  1. Hmmmmm has anyone tryed the bluff bank across from Blue Haven down to were it flattens out at Bee creek sometimes that can be an overlooked good stretch of rock. most folks just fly right by it. Some of my biggest trout every year come from there. I wish i was there now i wouldnt be sitting here spilling my guts about one of my little hidey holes.
  2. 1/4 ounce spinnerbait in some color of white is hard to beat year round during the warm summer months alot of fun to be had with buzzbaits and frogs over the big moss and grass patches in the bull creek and rockaway area. I dont know about the big secret of bass fishing on t como seems like the last few years have been down in size and numbers. a group of guys that stay at a resort that i frequint make it ther mission to clean 3 limits of bass a day during there stay and i dont think the population can take it but its legal so what do ya do but grit your teeth and go on
  3. If your going Bassin dont pass up roark or all the lay downs across from bluehaven to bee creek or behind the islands below the goldmine opps i better shutup sometimes i talk to much
  4. Got to drop in for a few days over New Years fished Thurs and FRI from Blue Havens dock and caught several trout some up to 16'' nice fish for dock sittin with power bait. Not my favorite way to fish but it sure beat the hell out of the 5 below zero it is here at home. THINK SPRING
  5. Some more info. it is my understanding that GENMAR is in a financial meltdown buttttttt! Erwin Jacobs CEO will be able to take a chapt 13 wash his hands of all the debt and dirt and then with a clean slate buy ranger ( considered the crown jewel of genmar) back. How nice what a guy he is. I have also heard that if all this falls through (witch i hope it does ) the WOODS family has agreed to buy back Ranger

  11. Talked to Gary at Blue Haven this afternoon MDC is on there way to help( thanks Phil for the help) maybe we wont have to wrap the boat in chicken wire on our thanksgiving trip
  12. Got down to the dock about 6 am Friday to find 4 OTTERS in the boat finishing up what was left of the seats. they are just so cute with foam and naughahyde on there little face NOT. so some more duct tape and quick poop rinse and off to the dam we went. Another good day of fishing caught fish from cable to Fall creek on 1/8 jigs up to 18'' lost a nice brown in the fall creek area and saw a large rainbow 10#s plus cruising the shallows in the same area .Back home now and cant make it back down till thanksgiving. since my boat wasnt in the dock last night im told the OTTERS started to eat the resorts pontoon. MDC was contacted and the reply was pretty much were sorry have a nice day.
  13. Fished Tues Wed and Thurs . Tuesday and Wednesday were a bit slow but did ok on 1/8 scupin jig with orange head (we call this the money jig) thurs was great friend Gary (from blue haven) and i boated several trout up to 19'' lots of fish in the 15 to 17 range nothing under 12 had an 18'' and a 19 '' small mouth best day i've had on taney in some time. A few side notes Tuesday morning I walked down to the dock only to discover that several OTTERS had chewed the bucket seats in my new RANGER to shredds and pretty much left a big mess. another thing i have seen twice this week there is a guide and i wont mention names making a living right now anchoring just past the cable at the dam and casting up stream with clients in the boat what a clown i would hate to think i was a guide and had to fish restricted water to put fish in the boat

  17. Hi folks I have been reading the forum for a few years and enjoy all the info and people. my name is Kelly i have spent 4 to 5 weeks a year on Taney since 1969 always stayed at Blue Haven current manager Gary and I grew up togther and are best friends. when we were kids if you could get a ten horse and a smaal boat to it we been in there up there over there and down there ( its a wonder we both lived to adult hood but what fun we had) . I fish mostly short creek to dam and love the jig and float . As i grow older some of the changes seem so sad I never would have thought that i would miss that silly little pirate boat holding up the Sammy lane but i do or Bob Klien giving me a half empty jar of eggs because i just spent my last quater on coke. miss the old Lake queen taking first time sailors for a ride down the lake and now i sits in dry dock serving beer to tired shoppers. some times i think i pass that kid in the 10 horse as i rocket up lake in a 20 foot glitter missle and think wow what an adventure this has been
  18. Spent the last week at BLUE HAVEN RESORT(nice place at a fair price) while i fished up lake and took a beating my son and his friend fished the goldmine to Bull creek area and limited out fairly quick everyday on white and chart. powerbait. also 2 guys staying in the resort bass fished all week from rockaway on down they reported catching 20 to 30 bass a day on buzz baits frogs and worms most were dinks with a few nice fish i think 5#s was the largest they said you needed wind and weeds to get bit
  19. Fished Wed. - Friday from Lookout to Fall Creek morning bite was tuff as nails Jig n float produced a few lite bites and I mean lite. Zebra midge took a few fish also. Afternoons with water on 1/8 jig bite would pick up some best bet we had was drifting a scud right down the middle a few nice fish but nothing to write home about. SIDE NOTE kayaks in the center of the lake at 6:30 in the morning in the fog are these people nuts or what???????????
  20. Fished Wed- Sat from Lookout to Fallcreek and did very well on jig and float. But here is my question on friday i watched a guide filet fish on the front deck of the boat while in the trophy zone while the clients were still fishing bagging up the filets and throwing the carcass overboard is this legal? How do you prove what size the fish were to start with.
