Thoughts And Comments On Forum Expansion
soggyfeet replied to Phil Lilley's topic in General Angling Discussion
Phil its your site so you should do what you want with it. I can almost gaurentee you that if someone else owned the site and wanted to improve it they would. I think the underlying fear is that if you expand to other areas more people will come to the Ozark areas. Im not for sure but seems like most of the people against it are the ones who seem to fish daily on these waters and dont like crowds or people for that matter (not refering to all just those who have stated that before). If I were you I would NOT sell the site. This site is your baby and wether you own it or not your name will stick with it. Being a business owner in the area you do not want something to go foul with the site if you sell because it may tarnish your rep. If people dont want to go to the other site so be it that is their choice. I for one will follow to the next site seeing what a great job you have done with this one. By keeping this a G rated site with minimal personal attacks(those being addressed quickly) has greatly added to the sucess of this site and will continue with the next. Good luck and cant wait to register for the new one DONT SELL -
I have worked with more uselees employees than I have had bad boss's. But I guess since I work Union that is to be expected.

I would love to have some post from the the guys fishing Hillsdale, Perry, Clinton, and some of the other just across the border lakes in Ks. Living in the KC area i dont get down to the Ozarks much anymore with the kids and wife holding on to my ankles the way they do. But I do get out to Hillsdale qite a bit and would like to have more info on it. Even a northern MO subforum sould be nice with smithville in it. But its like everyone else has said its all what you want to do. If you make it bigger which it seems to do each week you will have more people to police and might take the fun out of it for you and the admins. -
Just change you b-day every year and you will be 29 forever

Just pull that rig down and back it into outlet 2. If they are running water you can stand on top -
How To Tell Different Weighted Flies Apart
soggyfeet replied to bcfish's topic in Fly Tying Discussions & Entymology
On your indicator problem you could do a different things. 1 is what Dano suggested 2 use smaller weight fly shops sell weights that are barely big enough to go around 5x tippet(well maybe not that small) 3 is change the style of indicator I dont know what kind you are useing but i almost always use the football shoped indicators and dont have the big splash problem. night time is a different story but i cant see the splash so i dont worry about it too much -
Just hold that baby tight against your shoulder and lean into it and you shouldnt need the recoil(sissy)pad. I fouldn that a good stance or positioning of the gun makes you shoot better and recoil doesnt effect as much

If a registered member reregisters does he win? Only 3 more to go -
I just called the TR generation hotline and they claim 0 units from 12 midnight to 12 midnight. On another thread someone said generation all day. Is there somewhere else that has the generation prjections? I looked at the link Phil put up the other night and couldnt find the projected units just what they have been running. Am I over looking something or just reading the graphs worng?

I know that I just had to have a standard to start with. I have no doubt about your abilitys. I would be in the lower section of bait fisherman for trout no doubt about it, heck Im probally one of the worst fly fisherman too. Just to clear things up the only fisherman I look down on is the poachers(I baitfish quite a bit for crappie and cats)

It seems to me that I was not ment to go fishing at all down there. I have just canceled my 5th trip down there this yr. I finaly get the green light from the wife and they decide to run water the whole time. I might as well sell off all my stuff.

Can a person wade fish with two units above outlet 1 or anywhere else on the upper section
-
If a guy were to come down there tomorrow the 21st is there going to plenty of wade fishing going on or they going to run generators all day like they have been the last couple days. I was planning on comeing down and fishing wed and thurs but if generators are running theres no since in makeing the long drive. another thing does anyone know where to get wind forcast for wed and thurs

I'm not against bait fisng at all, it has its place. Lets just say you are among the best bait fisherman out there(not caus you say so lets just say you are). In a earlier post you said said that you only deep hook one out of ten trout, that equals a 10% mortality rate for the best bait fisherman out there. Now lets say the best the best bait fisherman consist of the top 20% of the type. The next catagory consist of the average bait fisherman (lets say 30% of te bait fisherman) and they deep hook between 2 to 5 of 10 trout. Thats between 20 and 50 percent mortality. Now the last class of bait fisherman that dont care, dont know how, or kids deep hook between 5 and 10 trout. Thats 50 to 100 percent mortality. Most of the people that bait fish are going to fall into the middle I think, so I think an average mortality rate for all bait fishing would be fair between 35 and 40 percent. I have now problem with bait fishing as long as you keep what you catch then quit. Trout are not as strong as bass, cats, or crappie and more likely to die just from a long fight as well as a deep hook will kill them. What I think is that bait fishing should be limited to the parks and city lakes that stock in the winters.

Hang on there laker you cant duel or call out people in these two professions they have rights too you know. Just because it is illegal and nobody likes to happen to them it is an esential part of our economic system for this to go on (take from tose who have and give to those who dont have or have yet) and is OK as long as it doesnt the government. These people have every right and more than you and me(assumeing you are not a thief or a terriost). There is no need to give them grief and or punishment because our government thrives on these people. This is was my attempt to a little hurmorous I really dont belive all that crap I say string them up after water boarding them

A Few Questions About Trout Fishing
soggyfeet replied to OzarkFishman's topic in General Flyfishing Topics
The $50 would depend on the type of rod you will be useing. If your useing the spinning gear little cleos, small rapelas, the smallest jigs you can cast and even some of the streamers that the fly guys use. I catch more fish on small jigs and sculpins than anything else but thats just me. Others will swear by midges and the other tine flys I just cant seem to get the tine hook set. -
Dont wear anything cotton nest to your body. I wear underarmor tops and bottoms with wool socks and one or two fleece pullovers and maybe a breathable windbreaker. usually the underarmor bottoms are enough for me to stay warm low. I also have fleece fingerless gloves that can be made into mittens.
