We were out of Joe Bald Saturday also fished to Baxter and only had 4 fish and one keeper. Ours were on arig and a jig. We also threw the kitchen sink at them!
Fished out of Bridgeport this morning looking for crappie and whites. Caught 3 nice crappie and 3 real nice whites! Two of them weighed over 3lbs. Really slow though. Caught the crappie in 12-17 ft and the whites trolling ing 20-25 ft.
Fished out of Bolivar landing. Caught a 24 in walleye on my 4th cast! Proceeded to catch 15-20 bass with 7 keepers no big fish, one nice white and one 11 in crappie. All in less than 7 fow. On redeye shad, spinnerbaits, wigglewarts.
Braved the storms this morning with L1. Caught about 10 eyes. 5 keepers between 15-17.5in bottom bouncing. 10-18 ft. Very good ratio for keepers lately and really only fished a couple hours before being run off the lake with a very heavy downpour! Also caught some nice bream, channel cats and one white bass.
Been keeping a fishing log/journal for over 30 years. I cant tell you how many times it has helped be get started on fish. Its very interesting to go back 30 years to see what I was catching them on today!
Camped this weekend with my son and his friends. Set out some noodles up the big sac arm. Caught these nice cats as well as a half dozen medium sized channels to boot. Biggest was 15.5lbs.
We got checked by the game warden as we were setting the noodles out. First time to be checked this year.
M&M- I like the MLF format also but the last tourney I fished on TR had 60 boats in it. Thats not a big one either but you would have to find 60 judges for that many boats. Looks like that would be very difficult not to mention tourneys that are a lot bigger.
My preference is green stren in 12lb test or lighter according to what you are targeting. It disappears in most water. I also use flourocarbon for some applications.
