  1. Well? Are y'all still doing the OAF thing on the 28th? I'm taking Monday the 23rd off to hit Cardiac Hill, so I figured I'd goathead and take Friday the 27th off and head to BSSP. What gives?
  2. Yup, the Timex Ironman line has served me well for years.
  3. I really get into Memorial Day at Jefferson Barracks, always have. Yesterday afternoon, I went by after the rains to see if I could catch a rainbow there... no bow, but I got some shots I thought I would share with y'all.
  4. Fully agreed FFM, way to go. I would also like to thank all that have so unselfishly served us and our great country. Especially this guy, my uncle, whom I never met. I wish we had shared times and not a name.... PFC Patrick I Nelms DOB 09.08.48 US Army MACV - KIA 11.04.68 Quang Ngai SVN PH/BS P39W L18 You will never be forgotten Uncle... Your Nephew
  5. Phil, as I told you yesterday morning, it was an honor and a privledge to go out with the Veterans. What a great bunch of guys, and the stories they can tell.... whoa. We had a blast. The whole experience was awesome and one that I will never forget. Thanks for all the hard work you, your family and staff , and the guys from PHW and TU put into the day. It was first class. Aaron and I will send/post some of ours pics later. Now I have to play catch up on my duties around the house, and tomorrow its back to work. Ugh. Pat(fish)
  6. Yak, just like zsmith said. I just wear my felt sole wading boots <feel the purists cringe> with some cheapo neoprene socks and shorts. Works like a champ and totally comfy. You may look like a wet hiker, and you won't be in an Orvis ad, but then again, who does? Except the Orvis model guys that don't really fish anyway. Plus, you can sit in your canoe and the tops of your feet have absolutely no chance of getting sunburned. JMO.
  7. Old guys seem to have that problem.
  8. if anyone has heard when we'll get some rain here in Missouri. <white flag has officially been raised, I give>

troutfanatic, have you every tried the same deal with a bag of Funyuns instead of Cheese Nips?
  10. Just say the word.... and I'll see if the warden will give me a pass.
  11. Unfortunately, I work in STL and The Man works in Houston, TX. Otherwise, I'd walk to his cube and thump him on the melon for limiting my trout porn viewing.
  12. I'm in! Love the place, warm water species in the summer and trout in the winter. Plus, you can cap off a few rounds to boot!
  13. Lilley, I'm sure your video skills will only improve with time. You're vids are always a hoot no matter what the quality of the video. The Man and his bandwidth protection. Ugh.
  14. Lilley, is it a youtube video? The man took away our youtube privledges here at work. Guess I'll have to wait til I get home.

You'll be fine SIU. I've been floating with my buddy Hippie Tim and we tied his wide belly aluminum canoe to the top of one of his 80s Caprice Classics and it never so much as moved.... and he hauls a$$ down the interstate and the gravel roads.
  16. Personally, I put the fish a gallon freezer ziploc, fill it with fresh tap water, squeeze or suck out as much air as possible(air is the enemy), seal, and lay flat in the deep freeze. Works like a champ. Also, like Dutch said the vacuum sealers are really good, of course it probably depends on the quality of the sealer, plus the bags are kind of pricey. My girlfriend freezes fresh herbs after she vacuum seals them and when thawed they are fantastic.
  17. Congrats! Nice bucketmouth! Great to hear that flukamania is coming around.
  18. Hilarious!
  19. Yeah, I knew, guess I should have said, "upon your safe return". I did say "whenever you have a chance". Didn't mean to bust your chops. Thanks Phil. Preshadit.
  20. Not to beg, but please, whenever you have a chance. That would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  21. Come hell and high water I'm hitting Meramec tomorrow morning. Anyone else? I'll be there until Sunday. Guess I should bring a deck of cards and a few adult beverages...... while we wait for the water to settle. I heard if they get less than a quarter inch this evening, it should not change conditions all that much. I have 2 old lawn mower batteries in the truck to use for weights.
  22. (NOTE: Looks to me like you're having more of a problem holding that pig!) Well played my friend...
  23. Oh good grief! The way some people are about fishing regs is so childish. Its not like the rules are hard to interpret or follow. I just wonder, do they just not care? Are they just ignorant? Then I always go back to, stop wasting your time wondering why idiots do what they do, they'll get theirs, one way or another.
  24. Welcome Steve! I love floating the Huz and Meramec for smallies. You are one lucky dog to have all that at your disposal.
  25. Wow, thanks Bill, Don, S&M, and Skeeter. I really appreciate all the feedback, we'll find someplace to camp. After all, I've still got 6 weeks. Skeeter, I remembered seeing that someone on here was from Manchester/Lampe, just couldn't remember who. Now I know. Guess I could always set up camp in your yard.
