Me my wife and daughter went to warsaw last night. My wife was making candy fore Christmas with here aunt. This morning me and Mekayla went out running around. We saw one guy fishing below the dam, when I asked him if he was catching any he pointed to a bucket, when I looked in I was surprised he had 2 nice walleye and 3 or 4 keeper crappie. I didnt think anything would be going on up there so I didnt even take a pole! I'll be ready next time. We did manage to pick up about 8 lbs. of percans. slider

Yes phil you are a little behind, but Im glad you posted this I thought about posting when I heard this but didnt. I had fished with Charlie on ocasions, any time I was stumped on a outdoor question all I had to do was call Charlie and he had the answer. He will be greatly missed. slider -
I was down to the last day. I loaded up and went to Ava this morning didnt see any while I was sitting but jumped 3 deer at the edge of a field and managed to kill one of them. It was a small button buck. This was the first deer I had seen all season and I had hunted prety hard. Got an email last night from the guy I bow hunt on and he says he has been seeing about 20 deer on the farm. So I'm redy to go back to bowhuting. slider

My 12 year old stepdaughter just got home from a hunt with her dad at Forsyth with this spike. One shot and she hit the top of his heart. While her dad went to get the 4 wheler a big 8 point walked right up on her, nothing she could do she had allready filled her tag! Maybe next year.

I killed the doe on election day and the buck tuesday. This made my third kill of the year on deer. I was hoping fore a bigger buck but I had to try out my new lighted knock. I had been looking at these lighted knocks but couldnt see paying 10 bucks fore them. I saw a video on U-TUBE where you could make your own, so I got all the stuff and put one together took it out to the yard and shot it afew times it worked so I was ready to let one fly at something. Saw turkeys as soon as I got out but no shot. About 4:45 the buck came to the food plot, he stoped under a persimion tree and started picking up persimons funny thing happend then he started sneazing. He sneazed about 10 times and keep shaking his head, he picked up another one and did the same thing again. I think he must have got ahold of some green ones! He moved in to about 15 yards and I leter fly. Made a bad shot hit him high but hit him in the backbone and he went right down. The funny thing was my new knock never came on, I was kind of agervated but did Have a buck on the ground. Good luck to all this weekend sounds like its going to be cold opening day fore gun season. I caught a fish at warsaw one night and didnt know what it was, after I searched fore a picture that is what I thought it was. My first thought was it was a skipjack. did the fish have gold around its eyes? slider

I filled my secound tag with a shotgun this morning. the bird wighed 171/2 lbs and had a 10 inch beard. when I got home there were 2 gobblers in the field behind the house so I grabed my bow and put the sneak on these 2 and shot under the first one. Only took 1 arrow with me and wouldnt you know they jumped up and then just stood there! I just had to stand there and watch them walk over the hill. slider

bclift, there was a little bit of luck with this bird. im not really that good! i was in a tree stand, there were about 10 or 12 birds came in the foodplot and were going to cut across when they spooked from something and started right down toward my tree, i had a big branch that hid me preaty good so i could draw. when the first one steped out i let it fly. it was maybe 5 yards from the tree. i had spooked some birds that came in from the other direstion about half hour earlier. i dont know but it could have been the same bunch. this is the first year i have hunted this spot, and me and my daughter have killed 3 turkeys so fare, she killed hers in just about the same spot as i killed mine, funny thing i had set in a blind fore 2 days trying to kill my secound bird with a shotgun and hadnt seen nothing but deer, so i decided to try for one of those when i killed the turkey. ill be there first thing in the morning loking fore deer.(or another turkey). thanks everybody slider

me and my daughter just got back from her first squirel hunt. she did pretty good on her first trip. killed 3 young greys. 3 in 5 shots with my browning 22. saw a bunch but had trouble getting shots with all the leaves. saw a few acorns on the ground seems a little early fore acorns. when we gote back on top of the ridge started finding fall mushrooms, seemed early fore these to. we picked half a walmart sack full. saw 4 other people and they had 3 sacks full, after picking yesterday. she has allready told me she is ready to go next weekend or maybe even skip a day of school! slider

me, dad, an uncle, and a cousin made off fore the dam yesterday about 5:00. the weather didnt sound to good, but got the chance to go so off we went. it rained part of the way up but cleared about the time we arrived. my uncle caught a 9lbs flathead as soon as we got there i caught one that was maybe a pound or two soon after. i thought this was going to be a good night catching 2 cats even before dark. just about dark when the fishing should pick up the sky opened up and rain and lightning ran us back to the pathfinder. we set fore about an hour and the lightning moved so we went back to fishing caugt e few but called it quites about midnight. final score 4 whites 3 crappie and 1 flathead and 1 chanelcat. oh yea 4 very wet old men! it never stoped raining all night after it started. had a good time anyway, dont get to fish with my uncle and cousin very often. went out to the wifes pathfinder this morning and it smelled like 4 wet old men. gotta go try and get that smell out before she gets home and we leave fore vaction slider

wayne i dont really know what the whitebass fishing was like in swan or around forsyth this spring, i didnt fish but one time because of the water being so high. i know the past 4 to 5 years the whites havent been so good that would be my reasoning to stock in bullshoals. as fore tablerock they come threw around the james shocking the fish fore the eggs to produce hybrids so why cant they stock them in table rock? if we have to suffer the whites not biting fore 2 or 3 days after they shock why cant we reap some of the benifits from some hybrids being stocked in the rock? just my opinion. slider
