  1. I'm a fan of Bullet smokers. I started out on the Brinkman's years ago because they were about the 1/4 of the price of a WSM. A lot of those on the BBQ circuit use the WSM and have great success. But once you learn to use the Brinkman, it will make the same quality BBQ. So I saw this smoker at Academy on clearance for 50% off. It is constructed much like a WSM only bigger. So I talked with my parole officer and she was fine with the purchase. Sweet! Today is the inaugural run. I put the pork shoulder on about an hour ago and later will be adding a chicken, ribs, and some beans. I am so freaking hungry right now I can't stand it!
  2. You too. It's a great weekend to spend with family.
  3. I think that is appropriate. Tight lines to you.
  4. I'm having trouble locating the link, like a link in a chain, not a clickable one to continue to another area of the internet, from your first quote, speaking about how the general public dismissed the MDC's studies, I presumed, then me, suggesting they submit their own data, to you suggesting that I said the two states should work together.
  5. That is very tragic news. I was going to meet him later this year. He was everything you said Phil and more.
  6. Well they should submit their research data and sampling findings to the MDC. It's going to be tough to garner any support to that theory with all the fabulous trip reports posted.
  7. It sure sounds like someone is not fond of Mo management practices. I'm still not convinced that adding feeders to multi thousand acre lakes will do much good.
  8. I blame most of it on social media. Everybody feels a need I guess to show everyone else what great fisherman they are. And I think it proves more of this was happening than we thought. I do have to, with the utmost respect, disagree with the premise that TR is a million times better now. As far as crappie are concerned anyway. There was by far better quality crappie coming out of there back then. Limits of 30 fish all easily exceeding 1 pound was the norm. Lots and lots of 1.5 - 2 pound were taken daily every spring. Nobody every kept a fish under 12 inches. You didn't have too. But things changed.
  9. So you are not familiar with the fact MO has both cold and warm water hatcheries that raise and therefore stock a multitude of species? Guess you wouldn't know since they are not Ned related. I guess the real question is, if KS management is so far superior to MO and the lakes are just overflowing with fish, why do you spend so much time in MO?
  10. Why would anyone hate Ned? Everybody loves a good magician.
  11. I'll admit ol Ned is quite a writer. He paints quite the illusion with his pen.
  12. I'm curious about his Trophy Fisheries business? Was this something he was doing while on the tax payer dole? And if the next state record cat come from one of his artificially fed rearing ponds, should it count? What are bonus fish? Are are you very familiar with MO's stocking program?
  13. I'm not aware of any public lake in MO that is even close to running short of any native species. And there is a monumentally huge difference in the fishing pressure in KS and MO. But is it really fair to compare the two? Small, overly stocked, over fed lakes that sound really like a Mississippi catfish farm to huge reservoirs that have a multitude of functions?
  14. How to feed catfish?
  15. I didn't blow the pic up until now to see what curse word cup you had. What quickly caught my eye was the brown bowls. We had that same set as a kid. I can't begin to tell you the pounds of brown beans I ate out of those bowls!
  16. Maybe the scratching, or what have you, comes before the appointment.
  17. It'll go away. I think that is waxy build up from too much Pledge.
  18. Can't disagree with any of this. Especially the population growth. That is where I point my finger. Just how well do we think those septic systems work on that very thin soiled ground! I don't even think the lake is the same color it used to be.
  19. Could be messier tomorrow.
  20. I'm sure it does. But it's nothing like it was when I was fishing back in the 70's and early 80's.
  21. It used to be as good as Stockton. And better for bigger crappie.
  22. I want in on this! Can I be in charge of the Hush funds? I mean Slush funds.
  23. You can't use that terminology anymore. It now belongs to The Donald.
  24. I think it's in the Wildlife Code that MDC agents can check you. And they have the same powers as any law enforcement officer. My code book is in the other room and I ain't getting out of bed to go get it, so I'll look later.
  25. It's really odd. They gave the right to AR citizens only. The case with the felon duck hunter will be very interesting.
