens go to roost. Well we woke up before the rooster did and had nine hours of sleep. Power was still off, so what to do??? The river sounded good, boat was still hooked up from Weds. trip ooff we went into the darkness. We decided to fish Wildcat to Cotter, we hit the water about 6:30am foggy overcast, slight sprinkle. Just below the first bend on the north side is a Sportsman Resort boat under the water. we caught fish off of it then moved to the middle dragging (shush) Power Bait, I was throwing a fire tiger rogue at the bank. We did pretty good I was suprised at the rainbows that jumped on the rogue, most when it hit the water on the first twitch. We continued down to Cotter which was a pretty fast trip, a fellow caight a nice brown male looked to be 6 lbs or so in the shoal by Denton Ferry RV park. My best rainbow came between the bridges against the south shore. Normally I can hook a brown or three on the north shore but not yesterday. We decided to head back up river so we went on to to Stetsons the bank across from Stetson's was pretty hot for small bows on orange black striped panther martain. Caught a few bos in the hole on the north shore just above the Whitehole Rapids. I had another rod ready with the ratehr large Rapala husky Jerk bait dirfted over the north shoal and made the perfect cast and thump a ground shattering fish hit as I tried to work the fish and the boat into slower eddy water the fish wrapped around a bush and broke the line before I could work it loose. We fished out way back down to the island below Sportsmans. I was again throwing the fire tiger, fishing had slowed as I lobbed the firetiger over the gravel bar bewteen the islands a really nice Cutthroat hit it, big fat one. Go him to the boat measured 18 1/2 with a 12 inch girth, I reached in the bag for the camera and it was not there!!! Wife just happend to take it out for a project for one of her classes and did not put it back. So the fish swam away to fight another day. Yea I released a nice fish, out of the 41 fish we caught yesterday even the ones on power bait the only one gut hooks was a bow on the Panther martain. We have a15hp Merc four stroke and it still has 1 1/2 gallons of gas about half of the 3 gallon tank left. Thats a run from Cotter to Stetson's plus fishing in between. Thats just incredible MPG consdiering the high water Wd. we had fsihed from Ranchette running up to Redbid shaols then down to well bwlow the mouth of Buffalo for some smallies and back to Ranchette and when I filled the tank all I could sqeeze in was .8925 of a gallon. $3.51 cents of gas. These four strokes are sure fuel effecient. Now if I had a smaller truck. Taxidermist.

Just wait till the air boat flips. I have some friends in Lower Louisianna and a couple in Florida that are big into airboats. One in Alaska has a 504 Merlin (super big block 454 chevy race prepped) at som epoint the linkage will either break or uncouple and then the ride will be wild. You could approach the owner about MUFFLERS!!! $100.00 in muffler work would make a lot of people happy I bet.
