  2. Congrats!! That is a healthy baby girl! post a pic when you get a minute!
  3. I work for AT&T and we have various job opportunities all the time (www.att.com). I live in STL and would be willing to support my fellow OAF members with a reference if you find something listed that you would be interested in. I also have my real estate license and I am willing to assist you with any of your real estate needs at a discount for any OAF member. I have been in corporate real estate for 20+ years and I obtained my real estate license to assist members in my church, friends and family members with their real estate needs. I do not advertise, just word of mouth. Let me know if I can help.

    25 Point Buck

Thanks for posting Pat. I heard about this at work, but didn't hear the whole story! Great story
  6. Best of luck Tim and Becky! Welcome to a great forum! You are lucky to have Terry!!
  7. Met Rick Pope at Feathercraft about 5-6 years ago during their Spring show....great guy. He sold me on the Signature Series 7'6" 3wt and I love the rod.....only complaint is that it is a 2pc rod. I wish I would have spent the extra $25-30 and got the 3-4 piece. While fishing in the Smokey Mountains, I somehow broke the tip and I sent it back to them with the $25 check and they replaced the whole rod. Then while camping, my daughter shut the door on it and once again, they replaced the whole rod. Excellent customer service and great turn around. I know own a 9' 8wt , 9' 6wt professional series and the 7'6" 3wt signature series. Great rods and a great company! ......by the way, I bought the 2 professional series rods from Phil Lilley's fly shop and I received excellent customer service from them as well!!
  8. Geof, it does come with a scope. I didnt know Ruger made one, so I searched it and funny thing.......it looks identical to the Remington. Makes me wonder if they are produced by the same manufacturer with different names?
  9. ........a little late
  10. Asked Santa for the Remington Vantage 1200 air rifle they had at Dick's Sporting Goods over the weekend for $79. Says it shoots .177 at 1200 fps and the reviews were pretty good. I remember reading a thread on OA about one of the members that repairs (or did in another life) and I was just wondering if anyone could remember who it was?? Would like to know how this one compares to the Beeman SS1000 and if they can be repaired if something happens to them. Anyone remember who the expert is?
  11. Amazing! Wish I had 1/100th of that knowledge!!
  12. Thanks for sharing the recipe DaddyO! As I was reading, I was going to ask for it. I have never had one break, but I bought some one time that were not drilled all the way thru! Took them back and they exchanged them with no questions!
  13. Brian, I am always willing to take a fellow board member!! No, have not spent much time researching the food source.....but that is a great idea. Will have to check next time I am up there. Thinking about trying to get up there again this weekend since it is supposed to be a repeat of last weekend!! How 'bout them Cards......3-2 against the Astros. I am lucky enough to get to go to the game tomorrow (day game)........and I dont have to burn a vacation day. Can't beat that!
  14. Where in the heck is Wellsville Missouri......keep reading. Woke up Sunday morning, went to church and afterwards asked the Mrs if we had anything going on. She said no, so I told her I was going fishing (first time all summer), so I called my son told him how beautiful it was outside and asked if he wanted to go fishing...sure he said. I rounded up all my fishing gear and some beverages and put them in the truck. My son called and said his roomate was complaining about how messy the garage was, so he was going to stay home and help clean it. Ok, there went my fishing partner. Asked my 15 year old daughter (well tomorrow she will be 15) if she wanted to go.....no, I am going shopping with mom. Strike 2! Called my neighbor and asked if he wanted to go....SURE, can we bring Jacob he asked (his 11 yr old son). I said no problem, but I wanted to get going and enjoy the day, so he needed to giddie up (he is very POKEY). Ok, now for the explaination on where we were going....Wellsville Missouri. Wellsville is a very small town about an hour west of St. Louis, along Highway 70 (exit hwy 19, which some of you may know is the exit to go to Herman a very nice little town that makes WINE). My uncle lives just on the outskirts of town on 10 acres. He and my aunt bought their dream home about 10 years ago and shortly after, she won one of the MO lottery jackpots (won $75k). My uncle always wanted a lake and she wanted to take the two car attached garage and turn it into a great room and also build a two car detached garage, which they did. It is a 1.5 acre lake and took several years to fill up and after it did, he purchased 200 bass, 200 blue gill and 200 catfish.......well that was about a year ago and the bass are now 10-15". The sky was a beautiful shade of blue with big white puffy clouds. The temperature was 74 degrees with very low humidity. I took the boom box I brought, plugged it into the power inverter and turned on the Cards game. John told me to take Jacob out in my uncles little two man boat and he would fish from the shore. By the time Jacob and I rowed out in the lake, John already said "fish on". He caught a 13" bass on a sz 2 chartreuse popper. Jacob made his first cast.....BAM, 14" bass on a red popper....and then a blue gill, and then a bass. We caught fish ALL DAY LONG! At one point I stopped fishing, sat back and looked around.......what a beautiful day. I told Jacob, "it doesn't get any better than this". Jacob said, "I am having the best day of my life". It was a day I think we will all remember.
  15. I agree with ekl-stl. I went to the game last Wednesday night against the Dodgers (15 innings) with my 14 year old daughter. We sat in the 14th row between the Dodgers dugout and home plate.......and yes, we stayed to the very end! I asked her if she wanted to leave in the 11th inning (I have never left early), she turned and looked at me like I was nuts and said "no way".
  16. Fly Fishing the World, Fly Rod Chronicles with Curtis Fleming, Fly Fishing Profiles, but my two favorites are Trout Unlimited and Angling in America's National Parks. I record all of them on my DVR so I do not miss them
  17. black ants always work well in the summer months, size 16 or 18
  18. Never heard of the mono poly? Guess I have not paid that much attention to them. Will have to check that one out also. Having 4 fly fishers in the family, I was just wondering if the furled might save some $$ since you dont have to replace them as often.
  19. The one tool/thing you never tie flies without?
  20. what would it be? The one tool/thing that you never leave home without? Boga? Favorite knipper, hemostat, thermomoter? Net? Dry fly floatant?
  21. Toying with the idea of replacing my mono leaders with furled and I was just curious what you use?
  22. My neighbor is related to the Langford's and was just notified of their passing about 10 minutes before it aired on the 5pm news. He said the two 15 year olds were getting ready to start their sophomore year at SLUH high school. What a tragedy. Our prayers are with them.
  23. Joe/Al, thanks for the reply. My son (20) and I would like to do some wet wading to fish for any bass or blue gill (catch and release), not much on catfish. I dont mind driving or walking to fish another area, but I am not familar with the area (was planning on printing the recommendations and talking to someone in the park). Wasn't planning on canoeing, but would be open to it if that is the only way to get to the fish. We will be there Thursday-Sunday, so I thought we would probably try to fish Thursday afternoon or Friday, before the crowds come down. I am mainly a trout fly fisherman, but I have some poppers that I made last year, so it would help if you also suggest what to use. Appreciate the help!
  24. Anybody fish the Big River? If so, what part of the river, what to use, etc. We are going to be camping at St. Francois State Park over the 4th of July and I would like to do a little fishing. Any suggestions?
  25. Sage ZXL 8'6" 4wt rod, tube and warranty card for $470. Only fished with it for 2 hours
