  1. Just got a Lowrance LCX-27c. I need a network cable from my unit to the gps puck. I was at a marine center today and he told me I would have to come out of the unit to a T, terminate one end, from the other plug run another cable to another T, terminate one end and from the other end, run on over to the GPS puck. I am not networking to units together. Just trying to get the gps running. Does any one know if there is a cable you can use to do away with all the T's and terminaters.
  2. Jeremy, I'd be happy with 3rd place any day.
  3. Sounds like all in all a good day on the Rock!
  4. I'm looking to upgrade my electronics. I like Lowrance anc am really looking for a 27 or 28 model. Would be interested in a used 37 also.
  5. Thanks for the advice guys. Looks like I am off to Wally World to get some Rice.
  6. I went fishing this weekend and my screen was fogged over from the inside making it hard to see the screen. Does any one know if there is any way to get rid of this or am I just sol.
  7. I'm buying a new "used" boat. It has a lowrance 28 at the console and a garmin on the bow. I am a Lowrance man all the way and was wanting to upgrade the bow. Thinking of putting another 28 on front but I can get a 27 for $100 bucks cheaper. Do you guys like these graphs. Is the only thing different from the 27 and 28 the map detail. I have a chip already. The new Lowrance are nice but getting out of my price range. Any opinions would be helpful.
  8. Bill, Robbie Dodson did it again with 17.XX. What a weekend he had but that's no shocker.
  9. What an afternoon Bill. Is this not odd catching blacks in 42 plus feet of water. I've always used the white and chrome spoons but never the chart.. Any secrets on this spoon, or just consist of a spoon colored chart.. Thanks
  10. I have always wondered why they have not put blinking markers around those islands. Is it that expensive. Worth a life I'm sure.
  11. The derby didn't get out at 6:00 and I was glad. That nice dry dock felt good. Took out at around 6:30 though. Marty was just infront of us with 15.XX. It took 21.XX to win it(not sure on the name). Fann brothers and Kelly Powers were in the money as well. I think we were all up the James.
  12. Denjac, I'd rather the fish gods call me up. We also were out there when the winds picked up. We left out at around 10:00am. We had a blast till then with 11 mixed keepers. Caught some nice smallies with one good black. Best 5 were around 17lbs. Not enough for a tourny win but a good few hours fishing any way.
  13. Went this past Friday for the first time. Fished from Rocky Branch to Starky. Caught 2 nice stripers on top that afternoon. Saturday morning we had a blast. Landed 3 on top. Broke off 3 also. Realized my regular bass gear wasn't heavy enough for these pigs. We fished all night also. I guess this is common as did many others. My question is does any body on here catch live bait at night. We had a rough time catching the shad. They would just go around the net. When we did get lucky and catch some bait it would not even get to the bottom without catching a fish. So do any of you have any suggestions on types of lights, nets, postions of each around boat etc.. Can't wait to do it again. Hooked for life.
  14. Nice pictures denjac. Seems like they like the bushes almost as much as the fish.
  15. Thanks for all your opinions. Stuborn is not even the word for mine. Better get her what she wants. Eric, saw the Daiwa on the internet last night. If it holds up it is well worth the money not to have to here about from the back of the boat. Again thanks for all the input.
  16. They just don't make them like they used too. She likes throwing the c-rig with a 1/2 to 3/4 oz weight so she can feel the bottom all the time. This much weight is just to much for these Zebco's. After only a few trips they get very rough. There again this much weight is to tough for her to throw on a spinning reel also.
  17. Looking for a good closed face spincasting reel for my wife to throw. I've bought a few Zebco's lately and they have been junk. She doesn't feel comfortable throwing my baitcasters and spinning gear. That's fine with me. I just want her to have a good smooth reel when she does go. I thought some of you guides (or anybody else) might know of one. Thanks for any info.
  18. I did see Clay Dyer there. For any of you who don't know who he is, PLEASE google his name to see just how easy we have it.
  19. No they didn't. I haven't heard anything about it. Did they act like it was on purpose or a accident.

Was at the weigh-in today and was wondering if that was the Donna from our site fishing the co-angler side. If it was good luck and catch a big'un.
  21. This wake bait works well. It has a tight wiggle. It is very easy to tune with the wire eye up front. My first cast with it, I tossed it out around 30ft from the boat just to see the action when a SMJ had seen enough. On a full cast you can even have your rod DOWN and the bait will still stay on top and start waking.
  22. Got a blue & white pro-craft with a 200 merc pushing it. Going to be out tomorrow around Baxter. I live down there and fish there alot.
  23. Anyone tried the wake bait made by Buckeye lures. I bought one and going to try it out tomorrow. Ready to see the action it makes. It is also expensive at 18$ a pop.
  24. Thats a record. It only took 17 posts to close the chapter on bed fishing. Who says we can't all get along.
  25. I'm with CaptainJoe on the old warts. In fact I would probably pay close to half the shipping if you sent them to me. Sure wouldn't want them old rusty hooks and faded baits to cobble up your tackle box.
