    What's Cooking?

    so do you eat beaver?
  2. I have personally eaten beaver, and I must say it depends on the beaver, young beaver is mild and tender....but old and IMHO fatty beaver is strong and not as pleasant .....so get out there and gets some tail to try
  3. I know its not for everyone, but some people love eating beaver
  4. thats why this thread is called "Those Ugly Fish????" just for you I am posting a carp bit a day for 2 weeks
  5. Just for you this is a lead in for The Carp Angler Magazine; CarpOholics Anonymous I write for, the piece comes out in the Feb issue
  6. shouldn't you be in church? besides your attempts to silence the carp agenda will be in vain...The thinly veiled attempt at pushing me past the limits of good taste have failed yet again
  7. I think blasting about in a fog bank can be the issue.. 6 foot chop is dangerous alone... I grew up on the coast and fog is normal this time of year, causes some horrific car wrecks as well....you can be going a long and hit a fog bank and slow way down only to get slammed by someone....on the lake a hidden log would be all it would take....its sad loss of life happens....perhaps locator technology on a life vest? I am sure many an angler would pay a little more for that peace of mind
  8. In an effort to stay family friendly I direct to to google the word "beaver" on urban dictionary......I also refer you to posts made that relate to this subject in the hand warmer thread.....if you want a video I am sure I can PM you some titles...or send you on an expedition to seek said beavers..however your better half prob would not approve as any better half should
  9. hey I had to watch a bunch of beavers getting pounded just to find this!...now my mind has been corrupted all in the name of OAF! I have seen all sorts of things Bfed....gamefish like muskies, bass....critters beavers, muskrats, raccoons.....even armadillos...... Some guys bored and liquored up and nothing is taboo to shoot....I even have seen where bottlenose dolphins get shot once a few years ago saw a Bfing boat shoot a few walleyes just down from the pothole...ever see a walleye at night under lights? I wish that from feb 1 to may 1 no night Bfing from the beaver creek to the pothole one of the reason there has been conflict between eurocarpers and Bfers is they love nothing better than to go shoot up known bank areas where eurocarpers frequent...and "releasing" a few floaters to be found by them..... one of the reasons you see dumped fish is a long night of shooting last thing is proper fish disposal and they end up dumped at the ramp of along the road we all have seen that...if the latest you could bf at night was 3am...that would make people get off the water earlier and help give the more time to dispose of fish....its gotten so bad in oklahoma black buffalo are now a species of concern....I could go on but that was not the intent of this thread I should note I have a couple of places that the fishing has gotten better because the fish have thinned and allowed more food...before you caught many 8-10# commons with a big fish being 15#..now you catch 1/2 as many but the biggest fish run much bigger but the avg fish are smaller....5-7# avg but you may catch a 20 or so.........
  10. you can google a few on you tube
  11. Bow fishing.... B-f ing yeah I don't think so.....they put a bobcat getting tagged per regs on the MDC sight and the posts went nuts on how horrible it was.....I keep waiting for a vegan uprising on chicken nuggets
  12. I have seen vids of stabbers Bfing beavers......not sure if it legal though
  13. I was thinking the other kind of beavers
  14. so you gigged a beaver?
  15. lol..... from my understanding Koi soon revert back to wild appearance after a few generations..a % of young look just like the ones stabbers stab......I have never caught a koi...though have had friends that have..and they fight just like there wild brethren.... I am sure if you had some private stocker slipping in a few sickly trout in Taney or bass in LOZ and it killed off almost all the fish you can see my point...but if you have a buttload of koi, it would be smart to learn what the most valuable ones they look for are like..be a shame to stab one worth $1000 or more.....knew a guy that cast net one out of an HOA lake and sold it for $2200......needless to say i'd keep my eye out
  16. asking what Koi are worth each is like asking whats a car or diamond worth....the basic "pond grade" you can get at wally world for 8 bucks a piece or larger fish like 18" fish 25 bucks each off craigslist....quality koi breeders "cull" out fish looking for all the traits/conformation.....I personally think thats how koi end up at your fav marina which is an issue as this can spread a number if fish diseases that can wipe out 70% or so of the carp population..this happened to blue springs lake back in 2012..... some think introducing a GMO carp disease is a way to control carp numbers..at least up until it jumps species...some researchers have suggested LMB virus may have 1st been a koi virus that mutated.....common carp are the worlds largest aquaculture food fish world wide and introducing a GMO virus that could wipe out 70-80% of that food population would be unfortunate....its a requirement in most UK fisheries to sterilize mats and nets/bait boats ETC or anything that could spread sickness.....here in Missouri we already have fish kills from virus, I think going forward I will be a big issue with fisheries management, we do not have the resources to study those events like we should....it will take an event that kills every fish in a lake like TR with the associated economic hit before that happens....hope we never see that
  17. Koi are the most expensive fish in the world $60k for single fish are not unheard of, over $2mil was paid not long ago..... beauty is in the eye of the beholder....so post up pics of yah wives that way we can judge your tastes in beauty
  18. some Koi captured by euro anglers
  19. Largemouth color phases
  20. I have often heard about how "ugly" common carp are, and an old beat up fish from muddy water isn't very eye appealing, yet here is the states we have "feral" fish that lack the better breeding seen in the UK...bloodlines there seek 3 things faster growth, long life for larger size and appearance ...some of the most beautiful fish are Koi, common carp that have been selectively bred for 1000 years for color, scale patterns and fin shapes.....if someone did that for any fish over time could create something interesting...largemouth bass sometimes have a blue and orange color phase.....
  21. not on FB now
