  1. Thanks Slider. Which side do you fish in the spring?
  2. That there's funny. I don't care what anybody says.
  3. In the back of the coves, don't be afraid to throw your jig or spinnerbait right onto a gravel bank and drag it into the water. If the water is clear(ish) and they are shallow, they will spook easy right now. Fishing will be easier in 30 days when the spawned out fish are on the secondary points and pockets (and hungry).
  4. Rebel Pop-R Rebel or cabelas brand crawfish crankbait 1/8 oz jig head with multitude of grubs/tubes Plastic worm texas rigged 1/4 oz spinnerbait
  5. LOL! Brother, how does your boat float with those rigs on board?
  6. Much obliged. I'll give it a try. Above the knot makes sense.
  7. With higher flows and the need to get deeper, I wonder how some of you rig your weights. I've struggled with these conditions relying mostly on the weight I can tie into the fly.
  8. I see you . . .
  9. Condolences.
  10. Whatever the regs are, that little critter is coooool. Doesn't look like the little common snapping turtles I've seen. I'd let it go before the Man breaks down your door. To think, you saved it by catching and releasing a smallmouth. A double save.
  11. Monster! Details please. Lure, Depth, General Vicinity?
  12. The comment had nothing to do with where these fish were caught (information which wasn't available in the original post). The fish are all through the Missouri River system from STL up to KC (at least). The only stock points in that area to my knowledge are around STL(if Illinois does it) and the overflow fish from LOZ in the Osage. I'm curious to know if there are other stocking points. Apparantly there is some natural reproduction and current is necessary: http://www.arkansasstripers.com/hybrid-striped-bass-spawning-habits.htm
  13. I've often wondered about that wrench. The party line from MDC is that they don't spawn and that the population in the big rivers is overflow from the reservoirs and rivers where they are stocked. I'm with you, though. There are too many in too many places for me to believe it.
  14. If that's average, i want to fish with you and your friend. Whites and hybrids are mobile but a little more predictable this time of year. Wherever your friend was, fish between there and the nearest tributary. They cant spawn but think they can. Bird's advice about current breaks is gold.
  15. Drew, the guy is making a case for the rig, not insulting anyone. Fairly rational post. He never referred to the pic which is obviously a fake. Chill. He likes the rig and its impact on the lake economies around the state. If you don't, that's fine.
  16. Call it the Missouri Rig. All the other states are getting their due. Just make sure it works before you name it.
  17. That sucks. About 24 years worth of smallmouth. Brutal. Continue with Niangua Radio Silence.

  19. Thanks for the info
  20. What is the best OMD album for a man without one?
  21. Phil, both sides of the site are great. I like the change to the home page a lot. I hit both at least 4-5 times per week.
  22. Votes here for the Pflueger President and Asaro series spinning reels. I'm a rolling ball of razor blades of abuse and they keep on ticking
  23. Martin, I think we met in the parking lot around 1:30. Sorry you didn't figure them out. As I told you (assuming it was you), my brother in law and I only managed one a piece in 2.5 hours. One on a pheasant tail, one on a black wooly. Lots of tiny crappie on the pheasant tail. Hoping for a lot of ice free water this winter. Hope to see you out there again.
  24. ordering instructions? I'll take 24 of the orange #16 and 24 of the yellow #16. Tell me where to send the money
