  1. They are and using them for food is ok, its dumping them 100k pounds at a time in a field is not cool
  2. by any legal method common carp are unlimited and have been for a number of years now looks like you can take 20 unsure if dumping them in a ditch counts as being "possessed" though for some reason Bfers or carp haters think all euroanglers are against harvest of any kind, but most of the them have no issue with harvesting smaller carp as long as they get utilized for food...harvesting smaller fish yet releasing the bigger "specimen" fish so they can be caught again , much bigger, even in lakes where extreme eradication efforts or heavy Bfing occur you get a population of dinks, it seems if a water has a caring capacity of 100# of common carp per acre, you can have that any ways you want twenty 5 pound carp or 5 twenties even two 50s, managing for trophy carp requires a healthy baby carp eater population and many of the known big fish waters are also know for huge trophy "game fish" as well...lake Fork in Texas is an example
  3. if that was the case why the open hostility on JUST carp threads? don't get the snarky comments when I post about other subjects? I have been banned by 2 forums controlled by Bfing interests and others promoting euroangling for common carp and buffalo are also banned as soon as they mention any pro carp fishing comment and there are met with the same snarky hostility I regularly get here, the biggest manifistion of vandalism was when our group successfully got regulations changed in Texas..in seems that the bfer demographic ( I should know I ran and opened my own advertising agency for over 2 decades) is more prone to breaking laws it seems..and those in the east coast have had issues since the CT regulations changes....kinda like the people who keep trashing Trumps star, it seems change will do that to people Numbers who have joined our group are up exponentially, we have added more people in the last 2 years than in the last 10 and the amount of new carpers joining is accelerating, I knew I would be a focus point for those who hate, but since I am American born and bred, hunt, fish and trap the anti badge will not stick owned my own business and had the resources and time on my hand to do the legwork on many issues (even now I help a group of state fisheries biologists in acquiring carp data..(a big thanks to those on this forum that have helped me in our research) Bfers upset at me is a badge of honor. I have been added/ invited to join over 100 fishing pages on FB this year alone (forums are a dieing format it seems) and if you are so offended you can use the ignore feature, but as you and the other harassers have eloquently stated before you won't because of what may happen if people start buying into the whole carp agenda...well too late Public lakes are that..PUBLIC and those user groups have the right, NAY obligation to speak up be it 5 foot wakes destroying others docks/property or loud noise and bright lights waking them up on the lake at 3am or the dumping of 300# of dead carp/buff and gar at the boat ramps even shooting fish to extinction like alligator gar and black buffalo in Oklahoma and laws get changed, at one time it was tradition to gig bass and other gamefish from ozark streams, it was legal to shoot bison and passenger pigeons and it used to be cool to string all the bass caught in a tourney change was hard for those who used to duck hunt with punt guns and spotlight deer, the ability for one person to effect a fish or game population by ways of over harvest is over its why you can't gill net crappie even if you stay in the limit or shoot turkeys off the roost but only take your limit harvest isn't just harvest is it? this post is 9 LEGAL ways to effect change none of which meet the smell test, if every time you go to your fishing spot and shine a light and bang a metal can pretty soon light = run like heck, now if they did that in front of you Bfing as you moved down the bank at night then yes that would be "harassing" yet thats not what is suggesting, I am working on something about the safety of Bfing you'll love that one...but you are and avid Bfer and I understand your getting salty...you should watch this video take you meds 1st though
  4. so lets ask, who does belong? and why does carp angling not belong? interesting perhaps burn some books?, get some youtube channels demonetized , and try and kill the message and put forth your own narrative right? you might look at where this thread is posted...you can use the ignore feature but you don't...your goal is obvious
  5. perhaps you can go BF the CT river here at the big event coming up you can harvest one carp and it must be under 26" 😎 also you can attend the CCC its in NY this year perhaps you can make the kids uncomfortable
  6. 😆 like stabbers of fish? bow-gig-speargun? yeah guilty there not a big fan of Bfing big carp/buff/gatorgar or gigging because of the whoops factor on SMB and spearfishing big walleyes? please! Ill take that...make fishing great again! might go back through some posts, and skim over the hijacking and intimidation from haters like yourself I'll gladly debate you on any of those issues I am glad to Entertain you!!!
