    Hello

Welcome Donna! Wish my wife would fish with me too! Taught my two daughters and son to fly fish, but she is not interested.....but she did at least try it.
  3. Here is the link .....http://ozarkanglers.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=559
  4. Congrats Doug! It only goes down hill from here....if you haven't tried fly tying, talk to Jeremy and Leonard...I think they offer classes. Nothing better than catching a fish on a fly you tied!!
  5. Posted a reply but had to change it....gave you bad info...I think I went to Google and typed in John Wilson Trout Crack and it gave me several sites that showed the pattern, including Jeremy's. Couldn't find it here. You should find it there, if not let me know. I have heard that most of the fly shops in Arkansas sell them.
  6. Haven't heard from Dano......you going?

    Shorty Smalls

CMAC, Shorty Smalls is one of my favorite places to eat when visiting that area!
  8. Had to ask.....read the report from Phil! Is she still rubbing in the fact that she caught the biggest fish?
  9. Phil, I am very involved and work with them every day. We have them go out in groups of friends and always know where they are. I would never say or agree with "they're going to do it anyhow, why fight it". Many of her friends were not going to the dance, so this is the first time I let them drive together and they were home by 10:30....I even drove by the school to make sure his Father's truck (that he drove) was at school.

  12. Just checked her schedule and they will be participating in the greater st. louis festival, so we will have to set a time to meet each other!
  13. Thanks for all the support. The dance went well and they were back at our house by 10:30 as requested. We had them invite several of their friends over for snacks and a fire in the back yard. Crappiefisherman, would be pretty cool if we meet at one of the competitions. My daughter is in colorguard and they compete with the band. If you know their competition schedule, pm me with it and I will get hers to see if they will ever compete. They went to Nixa and Kansas City last year.
  14. I have both....started with an inexpensive one $15-$20 from BP that came with a clamp and also purchased a pedastal for $10 at BP. Once I knew I liked it, I invested in a Renzetti. Dano recommended the Griffen Spyder vise to someone on another thread and I looked at one at BP. They are $75 and are really nice! You might want to check it out.
  15. Man those are some BIG, beautiful fish!! I'd be crying too if my wife caught a bigger fish than I did!! ha!
  16. Just sent my daughter to the Home Coming dance at her high school....man was that hard!! Much easier when my older son started dating! She has been dating him for a couple of months and is a good kid. He is in the band and is taking a lot of AP classes, but this is the first time I let them go in a car together! Any other Dad's gone thru this before and struggled with it??
  17. Don't worry about being late, people come in at all times. Next month they are having a swap meet and the speaker will discuss entimology. Should be a good meeting.
  18. hfdhoosier, was nice meeting you too and look forward to fishing with you. Sorry I missed your last post requesting the location, but you found it. jjtroutbum, you should come to one of the meetings. They are very informative and a lot of nice folks. Last night I won the opportunity to attend a rod building class. The club was given 6 rod blanks/supplies and they asked members that were interested to sign up. Had the drawing last night and I was one of the lucky 6!
  19. No Zach, not a Firemens brass pole......its what the old men grab on to just before they fall in! haha
  20. HOLY COW!! I would pass out in the stream if I saw/caught a fish like that!
  21. I will host one if we get enough interest. What about tying your "go to" fly to share with each other?? Anyone interested?
  22. Thanks Leonard! I'll be down there in a couple of weeks.....right now it is looking like the 3rd weekend in Oct
  23. Same here Seth...not much left! I helped my son process 2 of the deer he got last year and decided he wanted to learn to cut it up himself. Our neighbor came over and helped with the first one and we did the second by ourselves. Man that is a lot of work!
  24. I agree Rusty! Love it....my favorite time of year!
  25. That was definitely a day I will not forget. Got to work about 7am and later another guy came in and said he heard a plane hit one of the towers. Continued working until others arrived and were talking about what they heard on the radio on the way in. Someone went in the break room, turned on the tv and the room was packed within a couple of minutes. It was very quiet, not a sound out of anyone as we watched in horror as we watched another plane fly into the 2nd tower. Was definitely difficult to concentrate. Left early and after dinner, took the family to church for a prayer service. Sad day!!
