  1. 11.21.07 Hit Wild Acres at lunch, around 11:30 am. Caught 5 in 30 minutes, then it started to pour down rain and they turned off. Soaked, back to work. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
  2. 11.16.07 Lunch time at Wild Acres... brought 2 stocker 'bows to hand, both on glo-balls. Probably missed 6 or more, a little slow to pull the trigger. All in all good times for the 35 minutes I got to spend there.
  3. Walker lake is behind the Kirkwood Community Center.... KCC 111 S Geyer Rd Kirkwood, MO 63122 Get Directions (314) 822-5855 MoMuskies, I haven't fished Suson this year, yet. I know it gets a lot of pressure, even during the week, lots of old timers/retired guys, man I envy them..... probably try and get there over the weekend sometime. PM me if you wanna join.
  4. I just hit Wild Acres at lunch again today. I started talking to a guy that was already there (a cop, so you know it was absolute truth) and he told me that the "fish truck" had just left and the guy was going to all STL waters and putting in lunkers(5+ pounders), numbers depending on size of the water. As information... Oh, almost forgot, I had two hits and one landed, a largemouth that went about 12 inches on an olive BH woolie. Back to work.
  5. Forsythian, sorry, I talked to my buddy last night, he said it was just a little too long of a drive from STL. I tried to find her a good home though, good luck.
  6. I have a buddy that may be interested, I'll get back to you tomorrow.
  7. Gear in vehicle. I will be there at opening. Hope to finally put some faces with names. Driving a green Toyo 4Runner with a license plate cover, "FLY FISHING IS A STATE OF MIND". Good times....
  8. WillyBill, as luck would have it, the furnace went out in my rental house so I "have" to take Thursday off to tend to that. Ugh, being a landlord is a PIA sometimes. I figure, what is the point of coming to work on Friday? If I can swing it, I'll be there. I'll let you know on Thursday after the furnace fiasco....
  9. Foz, that is most impressive, never even crossed my mind. Anxious to see what others here have to say.....
  10. I hit Wild Acres at lunch for an hour, two hits, no fish, maybe a little put off by the sun and there was a ton of moss around the bank up to 12' out. On the upside, I wasn't the only one there that scored a donut.
  11. Hey FFM, oh, I forgot about Walker, I'll probably hit that on the commute home every now and then. Sweet! I have only fished at Busch Wild Life in the past and used pretty much the standard park fare. BH wollies, brown and green roaches, glo-balls, etc. I'm hitting Wild Acres here in an hour or so and I'll let you know what's working this afternoon. Peace.
  12. Aww man! My older brother is turning the big 4-0 that day! darn! Let me know if y'all are gonna go another time. I need some BSSP time, bad. Have a great time.
  13. Just a little reminder, they put some fun a little closer to home for some of us yesterday. Trout in Saint Louis area lakes and ponds. I went to Wild Acres Park (Ashby and Midland, north of Page) yesterday morning looking for some... caught a 10" largemouth. Not a trout to be seen. However, since its only a couple of minutes from work, I went back at lunch, still nothing. As I was getting ready to head back to work, the MDC truck pulled up and dumped 500 (that's what the driver told me) trout in. Woo-Hoo!!! If any of you work out this way, look for me everyday at first light and around lunch time. I drive a green Toyo 4Runner, fly rod in hand. Its not much, but a fix is a fix. Tight lines all.
  14. I'm in, just say when! The company I work for (in their infinite wisdom) re-did the vacation stuff and I have 96 hours to burn before the end of June '08. Only 2 days I must use in '07, but can use more, so let me know, may make a weekend of it and stay at Lost Creek.
  15. Oh Jeremy and Summer, I hate both of you! LOL!!! What a kick a$$ night of fishing! Congrats, to soon to be Momma and Poppa. You have no idea how much weight this gives me for getting down there with the love of my life more often, thanks again.
  16. I will NEVER FORGET. That is my neice's birthday. We were supposed to go to ChuckECheese. My sister said, "maybe we should just stay home." To which my brother-in-law and I replied, almost in unison. "There is no way that those bastards are going to ruin a 3 year old little girl's birthday! If we don't go, they win!" We went to ChuckECheese, some friends met us there. My buddy Hippie Tim walks up and says to me, "We're under seige". I said, "I know, but hey, Bonnie(my neice) wants to catch some bluegill at your pond after we eat." We did go fishing, the kids had no real idea, but yes all adults commented on the eerie silence. I call her every year and sing Happy Birthday to her. After all, its HER day. NEVER FORGET..... EVER.
  17. Sounds like you would have been better off using a good old fashioned pickle bucket. LMAO!!! Guess that's the last "free stuff" you'll be getting from them.
  18. ANY and ALL tricks and tips are welcome. I've tried several times and I just can't seem to nail it. Help a brother out.
  19. Wow Leonard, I doubt ANYONE can top that! These are a couple that are in my top ten that I personally have taken. The guy on the left is my buddy Dave with a 6# 4oz. bow from Bennett. The fish on the right was my girlfriend's first fly rod trout, not bad.
  20. Matt, you and my girlfriend are going to be best buddies. Her father was a photographer in the military, so she has "the background". She says I have a good eye, but I shoot film from a cheapo 35mm that someone gave me. Great shots. You ever do any i-Stock stuff? She makes a little pocket money doing that, mostly recycles it into camera gear.
  21. Hey Matt! Welcome. Nice sites. See you on the water.
  22. JD, isn't what you just said "Eskimo Bashing"?
  23. Its all part of the animal conspiracy I tell ya!
  24. I am totally jealous of all that are blessed to live so close the beautiful waters of Taneycomo. I hate you all!!! Just kidding, have a great Labor Day Weekend and be safe!
  25. Well, Centerpunch, and everyone else, I'll be very interested to see if you fish during the day this weekend. Hopefully this is the last weekend for the amateur canoers/professional drinkers on the stream. Myself, I plan to spend most of my weekend in the backyard with a cold one. Be safe y'all, and let me know if you brave the crowds how you do.
