  1. try the Eugene Bend knot for fluoro, works good and easy to tie.
  2. Fished from 9 til 3, tough out there for me. Caught one bass and 10 crappie. Crappie tasted awful good for supper. Fished jerkbait and A rig, nothing on them, caught the bass on crappie jig, go figure. Water was 39 when I started, found 42 degree water. Launched at Big M. Good luck when you go and be careful.
  3. Heard some story of water temp. Sat. was 39 in the Big M area.
  4. What would Saturday be like after the rain? Anyone experienced this before in the past? I am sure some will be out, just curious of how optimistic people would be.
  5. Friend of mine, Doyle Price, someone on here might know him, said that he has caught them years ago on Table Rock on a red jerkbait. Thought he was crazy, but maybe not. I consider Doyle to be a good fisherman, well, better than good.
  6. Fished a tourney on Taneycomo one January, 14* at take off ice freezing on the ramp as you pull out and freezing before next boat got in the water. Absolutely hurt me to fish that day. Never done it again. I will say, best day on the Rock I have ever had was 35* cloudy and windy with snow spitting. Caught a lot on jerkbait that day and many were over 3 lbs. I actually crave those days on the Rock in early spring. Today however, just too dangerous to be out there. I wouldn't even be deer hunting in these temps.
  7. My most productive colors have been a variation of Table Rock shad (rogue) on cloudy days, and blue back chrome orange belly on sunny days. If no wind I try to throw a grub in the same places. Never really had a lot of success on the grub, so I end up heading up kings hoping for dirtier water. My biggest problem is not color but finding those small locations they like to hand out in. That is why we fish I guess, to solve the puzzle. Stay warm guys.
  8. jolicious can you post a few more pics of that painting station. thanks
  9. Since it is too cold to throw the stick, lets talk colors on Table Rock. What seems to be best on cloudy days and what seems to be best on sunny days. Let me know what you think.
  10. any part not frozen.
  11. Well didn't get skunked, caught 3 all on jerkbait, one keeper. Front graph would not turn on today, so was unable to look for deep fish. water was 45*, saw Champ and Donna once today sorry for not saying stopping by, but was getting ready to call it a day, and you two were fishing docks, didn't want to crowd in there. Well hope everyone had a great new year, great way to spend my birthday. Fished from 10-2:30. Hope you all better luck than me. Have a great year everyone.
  12. Bill My guess is that they have cut the shad into smaller schools and taken advantage of having fewer to manage.
  13. Does anyone know what size hooks they come with originally? I thought it was a 6, but was smaller than stock hooks, looked at a 4, bigger than original. Do they make a size 5? I have taken some off of my storm sticks to use, but running out of them. thanks for the help.
  14. Map reading and interpreting areas that should be quality before you get on the water. The pros study maps alot according to articles they put out, so how do we take advantage of that as well. I think it would really pay dividends during jerk bait season. Also, would like to know what those rolloffs look like on the map as well as a good bluff end. Thanks
  15. In kings pat 2 days and crappie was terrible. Anyone else seeing this?
  16. Crappie were on tubes and swimming minnows bass were on rogue, mcstick and jig. Bass were around 10 ft deep. Water temp. was 50 at 8:00 and 53 at 3:00.
  17. Fished today up Kings for crappie, had 12 keepers and they were good ones. Did a little bass fishing had 3 keepers. Crappie were 19 ft.
  18. That is what I heard, guy I know practiced on Friday, caught one over 10 on the rig. He finished in top 10 of OMTT. Good days are ahead with weather forecast.
  19. Not real deep, big fish was less than 10 ft. Deep, A rig fish little deeper.
  20. Fished with my good friend Bryant Ward today out of Baxter. Fished Big and Little Indian, caught around a dozen, with 7 keepers biggest little over 6 on a rogue. Caught all fish on rogue and A rig. Best 5 around 18 lbs. Water temp 42.
  21. Thanks for the info.
  22. Question. You say flats and I know what you mean there but are they just on bare flats or are they on brush piles or other cover on the flats? Never caugh them like that before and over the last 5 years I have caught a lot of them up Kings just never like what you are talking about. Just curious. Also, is this something that may only happen in the James?
  23. Crappie fished today in Kings, no good, muddy from Viola to deer bluff. Bass fished the dirty water caught over 20 with 6 keepers all on wart.
  24. Bo Video would not play. Can you repost please.
