I thought you were fishing a grub? Or is that the same thing? But yeah cranks and Ned's/grubs/Jerm Werm whatever the trendy name is caught fish. An honest non-biased try of the HD yielded nothing. No big deal. It happens. Doesn't mean it's a sucky bait. If it's what makes you weak at the knee's, by all means keep praying at the alter of the HD.

When the gulls started diving in to shad, we would go to that spot and fish. In a few minutes the shad would be gone and so with the bite. In a few minutes later we would see them diving in another spot. Motor over and resume. We would leap frog like that all day long.

I'd recognize that place setting anywhere! You need to straighten that knife up though. And they are a little close to the plate. I like to have a minimum of 1.25 inches from the edge. I'm more comfortable with a space of 1.5 inches. Looks more proper. But very well done!
