  1. Can't speak for all the pro's but, I followed Scott Canaberry on Sat. last year. Stand up guy. Very down to earth. I know he is new to the circuit but he has a regular job just like us. I honestly believe if he could have he would have let me in the boat to fish with him. Probably did't hurt he was in the lead after Sat. with a 6 1/2 lb kicker.
  2. Hotdawg, never fished on Bull much but I am coming down to fish around Diamond City this weekend. Any tips, type banks, depth,or anything to help me get on some fish.
  3. They usually have the extreme's on sale for $59.99 in the Spring Classic.
  4. Done this for years. Works great. You can also make a tool using a metal coat hanger. Cut off a piece 12 inches long. Then put a U shape bend in the wire on one end. This works great on the smaller fish to not damage there gills by running your hand up there. Just push the wire up below the gills, catch the line, pull the line out, then go in from the mouth with pliers, and grab the hook as close to the center of the round bend of the hook and pull out gently. Know telling how many fish this technique could save if everyone used it.
  5. +1
  6. Heard Ranger, Stratos, and Champion boats were finally bought. Also heard Stratos is moving there factory to Flippin, AR to be close to Ranger. But, they said Champion was still up the air as to even keeping on manufacturing boats. Anyone else heard this or really know what is going on.
  7. Techo, I know it is there $100 rod everyone is trying to make. It is supposed to be a good rod. Just made alittle different and does not have the cork grips. I am also wanting some hands on reviews.
  8. BPS extreme reels are good for the money. You can catch them on sale for around $60. Then you could have a good rod to place it on with the extra money. I like the Falcons also but for the money the Shimano Clarus or even Convergence are good rods with and excellent warranty. There is a new battle for the top rod in that $100 price range.
  9. For the money, I love the Falcon Lowrider Eakins rods for lighter jigs and use the Cara McClelland rod for the big FB jigs. Nice rods.
  10. Powerdrive, do the megabass come with hooks and split rings.
  11. Jann's Netcraft does have some good deals on hard baits. It is a great place for the person who likes to build it yourself. The one thing I don't like about it is the price of shipping. I guess tacklewarehouse can spoil a person.
  12. I have also had great luck with the palomar. Hard to beat with the ease of tying. For line to line tying I use the blood knot.
  13. Awesome pictures CaptainJoe. I have a question though. I'm a Lowrance man also so the Structure scan and Down scan is new to me. Just wondering how you got the picture of the cedar. On the picture, are you idiling over the tree or are you some how getting a side scan view of it.
  14. No expert here but, yes you will have interference with your own units. Next time while out fishing, especially when your out deep, try turning off the unit on the console and watch how much cleaner it makes the unit on the bow. If you can imagine the cones off of your transducer going down and getting bigger it is easy to see how when the cones overlap they will interfear with each other.
  15. Also only had one keeper on Sat. with the stick. Fished from Big M to Baxter. Water is very cold around Big M (37-39 degrees). Just wondering what it took to win the Winter Series on Sat.
  16. KC Trout fan, I only weight the front or the back. The only way you should do both is if you like the way the bait sets, but are trying to either get the bait to suspend currectly or trying to give it a slow sinking affect.
  17. Hogfan, $10.50 for a ten year old bait. Now thats just crazy.
  18. I agree they are the same. Tell you what I'll do. I am willing to buy those new pre-rapala warts for $10 a peice so you can get twice as many new ones.
  19. Free admission, warm building, and Denny Brauer. Sounds like the place to be.
  20. Techo, I fished the Tyson tourny on Bull last year. It had over 200 boats in it. The guy who won the tourny blew his motor before take-off and fished outside the off-limits area. Like my Dad always told me, he never seen how those guys caught fish going 70mph any way.
  21. Now as much as I hate to say it, I really have come to like the MegaBass baits as well, very very expensive but dang do they work! I own a dozen of them and there are times I can always get the bite off of the megabass baits. Only trick for all of these guys is to weight the back underside of the bait with a storm sticky weight.. It makes the tail drop when suspended! Fish just can't take it!! Good Fishing Everyone!! Don Don, you would rather have your bait facing up instead of down or level.
  22. Brrrrr. Bet that coffee tucked in the seat sure tasted good.
  23. Was wondering how long they was going to hold her. Plenty of room for a little down here on the rock. Just wish it wasn't that quick.
  24. Got it figured out. Talked to a Lowrance tech and yes there is a terminating cable you can use instead of all the T's.
  25. does this cable have two female ends.