  7. not many most are long dead FB has crushed them this one may be one of the biggest left
  8. I try and post the hypocrisy of common carp are non native and invasive when so many of our favorite quarry are just that, the reason bass brown trout and common carp are so widespread world wide are because they are sought after sport fish and perhaps people might try and experience how much fun it can be ether euro style or on the fly detractors try and belittle those who would chase carp as low income minority or foreign people with little else to do or catch and I post people who are famous and well respected that chase carp to show thats a narrative thats not true anymore that guy who uses a forked stick using dough balls and jello, smoking generic cigs and drinking cheap booze and leaves the bank trashed is the image you paint or try to isn't valid when it gets to the point I need to prove actual things that have happened in my life it shows to what depths people will go to try and discredit an individual, something rampant in politics today..been doing this for over 20 years now and like I said before ill be glad to add any of you to a carp group so you can see 1st hand
  9. it all started before I got involved when a carp group in Chicago sought to Ban Bfing, I had no idea of the hostility and naively and publicly shared fishing spots and invites on fishing forums/social media. once I got wind of how they were doing it set up a guy on a lake where BFing is not legal and got him busted and that set off the 1st of many chitfests, not just me David Moore was also the target of Bfer rage sorry billethead I wish it had been made up, I never share these things or even play the victim card like is so in vogue with progressives these days that is very true you can kill the messager but will never kill the message, been martyred on a couple of fishing forums for promoting carp angling still keep a printout of a quote from one "if we let MoCarp keep telling how much fun it is to catch carp next thing you know they will be treating them like bass and walleyes" apparently some of you have run off other contributors in the past, at least thats what I was told I'm PMs I get on encouragement as far as this site I was here in the beginning and in the past organized carp events that brought groups here to spend $ sure those posts are archived somewhere better yet ask Phil wasn't just warsaw lots of places from 4 rivers to stockton TR bull shoals thats true many will not spend $ at bass pro because of the Bfing support don't think it will hurt them mush at this point its not like they carry nash or fox products any time soon wrench look me up on FB Ill add you to some groups and you can see for yourself To be honest I haven't
  10. Rough fish are 20 fish and common carp at one time were included, however with the rise of asian carp commons got tossed it the unlimited numbers by any and all methods I think a 100 fish limit may be in effect on the Mississippi... now you can kill as many commons as you want... culling thats shooting a buffalo/gar and tossing it back to keep a heaver fish in say a big 20 tourney is not legal but happens far too often...from what I hear from my Texas Biologist friends we may see Texas adopt a tag system on Alligator gar soon that would leave Louisiana the last state with unfettered harvest on gator gar some states have a system of managing a water on its own unique merits, some waters should have a more generous limits (or lack there of) to promote that waters potential ...like a trophy trout or SMB stream...or put and take fisheries for people who love fish dinners, and waters are not static and over the years fish population dynamics change this has happened in CT on some waters that produce monster common carp and people travel there to fish for them and spend their $ just like people travel here to fish for trout in Taney or bass in TR or go on a ozark float trip. Currently I know of no water in our area that is seeking better regulations to enhance an established trophy common carp fishery however we do have a few waters that could be groomed in that direction
  11. yeah gas in my well took 3 days to run it out, and prob should have reported it kinda like getting TPed or egged, what can they do? other than watch out, the worst one was when they ran over my newly planted trees and marten houses. would never had known had my neighbors not seen them, after that they were on point to catch someone, its one reason euro carp anglers tend to be secretive, yet that is changing because of social media has made it easier to do push back and document things we have seen for years. Its funny when people think carp anglers are all foreigners true we have a few Brits but the VAST majority are USA born and bred I'd say 98% or more are American born, some those guys have been harassed about here citizenship because of there involvement with carp issues.
