JDC, it would be great if you can make it. All you need to do is head east on HWY. 60. The road name is Wallaby Rd. ( Newton County ) and it's about 9 or 10 miles east of Monett. There is a MDC sign right on the corner. Turn left on Wallaby and follow it about 2 or 3 miles until the road forks, turn left to get to Jolly Mill. That's where we met last year.If you have a Missouri Trout Fishing map it will show you,but it's no big deal to find.

I think we should have at least one group picture this year and some fish shots too. I don't think we've done that yet. I haven't been to Capp's yet. I plan on going this weekend.
  6. I'm glad you caught a few fish. Which area did you fish? Every creek is running low right now. I don't know about the upper wire road section of Crane though. He may have been pulling your chain too, maybe not. We do need more rain to get these creeks up and flowing again.
  7. Funny guys. Oh well, Olliefest is coming up we'll see what happens then.
  8. My biggest problem was short strikes. I was throwing bigger bugs though, leeches. I could see them hit the fly and take off with it but a lot of them never took the whole fly into thier mouth. I missed at least as many fish as I caught and had a bunch jump off. I even tried a red zebra midge and caught a couple and jumped off several. I guess I just didn't get the hook set. The hook was sharp enough though.
  9. The stupid fish were very ready to bite, they were just SMALL. I was actually surprised that I didn't see any Parr marks on some of the fish that I caught. It was good seeing you again Chance, sorry I didn't recognize you. It must be the old timers disease. I'm looking forward to next year. I hope just they put a few more big fish in.
  10. Very nice brown. Here is what I posted on Dano's thread C&R at Roaring River. http://ozarkanglers.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=25653&pid=168292&st=0&#entry168292
  11. I had a great time. The food was great and much appreciated. There were a lot of fish in the river, but I only saw a few big enough to be considered lunkers. This is my best fish for the day. Olive leeches caught most of my fish.
  12. Happy birthday buddy.
  13. I will give the jig my vote. I've always got one tied on and at least 50% of my fish are caught on a jig of some kind.
  14. Now that's a nice fish Eric.

    Almost Time!

I always look forward to our stream cleanups. It was good to meet some new people. Overall, I would have to say that the Stream Team cleanups have made a huge difference to the creek and I'm happy to be a part of it.
  16. Sorry TF, but that's just too darn funny. Wheatie, you beat us all to the punch on that one. Still Wiping the tears away now.
  17. The old Lodge and the Sping cave are the only things that are still the same. It's a pity they had to build that new store. It just doesn't feel right. Thanks for the pictures. I look forward to seeing a few more.

    Old Hy E Bridge

I don't know the highway name, but if it's the old wagonwheel bridge on the outskirts of Granby, I know what you are talking about. We had a run in with a guy who said he was the owner of the property. He asked if we saw the " No Trespass" sign, which we didn't because we just dropped off a truck and headed upstream to put in. Anyway he said that they were going to stop allowing people to use that spot. Too much wild activities, is what he said. I think Chief had another run in with him after that. I'm not surprised he painted it up. Unfortunately, he doesn't understand who he should be mad at and has been pushed to the point of closing it to everyone. Since he didn't bother to introduce himself, we have no idea what his name is or how to contact him to get permission to put in or take out there.
  19. Hey, I thought there wasn't any fish in Hickory. Nice fish Jeremy.
  20. HAHA
  21. Very nice. Keep bringing those reports. Good luck with the New Years Resolution.
  22. Believe me when I say that I totally understand and agree with you. These people who have no regards for the rights and ownership of others mess it up for all of us who do. Like I said before I would never knowingly trespass. And if I did I would be respectful of the landowner and very apologetic, then leave the way I came in.

I'm looking forward to it. It's always on my calendar.
  24. I've stayed out of this thread completely until now because I beleive your analogy is totally off the mark. I respect all property rights, both on streams and off. The idea that you being in my house, in my easy chair, and drinking MY BEER, is similar to me walking onto your property while in a stream is utterly rediculous. 1) I have a lock on my front door. 2) I have obvious property lines. 3) I have a "No Trespass" sign on a corner post right beside my driveway entrance. If you don't want the wayward fisherman crossing your property line you should invest in a little signage or at least some purple paint. I, like most respectable fishermen, would recognize and respect that and turn around. If a property owner who knows these things might happen and doesn't do the necessary things to avert trespass, he should at least give the individual the benefit of the doubt and inform him of the property line and ask him to leave. There's no need to get nasty like a lot of these people do.
