Well, I managed 4 up by the mill and one at the lower access bridge by noon. It was tough. Since Jason and Brian still needed to catch a fish I took them upstream to the same spots that Ollie had fished. Brian struggled, but he said he learned a lot and wanted to come back and fish it again. Jason started catching fish, I think he ended up with five. I caught another 8 fish. I had a great time. It was good to fish with Ollie and Jason again and nice to meet Brian and his dad. Jason made the comment about how much different it was this week compared to last week and he was right. Big difference. There's always next year OLLIE. I'm up for the challenge.
  2. They might just be legitimate?!?!?!?! Cassel is starting to be a real leader and one heck of a QB. Oh yeah, how about Bowe now??????????? GO CHIEFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know it's a pain, but I was actually hoping for some wind. I just hope its not hurricane force.
  4. I wonder if this last rain brought the water up at Crane. It sure did around here. Pheasant tails, Hares ears and a variety of midges in 14-16's have always worked for me.
  5. Sorry you didn't have any luck Dennis. The fish are spread out a little bit now, but they are still in a few of the same spots as always. Last week I was fishing fairly deep, 3 ft. below the strike indicator, in the deeper holes. I had to deal with the wind too. I would just let it set and bounce in the waves and eventually they would bite.
  6. Great video. Looks like you guys had a blast.

Maybe that will all change on Sunday.
  11. Beautifully colored fish.
  12. I still use Vanish 2 lb. occasionally. It's getting hard to find around here too. I've pretty much been using P-Line 2 lb. for midges and such, and 4 lb. P-line for streamers. It's a very good line and has great knot strength too.

I didn't take the time to put a tape to her, but I guessed her to be about that too. Ollie's right, there are bigger fish in there. I'd love to hook up with a big male. I'm looking forward to fishing with you again too.

I was looking for you. I knew you were probably down below. We went down there a little after noon. Only caught rainbows down there though.

Jason is a great guy. I really enjoy fishing with him. I think he has a totally different idea about Capps now.

The beer can may have been Ness's because it wasn't mine. I was fishing with a little bug I came up with. I haven't figured out a name for it. I guess it would be most similar to a burlap, without the burlap, in olive. I've found it to work great on small streams and wild trout love them. BTW Wrench, I just watched your YOUTUBE video on tying Mohair leeches. Very good.

Yeah, well I was so excited I didn't even think about what was in the background. Usually nobody is around when I catch a good fish and I have to take the picture of the fish on the ground, which I really don't like to do.
  20. Yes. I have great luck with anything olive, and you don't have to use very small bugs either.
  21. I got a phone call on Friday from Jason Boothe, Denjac's son, and he wanted to do some trout fishing. We decided to try Capps. We met at the mill at 9:AM and MAN was it windy. It was blowing so hard upstream that it was making whitecaps and nearly impossible to get a good drift. Jason really wanted to fish the mill dam, so we geared up and headed for the water. I was first to strike gold, when on the second cast I hooked into and landed this nice Brown. I guess it to be about 17 or 18 in. Jason missed a couple of strikes, but didn't get hooked up. After a while we went downstream a ways. Soon we found a good spot with quite a few decent rainbows. We were both catching several average sized rainbows. I made a long cast upstream, using the wind of course, just above the deep pool. My strike indicator went down just like every other time, but when I set the hook I knew it was a better fish I just didn't know how much better it was. She took all of my line that I had laying at my feet and started peeling of more. This fish would not come up. She made several good runs before I got her close enough to see just how big she was. Jason saw how big she was and put his fly rod down and grabbed his net. On the second attempt he got her into the net. Man was I excited. Jason took a couple of pictures for me and we let her go back to her deep hole. After she was released Jason saw several eggs that she left behind in the net, she was full. A little later Jason caught a nice Brown he said was about 17". Unfortunately, the fish got out of his hands before I could get over to him to take the picture. We continued fishing for another hour or two catching a few more rainbows. Neither of us was done fishing so we took off and headed for Hickory where we finished the day off catching several more nice sized fish before calling it a day at about 4:PM. My thanks go out to Jason for both netting and photographing my biggest Brown Trout ever, and on little old Capps Creek for that matter.

We do too Dano. It's right up you're alley.
  23. I guess I'll say this ( which is what my Cowboy fan buddies have been saying for a long time ) it's a rebuilding year. I know, that sounds like BS, but they are a very young team and will be susceptible to ups and downs. I too am not a great fan of Cassel, but he is probably the best quarterback that KC has had since Gannon, and he was just a back up. Given time, I believe they will be a great team. Also, I really like Todd Haley. This guy has the drive to make them better than they have ever been. GO CHIEFS.................
