  1. I think I like getting Vitamin D naturally.
  2. Remember......you're dealing with Ned Heads here.
  3. Have you been to City Market lately? There is some cat there with a huge amount of spices. On the west side. You can buy it by the scoop. Holy Cow I should have cleaned house there but, I restrained.
  4. I agree on the store bought raviolis. Really the only way to go in my book. Can't imangine those poor ol' Italian mothers having to make all those! Where you are going to hate me at is, I can't seem to replicate that nasty ol' canned meat sauce like in a can of Franco American Ravioli. I really like it. I guess that is what I get for not growing up in an Itailian family!
  5. Great read!!! The resilience and strength of a woman is something that few men truly appreciate and understand. You sir have!
  6. Don't fish that area. Move down.
  7. Knowing where they are holding and where to fish for them is the key.
  8. That building is very beautiful inside and out. I have spent a lot of time in there. Glad to see Dan and Matt doing their part.
  9. The MDC does the stocking for the city under an agreement. I think it just happen to be a coincidence. But there is no doubt like you say some could have come from Big Spring park. And you are right, there are some really nice trout between Big Spring and Hickory! And they ain't too spooky!
  10. I don't think the city has ever put Koi in Hickory I think they are pets that have gotten too big and has been turned loose. I've seen goldfish in there occasionally as well. And somebody found an iguana a year or so ago. Ahhh those crazy Islanders! No I have never fished for them in Shoal. I thought about it many many times though. I'm not sure how you do it,you may be going to do it on the fly, but I like to bait up a hole in catch them on doughbait with a rod and reel. Which you could still bait the hole and then use the fly rod. If you do that I would bait the bottom end of the riffle. It will draw every one of them up out of that long pool.
  11. That is a read alright!! Did the poor souls put a bit of Wooster sauce in theirs?
  12. Actually I was thrown a curve ball for today. I won't be going through Nevada. Let's look at Monday. I'll send you a PM Sunday. Sorry.
  13. Never heard of the Ned? I too appreciate your candor and heartfelt honesty. It's absolutly refreshing to read a story like this and know you are not alone and someone is not afraid to admit it.
  14. I'm sorry Ron I thought I posted this the other day. I always look over at the creek below when crossing a bridge too. I thought everybody did??
  15. That is the exact stretch that I would work. Especially the first long pool passed the poop plant. But you're right in that whole stretch any of those long pools along through there are holding big carp. There used to be some big ol Koi in there too.
  16. It sure does. And some real hogs too!
  17. Oh and big yes on the pie!!
  18. Oh know and I believe you about the flavors! I just don't ever think of doing it. I have a few times looked at recipes like this but chickened out.
  19. I've really got together out more. I've never heard of this. Had to look it up. That's the drawbacks of nature being your theater I guess. I have heard of Marty Stouffer though!
  20. It really looks great Scott! I just don't think I could do that to crappie. I'm do dang old fashioned when it comes to some things.
  21. What the....!!!! Where was I!!! Thanks about the fish.
  22. Actually Jer, that may become the running joke.
  23. There's a couple that were caught in the river. Both on cranks and one in the very early spring also. You don't find them much bigger in the river. I'm sure both of the these gals were pretty near the end of their lifespan. Like you I bid them farewell and Godspeed for the rest of their days. And in conclusion I would just like to say that we all know that the Ned rig is a fabulous fishing option. I do not discount that one bit. I use it myself and have for years. I truthfully do not have anything negative to say about it. And I haven't. . But at any rate I'm sure I have not gained any friends over the past week. So I'll lay off on the negative posting of the Ned rig. I really just wanted to make a point that I didn't think we needed to talk about it every week and as wrench said go around in circles with the same discussion. Carry-on fellows and have a great time!
