  9. I'm with some of the others...nothing much other than water, trees, hills, poison ivy, ticks. But remembering when I was young...thats all I ever needed to be happy. Don't know how old your boys are,if you all aren't used to floating, could be dangerous. I can't imagine leaving vacation city USA (Branson) for a vacation, just kidding. One thing for sure I know your family will have an awesome fishing guide to help them.
  10. Bill,go ahead and sneeze. When I call ya it will be on your business # to book a trip!
  11. Thanks for the pics, and the comments! Question, After a flooding like Taney just had will there be any attempt to log the water?

  14. I took a ride with Kevin a while back just before all the rivers problems. WOW Wish I knew about River Pro before I bought my boat! I will get the 186 Low Pro.
  15. you might want to bring a boat with you.
  16. Love that Eakins jig 5/16 oz in Mo craw or peanut butter & jelly. Chompers twin tail trailers, grn pmpkn/prpl flk 4" Yum woolybug 3" crawdad great for large or small jaws here's a pic of a smallie with a eakins Mo Craw in his snoot, caught him just up the river from where I live. When I don't have a fly rod in my hand I'm pitching one of these jigs from a baitcaster, secret is the right weight line and a vertical presentation.(at least works for me)
  17. WHAT A TOAD!!! Way to go! Awesome pic...Thanks for sharing!
  18. Al & Brian, thanks for the advice. Regards,Bruce
  19. Sound advise, well put Al. Would you have any advise as to where to put in and run in the summer time, and still have decent Bass fishing? While avoiding the aluminum hatch, and conditions you mentioned. Really appreciate your insights you share with us on this board. Bruce
  20. Just exactly what secion of the river is that...where do you put in take out?
  21. Same here Right now think the road leading in there is washed out
  22. Are you talking about running from Scotts Ford up through trophy trout area? or down stream? Personally I would run upstream from where I launch,in case something happens you can drift back.So if you want to run the area below Scotts ford, put in at birdsnest.I'm not sure if you can put in at Indian springs.Yes there are some who will run their jet boats anywhere, sometimes run where a jet boat shouldn't oughta go.It's all runable with normal river levels. After the river drops there will be a lot of trees down, the canoe rental folks will chainsaw through the down wood,I would plan on going then,or carry a chainsaw with ya.Or plan on jumping some logs. I look for the rivers to be more runable after normal levels return,we've been needing a good flushing for many years. The rivers will be totally different. Always remember to be respectful of wade fishermen, and canoes.I always do whatever I can to minimize my impact on them when jet boating.
  23. I used to fish it years ago, caught crappie mostly. Can be a GAY hangout sometimes
  24. What was working for us was really some pretty regular flies.San Juan worms, red and small.Scuds olive and tan sizes 14-18.Eggs peach in color and small. I think finding active fish and the proper presentation is just as important or more important than the flies. You gotta get the flies DOWN and a drag-free drift. Not too many people, you could find your own space and plenty of nice fish. Regards,Bruce
  25. Phins, Yes, you are right,we did have a blast. Here's one my son caught that could have been for the wall but he released him anyhow for some one else to possibly catch some day.
