  1. Jeremy, Thanks, yes just above #1. She was hanging out with a few others about the same size, and a monster Rainbow that must have been at least 30". There wasn't a big munch going on. I think it was steal the bugs before the other guys see it, just before she took, a 20" male rainbow did just that to her. Had the bugs drifting down her feeding lane to her, and the sneaky Rainbow stole the flies from her. I had a talk with that Rainbow. Second drift did the trick. Regards, Bman
  2. Thanks, I was using 6X tippet. Last Fri they had 0 units running 'til noon. I was wading.
  3. All those violations really make my blood boil. Dove Tail, The incident involving the guy using minnows to fish the Trophy Trout waters was my post, and yes the MDC tracked him down. The following is an email from the agent that contacted me. Bruce, I apologize for the delay in getting back with you. I just arrivedback from vacation. I appreciate you taking notice of the violation andreporting it. The pictures are fabulous along with the information. The best way to report a wildlife violation is to report it to theOperation Game Thief Hotline at 1-800-392-1111 or call the localsheriff's department. I will share these pictures with the agents whowork the area to see if we can find out who the fisherman is. Weappreciate your assistance helping to catch violators. It is difficultto be at the right place at the right time when there is only one or twoagents in an entire county. Currently we do not have an agent in PhelpsCounty due to retirements and transfers. We hope to have an agentstationed there soon. Any violation reports we receive from PhelpsCounty will be investigated. If you see anymore violations please keepus informed. 4. JJ, Glad you got lucky with the weather and no crowds, last week was a great time to be on the water with your Dad. Thanks for the report. Bman
  5. I will be there Mon morning for the week, I will find out for ya. When are ya planning on getting down/leaving?
  6. It suprised me too. When I woke up Fri morning, I called the automated gen. report and it said 0 units...YIKES! skipped breakfast shot down there. I went up to the cable and started in trying to memorize the new features as I headed down. If it's any concession to you, they fired up 3 units at noon, eventually going to 4 units.
  7. Down stream of the fish ladder there is an area by a big starcase that has a couple discharge pipes flowing, thats what I reffered to as outlet 4. Lots of structure change in there. I believe those run out of a pond area, so discharge could, be warmer...
  8. Yes, I would encourage you to look around during the day if you can. The noth bank from the cable down to well below the #3 (ladder) area has changed! Outlet 4 is flowing water now, and has some new cuts around it. The rebar hole has changed and filled in some areas and dug out the rest...rebar fishes totally different now. There is a huge tree just below rebar, lots of fish will be lost there. From the tree to big hole hasn't changed much. The big hole seems to have filled in with gravel some. When I was drifting over it by boat my depth finder was showing big hole shallower. There is something wierd going on with Table Rock. I don't know if Table Rock has turned over or what, maybe some others here will know. The Temp of the water up by the cable last week was 59 degrees with 4 units running. The water is stained/cloudy. Hope this helps, good luck, Bman
  9. Hi, She took a size 14 grey scud.
  10. Imagine that, I fished Taney Sun thru Fri and this was the first Brown I caught. 27 1/2 X 18" about 11 lbs ??? think I'll buy some lottery tix. Thur was cool, caught a 18 1/2" Bass, a SPOT a real pig becuse of it's girth. Had a rainbow hooked from the boat at the boat ramp, played it down to lookout pt before it broke me off.. a real toad. tight lines all, Bman
  11. That has to be an older post, the dates at the top of the page threw me...nevermind...
  12. Whats up with this? http://www.bransondailynews.com/story.php?storyID=7111
  13. Well, now that Ike's past...anyone have any rainfal numbers for Table Rock, Tanney? Any word if flood gates are gonna be opened? What are you local experts predicting? Maybe we ought to start a poll/gentlemens wagers on when wade conditions might happen. LOL
  14. Thanks for the great info, I'm just thinking of what those spots would be like during the day with 4 units. Thinking elbow to elbow. With Ike on the way, I think we could see floodgates open again. As well as 4 units for weeks and weeks to come. Lets hope not.
  15. With 2-4 units running, you are stuck in the outlets, right? Like opening day at the parks? Or are there other spots.
  16. At first I had your reaction, then once I chilled out, I realized quite by accident that the fish were stirred up and hitting! One can usually find something positive in any adverse situation if you are open to it. So it is with life in general. Thats the way I try to look at fishing, by looking for any opportunity in any situation.
  17. I feel your pain, yes there is no swimming, and yes I have had the same happen to me. I've even had them jumping off the bridge at the end of the park, almost on top of me. But consider this. Ya ever heard of shuffeling? kicking? the Tanneycomo 2 step? Well these dudes are stirring up the bottom for ya. Next time fish immediately down stream from them. The fish will be biting like crazy, little nymphs, scuds, jigs. Watch out, if you cast too close ya might hook a big sucker So next time just take advantage of the situation.
  18. Did you ever get in touch with Ed & Kay? at Larry's?
  19. We touched on this before, but here it tis: I have a 1752 jet jon w a 90/65 2 stroke it runs fine upstream no matter what the flow is. No generation I can run all the way to cable, but don't because of respect to wade fishermen. With 1 unit you will still see a bit of rebar showing altough it is easy to miss. 2 units normally covers rebar but watch your troller around there. 2 units hard to 4 units... go anywhere ya want. Running a jet up stream of Fall Creek, on plane if ya don't see it, ya won't hit it. Just watch where ya jump up on plane and shut down. There are big rocks in the channel up to look out or Andy's place. Up by the KOA there's some big logs and rock. Just below MDC boat ramp gets rocky & shallow but no prob without generation, if on plane. Around the corner to Big Hole no prob. except watch out & be respectful of waders. I dont go any further than big hole with no generation because of waders. Often I never go above Pt Royale because of waders. I'm VERY respectful of waders, watch your wake! Especially if thay are waded deep near the top of their waders...other wise rocks may appear from the sky!
  20. Count me in, I always catch/release in the trophy area. BTW I've had some real fights with some big Browns, and always released in good shape. I think it would be cool to make the trophy area catch and release only!
  21. Says 55...I am 55...
  22. Trout Bum here.
  23. I disagree with mosouthpaw about launching at the MDC ramp below the Dam. Even with 4 units running there is a slight backwater there. I launch my 1752 jet boat there by myself regardless of units running...NO problem. The only problem launching there is if there is no generation, there are a lot of waders there at times. Out of respect for the waders I usually don't launch with no units running.
  24. FFM, Do you ever get down to Taney?
  25. I would listen to Mr Lilley! Was just my 2 bits. Thanks for your input Phil.
