  1. PC, A saw an agent two years ago at BSSP in zone 2 check the guy next to me. Hewas told that a person reported him using an illegal setup. The agent did nothing to him. That guy then turned to me and said "I wonder why you didn't get checked, I'm only runnig two flies and you (that would be me) are running 3 fleis at a time". OTF, I always running two flies at Maramec Springs. Later, FFM
  2. JJTroutbum, I'll jump in and tie up a few. I will make my favorite pattern that I talk about a lot on this form.... the "Buckskin". So come one one and all if you want a few of these killer flies you better sign up now!! Later, FFM

  4. Jeremy, This a great posting. I have to add another bead to the mix..... Crystal! I fish most of the times in the parks and the Current River. But I learned a lot by fishing out in the western states that by adding a Crystal bead to most any small fly or midge pattern, you increase your bite ratio. So I have used this technique back here in the Midwest with lots of success. Over the last 7 years of tying midges, I have added Crystal beads to 75% of my flies. The size range is from 16 to 24. I add to them to Pheasant Tails, Hare's Ear, WD40s, RS2, Buckskins, Zebra, Scuds, and the list goes on and on. As for weighted bead, I used the copper and black on some Zebra patterns. Later, FFM
  5. fishgypsy, Here is a website for Westover Farm: Click HERE Ness is right that the bank owns it after the loan went belly up and they were not able to sell it at an auction. Just because the fish are that big, don't mean they are easy to catch. Later, FFM

  14. triz, That is different looking fly, but if it works who cares what it looks like. Right! Just wondering, was the beadhead enough weight to keep the fly down or did you have to add extra lead? FYI: Fish porn is cool. Later, FFM
  15. Deckers is a good area to fish, it has rebounded great since the Haymen Fire back in the June 2002. The water in this area can get some ice build up during this time of the year, so you will have to find out a few days before you go out to see what the conditions are like. If you are interested in a guide there is no one better than Pat Dorsey in CO. Heck he wrote the book on how to fish the South Platte River. CLICK HERE for his Book Click her for Pat Dorsey's Bio If you get his book, then I don't think you need a guide. I hope this helps you out. If not, contact me in a PM. Later, FFM

  17. I'm still a bit confused about why he may get something from Boone & Crocket. The arrow is not what killed the deer. Can somebody explain this? Later, FFM
  18. That reminds me a deer accident about 10 years ago in IL. A car was traveling north bound, hits the deer and sends it into the air. The deer goes through the windsheild of a south bound truck with a father and three kids. The 10 year old girl in the front seat did not survive. The father and 2 other kids had serious injuries. Very sad. I hope the person in AR is recovering. Later, FFM
  19. XP, Thanks for the info. Where you using weighted streamer and wooly buggers? later, FFM

  22. 4 lb test. The hook had to have been set in the corner of the mouth because the line would not have handled running across the fish's teeth. That is one great catch! You Dah Man Scott. Later, FFM
  23. Bman, The USGS at Cook Station is that located before or after where Maramec Springs enters Meramec River? Thanks, FFM
  24. jah, I'm sure the water will be with in the banks, but it will be running fast and very murky in color. Fish close to the banks and/or out of the main current and deep! Later, FFM
