  1. Welcome to the club! It has good folk.
  2. Good luck and thanks for all the flyfishing help and advice.
  3. I got a good deal on a used pre-series II Kimber Classic Custom Target Model 1911 pistol the other day. The pistol left the Kimber plant on Jan. 10, 2001. This is according to a Kimber customer service rep, who was really nice and helpfull. It's a good looking pistol.
  4. Great post and photos!
  5. That's really good photography. The place really looked like heaven on earth. Good looking hat, too.
  6. Great photo and story. Go Hotdog!!!!
  7. My PCs screen goes black after not in use for a while. I move the mouse, but nothing. There's a very slight green lines going across the top. I have to restart it. It does fine after this until you leave the computer alone for a while. Does anyone have idea what this is? My plan is to take it the Branson Best Buy.
  8. I'm thinking about visiting Arthur Bryant's orginal restuarant at 1727 Brooklyn Ave in KCMO. Is the BBQ good? Any other suggestions on KC BBQ spots. Thanks!
  9. Great looking fish, man!!! I'm sure that new boat made all the difference. The water looked great. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!
  10. Glass rods are the best. I agree, the shorter rods are more responsive and lighter in the hand. Cheers.
  11. Holy smokes, Batman. You could put a saddle on that thing. Congrats. Cheers!
  12. Hang in there. I've been there, too. Good things are coming your way!
  13. Very cool. I just picked up a couple at Lilley's Tackle Store just a few days ago. You're famous. Congrats!!!
  14. Good stuff. Thanks
  15. The ammo thing is out of control. The Wal-Mart in Branson West had one box of .357 Sig FMJ this afternoon. I'm sure it's gone by now. No other pistol rounds, except for .22 LR and mag. Next time I go target shooting I can just pitch my pistol and revolver down range like baseballs.
  16. I mainly use the circle cast and single spey cast. Nothing too hard, just a couple of simple casts. The circle cast comes really into play when I use a weighted leader. I also use a two-handed or one-handed overhead cast when the water is low. In terms of flies, I've used everthing: dry, wet, nymph, streamer, whatever. Never took a spey rod casting lesson, (not saying I don't need one:)I bought a DVD: Introduction to Spey with John and Amy Hazel. It's part of the Fly Fish TV "How to" Video Series. My TFO rod is a 5wt, 11', 4pc rig. I use a 7wt. line with either a floating or weighted leader. I'm clearly no pro, but I really have fun with the setup. It's really helped with dealing with the high water at Taney. If you need spey gear or information, Google The Red Shed Fly Shop in Peck, Idaho. The owner, Poppy, really knows his stuff and is more than willing to help you.
  17. I just recently took the CCW class at Bass Pro in Springfield. The class was taught by two Green County Sheriff's ranking deputies. I highly recomend these guys. The class was $100. If you don't have either a semi-auto or revolver, or both right now. No problem, they have .22 firearms that you can use without paying a rental fee. I did the 8-hour, one-day class on Sunday, 9 to 5. You sign-up by calling or visiting the Fine Gun Room. I believe the ages of my class of both men and women ranged from mid 20s to 60 somethings.
  18. Yes, they work great on Taney. I have a TFO Switch rod. I'm really surprized that I don't see more people with these rods since the water has been running forever at Taney.
  19. I just foud out about this outfitter. It came highly recommended. You can use bow or gun. The lowest priced pig hunt was $200. 20. I have a xd-9 with a ported barrel on order. I have not shot one, but they do have a very good reputation. After hand holding Glocks, Sigs and others, the xd just felt right in my hand. I really liked the safety features. I understand they do good with most ammo. I hope this helps some. Good luck and have fun on your gun search.
  21. No tree loss yet in my yard. Still have power in Reeds Spring, 6:21 p.m., and all is well, so far.
