Man Shoots Pit Bull In His House While Being Attacked.
oneshot replied to jdmidwest's topic in General Chat
Ok my situation.I'm not one to shoot Dogs,if I have a problem with a Dog I find the owner and tell them.If someone is having a problem with my Dogs I expect them to tell me. Years ago I lived in a small community that you could have animals. But they did have Dog Catcher and Animal Shelter if your Dog was caught running they would catch it and you would pay a fine. Well I had a AR person living next to me.I had couple Dogs in a Pen.Every time I would leave the house she would come over let my Dogs lose.I put a lock on the Gate, she distroyed the Gate. The Law knew what was going on. Well at the same time I turned couple Guys on the City Council in for Poaching, they got caught and fined.Well I left the girl let my Dogs out.The Guys on City Council took them out and shot them.I found out from the Chife of Police.Took them to Court they paid for my Dogs. Then had another neighbors Dog getting into my Chickens and Rabbits.I told them about it,they didn't do anything.I took pictures of the Dogs going this.Told them I was either going to take them to Court or they could pay damages. They paid me. Now where I live now I have had problems with Dogs in the past I go tell their owners. They tell me to shoot them.I tell them I would prefer they take care of it.Well one of them had a store in town.Come to find out one of their Dogs had been shot and made it home,so they paid out a bunch to the Vet to fix it.Well they thought I did it and they were mad at me even though they told me to shoot it.I went and told them I didn't shoot it.they said well we kind of figured if you had shot it it would be dead. I have to Dogs,I keep them in the yard, but they do slip out the Door every so often. They run just over to the neighbors property line and back home.Five minutes.Their good Dogs and I would be very mad if someone shot them just for being on their property. oneshot -

Like I say the Law don't mean anything to you.Makes a person wonder what other Laws even Game Laws mean to you. oneshot -
Man Shoots Pit Bull In His House While Being Attacked.

Well first off I'm probably way too old to be your son,and my Father has been dead for years. If your family is Law Men I would suggest they learn the Law before they go breaking it. But here is what the Missouri Conservationist said on it.But I figure you will just flip them off and continue to break the Law anyway. Missouri law protects dogs Missourians are permitted to protect livestock against marauding dogs, but a recent court case shows that landowners must show good sense in how they protect their property. The case involved a Webster County landowner who suspected that free-running dogs had killed his cow. He attached a foot-hold trap to the cow’s carcass. When a neighbor’s dog went missing, she found her pet caught in the trap. Setting a trap in this manner exposed any passing dog to injury, not just the suspected culprits. The judge in the case ordered the cow owner to pay restitution to the owner of the dog for its medical treatment. He also ordered a $1,000 fine but suspended that sentence, contingent on the cow owner’s good behavior during two years’ probation. Livestock owners are only allowed to shoot dogs that are chasing or killing domestic animals. However, the mere fact that a dog has gone where it should not go is not legal justification for harming the animal. Section 578.012 of the Missouri Revised Statutes make intentionally killing or injuring a dog a class-A misdemeanor. Violators also are subject to civil suits for damages. Ethical hunters do their best to keep their dogs off property where they are not wanted. Trespassing is illegal, so hunters should obtain permission before retrieving dogs that follow game onto others’ land. oneshot -

Your wrong on this there was a write up on it in I believe December 2006 Missouri Conservationist. And also I sued and won a case where a Guy shot and killed two of my Dogs. But I also had a Dog come on my property and done damage,I took pictures of it doing the damage.Sued it was settled out of Court. oneshot -