  12. some states it is legal to shoot some gamefish like small mouth bass, catfish even muskies and walleyes there are limits
  13. on more than one occasion I have been harassed and threatened by bfers fishing at Warsaw back in the day, had our fishing socials harassed etc, when I first got into carping I had a live and let live attitude heck I even bow fished a few times, but when not once but twice we had Bfing groups shoot up our state fishing socials one was at power site and a spot that used to produce numbers of big fish was reduced to dinksville. found out later in the bfergroups chatter they did not want another town lake like in Texas here and systematically destroyed a Trophy fishery that once existed here, I used to post many of the catches on the forum and one of the 1st people from the very start of OAF. This did not only happen to me and others in our area but across all of the US and created organized pushback. I alway thought it was funny when someone would show up full of piss and vinegar to confront me in person and need to stand on a box to look me in the eye or how many times I was visited by a CO fishing with friends that were told we were stocking invasive or had drugs (hempseed used in carp baits) or how I had gas poured in my well, or baby carp (sold as bait) I kept in a horse tank to try out new baits and attractants were netted out and killed along with a note, every time motivation to do things right and grow what they fear the most, and I thank all those that lurk and encourage me to share and help them catch more and bigger common carp and buffalo, I have not even posted the push on navigation lights or noise restrictions and the overweight boat issues, perhaps Ill share those next
  14. our area thankfully has few of the big asian carp, the basspro event in Oklahoma, documented all the fish shot over 50% were gar and buffalo, in some lakes and rivers like in Illinois and Kentucky they should a lot of them muddy moving water isn't as easy to shoot as our clear water lakes...I have zero issues with Bfing bighead and silver carp
  15. coming soon to a state near you 😉
  16. where in Missouri are muskies "native"?????
  17. https://www.invasivespeciesinfo.gov/whatis.shtml it is my contention that common carp do not meat the criteria other than they are non-native just like many beloved game fish and animals all trout... striped bass....muskies are non-natives on the invasive list however are an economic plus and do-not cause human harm in most cases... common carp can cause increased phosphates to be suspended in the water IF certain conditions are met, a silt dominate bottom, excessive richness of nutrients in a lake, frequently due to runoff from the land man has modified, which can cause a dense growth of plant life and death of animal life from lack of oxygen. Common carp support an extensive economic industry of over $8 billion a year and can be managed as a plus in many waters and some states are doing so the grieve I get on this forum is that if that happens " it will make YOUR fav fishing suffer", which is not as likely as common carp have been in our waters for 140 years and if anything removing them seems to cost a major prey item to press like bass, walleyes and crappies. arguing that believe fish like LMB can't or rarely impact fisheries is a negative manner is semantics... normally I don't hijack threads and we are closer on many issues than it would seem, so relax there are no CT like carp regulations in our area...at least not yet 😉
  18. so your saying bass are not invasive and do not negatively impact "native species" holding you to stone on this before I go get the abstracts to counter
  19. I don't,,,, just the biologists, very few animals are list in absolutes they "may" be extinct, they don't want to have egg on their face when one or two show up, but you can count on them being rare or nonexistent, I am sure a few pup fish species in so-cal are gone munched on by bass... ^ sorry but them little baby birds got munched out, bet a Grebe colored whopper plopper prob rocked there
  20. yup looks like one to me
  21. wrong LMB and Florida LMB are WELL documented to have in many locations particularly west of the rocky Mountains and rainbow trout are not native east of the rockies, and brown trout have caused the decimation on native brook trout in the east Chinese ringneck pheasants has displaced prairie chickens as well...invasive for one is a beloved quarry for others
  22. you should read about how Largemouth bass have caused fish and amphibians to go extinct where ever they have been introduced https://nas.er.usgs.gov/queries/factsheet.aspx?SpeciesID=401
