Most fish stocked get really hard to catch after they get stung a time or too..the British that come here to fish rave about how cheap it is, one reason so many people are traveling to trophy carp locations like dale hollow, locals there like it because it gives them good business early in the year ( best time is early March till mid May) if you don’t believe me call lillydale marina and ask! Here are some nice ones taken at DH this spring.. they did an Alex and Carl show there last week . when they post the video I’ll share.

In the USA 67# in modern times but a 75 was taken in Mississippi back in the day, most think that fish was a buff...but the largest so far...mid 50’s here in Missouri most all waters over seas you pay to access, but 100 pounds is the record common, 50s are more common there because of all the chumming keeps the fish well fed. Most Brits have personal bests in the 30s -40s but most captures are high teens to low 20s. Fish are stocked over 10 pounds.. they use pike and of all things crappie and bluegills to control numbers. here most waters ozark lakes produce fish from 7- 12 pounds with a sprinkling of bigger fish. Because of over harvesting of the bigger fish typically by bfers or not enough food for the remaining fish. It takes 10- 12 years here to grow a mid to upper 20, ideally harvest the 20 - 30 inch fish would make more monsters.. so we look for lakes with predators that can eat more carp, blue and flathead catfish, muskies keep small carp populations in check, cool waters produce bigger carp it seems... noticed places with good black crappie populations have better carp avg sizes....carp can live in marginal quality waters but do best like most fish in healthy diverse watersheads

From what I am told people fish the lake it came from weeks at a time for one bite, and it’s rumored they jack fish from other locations😱 as far as compared to a high fence hunt, if you just tazed the deer 30 or 40 hunts over a few years it would be a real challenge to bag the biggest bucks and be a true accomplishment insted of a buck walking up to you for an apple slice before you gut shoot it with your $2000 bow, get into you golf cart and head back to the lodge to get drunk

So looking it up a 15# carp is about $625.00 for ONE fish at today’s exchange rate

Hit boat ramps, you might get surprised

What’s people’s thoughts on this? I have caught crappies on beds in October as well as walleyes in typical walleye spawning locations, in Stockton it seemed the huge native walleyes turned up after September, much to a bass anglers surprise to have 14# Walter jack his jig n pig or spinner bait...

Was told once Thursday’s was the best day to “poach” because most Agents work all weekends....I fishing below Truman dam at the time and released a spoonbill I landed while walleye fishing...in the MDCs defence I’d hate to be on call for all the BS they have to do..,bet they would rather get those calls “ I think I just landed a state or world record “
