  1. Anybody wading near outlet 1 or 2 if they aren't generating?
  2. Looking for someone that sells/installs HVAC.
  3. Sweet! I think I would have taken my chances a let an arrow rip!
  4. Nope! Went fishing and the other weekends, I have been helping my son look for a house. I hope to shoot it on Sunday. I purchased mine for $339.
  5. Don, it was a pleasure fishing with you again my friend! I had every intention of writing a fishing report, but my job has had me going non stop......and I defintely could not have written a fishing report as well as you did! I love fishing at Taneycomo and it was a last minute trip. I pm'd Phil and asked him to look into his crystal ball to let me know his prediction for generation (his favorite question). He told me he did not think they would be generating, so we headed down. We fished on Saturday at Pointe Royale. I tried a few scuds and midges of all sizes/colors and caught a few fish. There was a young man, Darin Schildknecht, fishing next to me that was catching a fish just about every cast. I couldn't stand it anymore, so I asked him what he was using. He told me it was an egg and we talked about fly fishing for a while. He told me he was a guide and I have to tell you, if I was looking for a guide, I would hire him. In the past, I have had good luck with a 1/80 oz, cream colored jig. I tied one on and immediately started catching fish. By the end of the day, I caught 21 fish. It was great! Sunday we attempted to fish, but Phil's crystal ball was wrong, they were generating and it was WINDY. No luck, so we headed to Lilley's Landing to buy some fly tying materials. As Don mentioned in his report, we met him and fished from 9-12, but unfortunately had to head out for the four hour trip home. It was great to see Don again and catch up. I caught 18 fish.....all on the cream colored jig! It was a great weekend! I am very jealous of all of you folks that live close to Taney!!
  6. Well, I picked up a LC9 last night. The gun dealer I buy from got one in and knew I was interested, so he called me. I checked it out and couldn't resist. If it shoots as good as it looks, it will be a hit. Will let you know when I get time to run a few boxes thru it.
  7. Cool.....I will finally get to meet the famous Jeremy Hunt! .....and Phil too! Hope to make it. I am coming down with my neighbor for the weekend.
  8. Friday I traded a guy my CZ 75 Pre B 9mm for an H&K USP .45. Wasn't looking to trade, I just listed mine on gunlisting.org to see what I could get for it (was in mint condition and I hope I don't regret trading it). I listed it for $600 since the new ones are $500-$600. A guy that lives in my area asked if I would be interested in a trade and after he told me what he had, I looked on Gunbroker.com, to find them selling for $650-$800 and his had a stainless slide. After going back and forth, I traded him my CZ, a fobus gun holster and 6 boxes of Wolf 9mm ammo. Nice gun and shoots great!
  9. Try the personal defense .410 shells. My son has the judge and bought some of the pd .410 shells.....if I owned one, that is all I would load in it! It shoots 3 discs (look like small watch batteries)and then buckshot.
  10. Had a Taurus 709pt slim that I bought new. Never could get it sighted in and had to send it back to Taurus for repair. They returned it to me in approx 10 days along with a target advising me they adjusted it. Took it to the range and it was still all over the place, so I traded it for a Springfield XD9 subcompact. Maybe I didnt give it enough time or shoot enough rounds to break it in, but I kept thinking what good is a gun if it is shooting all over the place. I own a Taurus .357 SS revolver and I love it.
  11. Check out Templefork fly rods. You can pick up a 2 pc rod for $110 OR $149 for a 4 piece. I would put them up against just about any other rod and they come with a lifetime no fault warranty!
  12. Should be pretty interesting to see the new pocket 9mm that are being introduced at the shot show this week. Has anyone seen the new Ruger LC9, Sig Sauer P290 or Kimber Solo? I am looking for a small 9mm to carry in my front pocket since i sold my LCP to a buddy. I have looked at the Kahr PM9 and Kel Tec PF9. The Kahr PM9 is nice and small, which after all, is what I am looking for, but I dont see how it is worth $500-$650. I have read blogs online and anyone that owns one loves it, but they say you have to break them in and others say you have to be careful pulling the slide back. I looked at the PF9 and read blogs online. Most like them and some say they are junk. The new Ruger LC9 looks like a nice gun, but is is a little longer and taller than the others. The Sig Sauer P290 and Kimber Solo look like a nice guns, but the dealers around here say they wont be out for 3-6 months and they are going to be $550-$650. Has anyone seen the P290 or Solo yet? If so, thoughts? How about anyone that owns a PF9 or PM9? Pros/Cons?
  13. Sold! Nice to meet you Cory. Hope you enjoy it! Let me know if you ever want to go and wet a line!
  14. Welcome! I am from Ballwin and this is a great forum with a ton of great people! There is also a fly fishing group that meets once a month on Thursdays at Queeny Park in Manchester (Ozark Fly Fishers). Check them out, they have outings, etc. Let me know if you want additional information.
  15. Hey buddy how are you. I know, its been a long time! I had a heart attack in August, so needless to say, I didn't fish much last fall and was not on the forum. Pretty much back to normal now, just excercise and watch my diet more than I did before!
  16. Temple Fork 7'6" 3wt Signature Series 2pc rod and rod case. new $130 for both. great condition. make me a reasonable offer
  17. The S&W AR15 in the 5.45x39 was $900 and the 2100 rounds (surplus) was $300 and yes it is corrosive, so I will have to do a little more cleaning!
  18. JJ, did you buy them from individuals or a shop in the area? If it's a shop, which one?
  19. Intersting and informative post. I have a S&W AR15 that shoots a 5.45x39 and I am going Coyote hunting for the first time with a buddy next weekend. Really looking forward to it.
  20. Gatorjet, I haven't missed one of their presentations for the 5-6 years, BUT this year I could not make it!! My daughter was ill and my wife had to work! I was really bummed, but did not tell her! I am sure they did a great job as usual.....oh well, I guess there is always next year!
  21. Patfish & JJ, I'm with you guys. I do support my local fly shops, BUT I have 3 teenagers and a wife to support. I appreciate the discount, so I can continue the sport I love. About a year ago, Phil offered a discount on Templefork fly rods to "stimulate the economy" and I bought two of them.
  22. Couldn't make it this year, but sounds like you had good weather, great eats and fellowship!
  23. A fishing trip to Montana or Wyoming.....
  24. Yes, the 9th of December was a fine day! Happy Birthday Brian and Riverdawg! Hope you both had a great day!
  25. Nice pics all! SF, met you and Patfish at Maramec last year.....you were tearing them up that day, one after another!
