I run a 96 Pantera Classic with a dual console, forest green with a gold bolt on the side. You can be pretty sure it's me if you see a boat like that so stop by and there is a good chance I can tell you what the fish aren't biting.
I much prefer to have the Skimmer transducer mounted on my trolling motor, so I can adjust the angle a little for the best performance. If you are pinching the cable you don't have the cable routed properly or you have to much slack in it somewhere.
I think it's because they have had a pretty constant current in the lake since March or April. Holds the fish shallow, ready to feed on the points and makes the thermocline a little less distinct maybe.
I think they may go into shock when the current shuts down. Didn't know they were shutting down next weekend, planned on doing a little full moon night fishing. Maybe I'll just forget it.
I know that the MDC had crawdad traps out around Cape Fair in June, but don't know specifically what they were tracking. Those are some nice ones! I've caught some very large dark blue crawdads a few time out of Flat creek.
That little bit of breeze that came up today around 11:00, I managed to catch a few still fairly shallow on the FB jig with a speed craw trailer. Had a four,a five and two other keepers in about 45 minutes with my nephew around Cape Fair. Thanks for all the good reports.
I had a good day Wednesday on the FB jig myself, couldn't find any dropshot fish, when the wind started picking up I got the jig out and went to town. Caught spotted bass and smallmouth, no largemouth but I did have a guy cut me off on a point and then catch a 4 or 5 on a caroline rigged french fry. Thanks for the great reports.
Thanks for the report Bill I'm going out tomorrow to give it a try. Is there a coutesy ramp at the Hwy H launch? Im think there is but I cant remember.
I know in the spring of 90, I was on leave from the AF and purchased a new Tracker. I remember fishing the around the picnic tables and other structure in Joe Bald park. That's about as high as I remember.
