I have been doing some reading and very little land did they buy! Most was donated. And they have been selling huge lots of timber off the land they own! I would trust that money would be used for someting constructive.

It was another ploy for the rich to get richer by telling the poor that things will be better and cheeper. When infact it always cost us more! The rich wants us all to work more for less that way there is a larger bottom line for their pocket. Its nothing new. Its been going on for years. Greed friends just selfishness and old fasion hard core GREED. Nothing more nothing less!

I keep hearing how under staffed they are however I find in the 2004 report they As of June 30, 2004, the department employed approximately 1,500 salaried employees and 730 hourly employees. 2230 employees. Thats 20 per county Avg.

Gavin, that report is ending june 30 2004 would there happen to be a more current one?

A man was stopped by a game warden in Northern Michigan recently with two buckets of fish leaving a lake well known for its fishing. The game warden asked the man, "Do you have a license to catch those fish?" The man replied to the game warden, "No, sir. These are my pet fish." "Pet fish?" the warden replied. "Yes, sir. Every night I take these here fish down to the lake and let them swim around for a while. I whistle and they jump back into their buckets, and I take em home." "That's a bunch of hooey! Fish can't do that!" The man looked at the game warden for a moment, and then said, "Here, I'll show you. It really works." "O.K. I've GOT to see this!" The game warden was curious now. The man poured the fish in to the lake and stood and waited. After several minutes, the game warden turned to the man and said: "Well?" "Well, What?" the man responded. "When are you going to call them back?" the game warden prompted. "Call who back?" the man asked. "The FISH." "What fish?" the man asked.

brownieman, I think we think alike.... I have voiced and will contuniue to voice. We dont need our grandchildren in a 99% tax bracket. We need to leave some oil for them. Maybe we need to leave a few fish and streams for them. Maybe we would like a low cost family time like fishing. Or would we rather it be so high only the very rich can afford it. American need to wake up and watch whats going on, stop being selfish and greedy. Just maybe they need to think about the children and grandchildren!!! But thats just a thought.

Many times we role over and say oh well nothing I can do about it. Well my friends thats why we have issues. We the people need to stand up for what it right, and stop the waste, payoffs, raping our natural resourses, using it all today and not caring about tomorrow just has to stop. I know a lot of people get tired of hearing someone complain about something but it gets peoples eyes open to where they pay a little more attention. If you went to get your car repaired and was told it would be 50000.00 would you just blindly pay it with out asking questions and see for your self if maybe there is someone cheeper. Or would you just pay it? Maybe you would just replace it. PEOPLE PLEASE WATCH WHATS GOING... OH AND DONT FORGET TO VOTE!!!!!

jcoberley replied to Terry Beeson's topic in General Angling Discussion
Terry, Good luck. Your kind of like a cat in respect to always landing on your feet. I am sure you will be fine. May God bless you my friend. -
there is a lot of other places to fish. And as you said it is the only place in Missouir like that so why worry! Just be quiet and move on. JMO

bryantsmallie28, You may be right. But if it wasn't for people saying someting there would not be any controls. If we the taxpayers just sit back and never said anything or voted this country would not be here! Belive me I have talked to a lot of ppl and wrote a lot of letters. Hel if we were not vocal we would still be British! Do you want you money going to Brazil???? If you do then please feel free to go there!!! Oh BTW thanks for the tip on commission meeting notes, I will be reading them! Someone needs to keep an eye open.

brownieman, I just wanted to know about what land they have used the money for location and usability! I am not asking of anything hard to expalne or am I. Maybe their afraid to explain or ashamed of where the money has went. Never the less I get the feeling that there needs to be some serious watching and explaning done and maybe even a class action filed. Their should not be anything to hide! JMO

Two fellas are fishing in a boat under a bridge. One looks up and sees a funeral procession starting across the bridge. He stands up, takes off his cap, and bows his head. The procession crosses the bridge and the man puts on his cap, picks up his rod and reel, and continues fishing. The other guy says, "That was touching. I didn't know you had it in you." The first guy responds, "Well, I guess it was the thing to do - after all, I was married to her for 40 years Three guys were fishing in a lake one day, when Jesus walked across the water and joined them in the boat. When the three astonished men had settled down enough to speak, the first guy asked humbly, "Jesus, I've suffered from back pain ever since I took shrapnel in the Vietnam War. Could you help me?" "Of course, my son," Jesus said. And, when he touched the man's back he felt relief for the first time in years. The second guy who wore very thick glasses and had a hard time reading and driving , asked if Jesus could do anything about his poor eyesight. Jesus smiled, removed the man's glasses and tossed them into the lake. When they hit the water, the man's eyes cleared and he could see everything distinctly. When Jesus turned to the third guy, the guy put his hands out defensively. "Don't touch me!" he cried. "I'm on a disability pension."

A man went fishing one day. He looked over the side of his boat and saw a snake with a frog in its mouth. Feeling sorry for the frog, he reached down, gently took the frog from the snake, and set the frog free. But then he felt sorry for the snake. He looked around the boat, but he had no food. All he had was a bottle of bourbon. So he opened the bottle and gave the snake a few shots. The snake went off happy, the frog was happy, and the man was happy to have performed such good deeds. He thought everything was great until about ten minutes passed and he heard something knock against the side of the boat. With stunned disbelief, the fisherman looked down and saw the snake was back with two frogs!

LOL Nice thought and I agree. Sorry for putting in my 2 cents! I have found night crawlers are the best bait day in and day out! I guess one might say I show up with a box of worms and my old real with a new pole and have a blast. One never know whats biting but worms always catch something!

I have called and all I am told is to review the report for 2006. I have did that and when things are lumped in to 13 items its imposable to review. County Assistance 0.80% Capital Improvement 18.28% Fisheries 6.68% Forestry 8.70% Wildlife 9.30% Outreach & Education 9.31% Private Land Services 4.54% Protection 7.82% Resource Science 6.94% Regional Public Contact Offices 2.49% Administrative Services & Human Resources 17.18% Design and Development 6.61% Administration 1.35% That’s the report can anyone make heads or tails out of it? Ok lets pick one, Capital Improvements. Hum well I can see that they spent 18.25% On what Land, Better accesses, Rest rooms, Maybe what? Like I say its hidden. As to the Brazil land. I don’t think any Missourians will ever see or visit there. And just how will that help Missouri or USA citizens? I feel that is a rip to the taxpayers of Missouri that is funding them. I just want to see a little more access for everyone including the needy and I don’t mean just Branson area. It looks like the bulk is used near Branson/ Springfield area. Like I said reports don’t show tangible hard down to earth asset items. A little better informed and accountability would be a great thing and all this would be water under the bridge.

Can anyone tell me about drying fish? And what it is seasoned with. I know the native americans dryed fish but I was thinking a little more up to date. I didnt want to wait for a windy 100 degree day to air dry it. LOL I thought it might make a good snack when camping. And can one jurk or dry crawdads?
