  1. Yes Yes YES!!!
  2. Both!
  3. A couple of smallmouth fillets. And fried taters to compliment. Now for the funny part. I meant to open a can of Pork-N-Beans but opened a can of Pintos I was going to use for a Cornbread salad. Ooops.
  4. There are no ethics in it. They shoot them by the barrel full and all are wasted. Gotta leave the gar and buffalo out or put some restrictions on them. They are native and have a place in the ecosystem.
  5. What about bow fisherman? What's the difference?
  6. Look, you knew exactly what you were doing when you posted that in the context that you did. And it worked on those to lazy to read the whole story themselves. And then you add in all of the assumptions and you have painted them as outlaw, rogue giggers that have no knowledge of species. Once again, they knew they were not aiming at a game fish. Because they do not know the exact name of a legal to gig, non-gamefish, doesn't make them outlaws. You state you are not a gigger, but you know what giggers gig? They only gig for food?
  7. I totally agree. Im not arguing that point. My point is that the OP was edited, if you will, to cast a dark shadow on the sport of gigging when nothing illegal was done. They knew the target was not a game fish. They stated that.
  8. BTW the way, I'm headed out to the river now. I'll be in and out.
  9. Why are you quick to discredit them? Really the only part of the whole conversation we know about is what's quoted. We don't know the content or context of what was said. But we have attempted to discredit gigging from a partial quote. If they gigged a game fish, I would be standing with you. But they didn't. They followed the law. But you are trying turn it into something it's not. It's you boys trolling.
  10. Of course when quote the whole phrase, it takes the juice out of the sour lemons you are trying to create. Kinda like alternative facts. “My dad and I didn’t really know what type of fish we had in the boat until we got back to the boat ramp,” said Nolan. “We thought it looked like a shad, but really couldn’t believe that it was because of its size.” So they knew it wasn't a game fish. But that kinda ruins the thought of them being rogue giggers. And then you add this tidbit: “Believe it or not, that shad was the only fish my dad and I got that evening,” he said. Not the only fish they seen, the only fish they gigged. Dang outlaw giggers! Shut them down now!!
  11. Coconut Tomato soup?? I can't do that.
  12. You ever make a chili omelet? Put a little on your hashbrowns? Wowza!
  13. So you boys can name every fish that swims in our waters by site? Or you can just name every game fish by site?
  14. Well I thought it was but I just couldn't find any station listings. Thanks!
  15. Is this actually on TV or just Internet TV?? I can't find any television station listings.
  16. Joe I can only aspire to be as prominent and legendary fisherman as you boys from the East Coast. Yes it was a very spirited fight. It was all I could do to hang on and bring her in. Rod bent and reel screaming, I was giddy with excitement. And I know you don't catch anything but large fish. I see it every time you post a pic. Even if it is the same two fish from years ago. You are my inspiration and the reason I fish. Please continue to carry the torch my brother!
  17. I went through literally hundreds and hundreds of photos I have of largemouth bass that I have caught. And a large portion of those from the exact same river. None of them have the scattered dark spots that this one has. Not this prominent. And that was my only reason for posting. But yeah other than that, it is just a plain ol typical largemouth bass.
  18. I don't think so. I think it's just one of those oddities of nature. But it could make for an interesting discussion.
  19. Not quite. The photo is the fact. The original statement never made the claim that this is the only oddly marked bass.
  20. Thanks Phil. Im trying to have a more positive attitude.
  21. A beautiful but somewhat oddly marked LMB.
  22. No baiting. Just asking for some actual proof. The easiest thing to do is sit behind a keyboard all day every day toss out factless information. Quite another to back it up. But that would require leaving the house.
  23. Do you have any evidence, other than antidotal, that collaborates your assumption that they do not enforce regulations?
  24. What about those hundreds of miles of special regs just for smallmouth? And it was the Feds that built those dams. Except for one. And the fact that smallmouth occupy thousands of miles of rivers in this state and walleye and spoonbill were only in a few hundred.
