Fantastic! But get that melted popsicle away from my duck! Like a fine rare steak, I prefer S&P only.

You’re right there. Two peas in pod.

I remember that! It was still early in the float and cold! -

I have a 119 and moved mine back a dropped it. Handles like a 169 only better. I tried it before changing the factory settings and it was like paddling a wobbly inner tube! As a side note, solo’s sides are lower than tandems and thus you don't have as much liberty at leaning without taking on water. -

I always start with Pork B Beans. Any brand will do. I’ve tried them all and the results are the same so I get whoever is cheapest in the store I’m at. You just can’t beat homemade. Although, Zarda’s taste a lot like mine.

Any time I’m trying something from the store, I always test it on it’s own merits. And most always they are disappointing. I get it though. You have to make a product as cheap as you can to maximize profitability. But that only goes so far. If I’m putting my name on the label, I’m putting quality in the can. I can’t do it any other way. I wouldn’t do it any other way. I’ve never tried Dickey’s BBQ but am sure it’s as good as any other chain. If you like chain bbq. So I was kinda surprised when I poured out the contents of these cans. I thought hey these look pretty good. As they say, looks can be deceiving. And for the most part they were. I’m sure for most of the weekend warrior back yard pit masters, these were great. For the rest of us? Not so much! These were certainly not the worst canned bean I’ve ever had the pleasure of doctoring up. And just for the record, I do this for entertainment. I make my own killer bbq beans from a recipe handed down from my mother, Joann Pierce. And I mean they are WOW!! So at any rate, these didn’t take a whole lot of doctoring. As with any canned bean, one good diced onion goes a loooong way. But these got an extra dose of goodness via St. Louis Mo. A good helping of Maull’s BBQ sauce. Now that sent these beans well over to the good side. It’s goes without saying that Texas makes a decent, edible BBQ. But some help from St. Louis sends it over the top in flavor!

Hey fellas! Remember me?? I did this the other day and wanted to share with you. I have heard about these for years!! And today, I finally had one! I always thought that it would never match the quality of a fine grilled T-Bone. And they don't. But they are a better quality and flavor than I anticipated. And they are still a value. The Waffle House 10oz T-Bone steak dinner. Complete with choice of hashbrowns, house salad and Texas Toast all for just $11.50. We had the whole place to ourselves. Yep, dining at its almost finest!

That just screams for a cold, dreary, winter day by a crackling fire in a turtleneck sweater!

I just smoked 5lbs yesterday! Float trip!

I do that myself.

Well, so much for all of those horrific gigging theories we've all had pounded into us for years and years.

And here is what it all boils down to. The law is as deep as your pockets are. Each local Judge has their own interpretation of the law. It may or may not coincide with your interpretation. If it doesn't, you have to start writing more and bigger checks and take the chance you find a more favorable judge somewhere in the system. Or pay your $20 and be sneakier next time.

Cast iron pan seared wild duck over Cajun wild rice. Simple in preparation, exquisitely complex in flavor!

Dang you boys have been busy!!! This thread just won't die and it shouldn't! Heres my meek contribution. A simple bacon wrapped grilled cheese. I made them many times with some crispy, fried bacon on the inside, but this time I put the crispy bacon on the outside.

Wild duck, in my opinion is to be eaten extremely rare. I fry the breast very quickly and season with only salt and pepper. There is a huge difference in Wild and domestic too. I wish Marty was still hanging out here. I know he would have some excellent recipes to share!

I've got some good news and some bad news. I'll do the bad news first. But really it's not bad news, it's all good. Nobody from here won the yak. And I really thought one of you guys had a really good chance because I sold the most tickets to you four! But it wasn't the luck of the draw. The guy that won it, donated it back for the auction we also had. It brought $160. Now the good news. We raised over $7k for the kids. I came in 4th in the wing contest, not high enough to get my name called. I want to thank Rick, Ness, Pete and Nick(???) sorry your name escapes me at the moment) for your heartfelt donations! I realize it wasn't for the really needy Merc owners, but these kids will appreciate it just the same!

Wasn't sure there would be enough room. Thought about putting DW on there. But decided not to do that to the kids. 🤣🤣
-
I've got the tickets filled out for everyone. I want to you for your selfless contribution. Even if you don't win, you money is greatly appreciated by all the kids! You guys Rock!
