I agree a person needs to be careful while driving. The areas that these deer were almost hit were in areas that they are hit all the time and I was traveling at a lower speed because of the history of these areas. I think if I was driving at the posted speed limit a few would have been hit. I have the most problem around Longview Lake area on Raytown rd(this is in the KC area). As far as I know there is no hunting of any kind in this area. Some places have special hunts but I have never heard of of such hunts in this area. Maybe they think the cars are takeing care of the herd and that is good enough.

Look on the side of the road sometime? How many deer do you see or blood spatters on the highway that take up a whole lane for twenty yds? I dont belive these come from opossums. I dont belive there is a crisis but I do think that there are too many deer in Mo at this time. I'm not as conceerned with crop damage as I'm not a farmer but I am concerned with hitting one on the road. I myself have almost hit 7 in the last two months alone. Granted it is getting into the rut season but with the ones I'm almost hitting and the ones I see already hit that tells me there are too many. I wont hardly let my wife drive at night with the kids in her car because I'm affraid she will hit one. Hiting a deer in my truck would do serious damage but it would total my wifes car and who knows what to her and the kids.

Hey Jon I from the KC area too and would love to get into the walleye but never have. I hear that Hillsdale lake has a real good population but like I said I never found them. I dont have a boat either thou so I stuck on the bank with sonar or finder or clue. What I might sugest is if you are going to go down south to learn about Walleye go a little bit further to Greers Ferry thats supposed to be a great Walley lake. And when you learn how to catch them let me know. LOL

I'm pretty sure the state park just on the other side of the dam (south side) you can put up tents. I have never camped there so I dont know what they charge. With a little internet work you might be able to find their site(or someone on here might know it)

I'm planning on comeing down for this shindig but who knows if I will make it. I havent made it down there since Feb.(usually I'll make a run down there every six weeks or so) so I am due for a trip. If I come down there I'll bring something.

Ok I get your point ranger and you are probally right that everyone that would have been interested in the toury lives in or around the Ozarks and knew what you were talking about. But as for me, I dont live in the Ozarks and am trying to learn everything thing I can about the lakes down there on here. I live in the Kansas City area so I am not real familiar with all the areas in the Ozarks. Your member number is 7,722 so there are a bunch of people that dont live in the area that are members here and a bunch more that arent members that read these threads so chances are the more info you can give on something like that the better turn out you will have from this board. And on a side note you dont need to be offended if Lilly calls you "Bud" he doesnt mean any harm, he would delete a post before calling anyone names.(Trust me he has edited a few of mine that had some names in them)

Ok but when you say open tourney seems to me like some nontourney fisherman might be interested. If I were you I'd want a bunch of nontourney fisherman to increase the purse. I dont fish tourneys yet but would like to get into them one day, I guess theres a whole bunch of lingo I need to learn first. And maybe a little more agressive attitude.

Thom, Phil put a end to the political talk so it is safe to post now. You might want to watch posting anything about keeping legal fish because that seems to get guys a little riled up.

I'd say break it up into sections like you did for the fishing. Bow, Rifle, Blackpowder, etc. And then topics according to game such as varmit, foul, large game,exotic and others. Maybe another topic on gear and tech. All depending on how many topics you want to add. I'm just guessing but I think deer would be the most used so to split it up into sections would make it easier to search.

Read again. No where in the does it say relations between consenting adults is worse than what foley did. I dont see anything wrong with going around and getting these people registered and going to pick them up on election day if they need a ride. If you belive that Bush started this war by himself you might want to think about that again. If I remember right there was a vote for the war after info was recovered stateing the dangers of Iraq. Dems and Reps both voted for it. Now I suppose that you will say Bush lied, if so where is the empeachment hearings? I know the Dems are acheing to impeach him(they would try if they thought he was takeing too many breaths) As for lieing under oath I know that criminals do it (oh wait no one in prison is guilty right) to try and save their butts. So why would Clinton lie under oath. You say Bill isnt the only one to lie about sex, probally not. But how many have lied about it under oath stareing at the country he is supposed to be running? That man (if you can call him that) sat there and lied to your face and yet people still defend him, I dont undertand. If we find out that Bush has made up some lies then he sould be delt with as well. The war was started because intel said their was a huge risk in Iraq. Saddam wanted us to belive he had nukes. If you want to blame anyone for the war In Iraq blame Saddam. Not Bush if it was his fault he would have been out of office by now and we still wouldnt be over there.

I dont have the permit and dont know much about it but I think it cost about $100 or so. I'm thinking that 100 bucks spent ahead of time would be better than getting checked by a agent not haveing the permit with the fines and not to mention possiable ruining the rest of your fishing day sitting in the pokey. I dont have a problem with what did not that I condone that kind of shelfish behavior. the problem I have with that is the office in which it happened(not that it hasnt been done before) and the fact that he was too yellow-bellied to admitt it even after it had been proven. The things that go on behind the doors of the oval office its not particually my business but when they leave that office and become public and the highest official in the land lies under oath what kind of example is that? How does that look to foregin countries when the man will lie to his whole nation? Why would anyone of them belive him again?(if they did in the first place)

Dont worry tho as long as the Dems are around there wont be too much pressure on the criminals. jdmidwest stole some of me thunder so this might be repetive I don’t know how everyone else reads this but to me looks like that if no one dies it is Ok to bomb buildings. Looks as if some people did die. (Which is alright I guess since death is Ok if it’s for some domestic protest but if it’s for national security and the protection of OUR freedom it’s not OK). If it weren’t for the military fighting for freedom for us then William Ayers wouldn’t have had the right to blow those buildings I guess, maybe the Dems are right Bush is wrong for fighting for us just to have some left wing nut use his freedom of expression against us. We should just the Dems take over everything so that their New World Order can start falling into place. What are we thinking that freedom is all that great and all? Heck who knows when the Dems get into power we might not have the right to discuss this on internet or anywhere for that matter(Socialism is like that you know, they make sound so good then WHAM what do you know we are know the United States of Cuba Why is there the double standard? Why is it OK for a terrorist to kill and target police and government buildings and not OK for a terrorist to protect children? That seems kind of backwards to me. It also pushes me to believe that the Dems promote and defend lawless actions with no repercussions which is why I have chosen to not vote Dem until they hold people accountable for their actions, which is totally against the Dem credo. Just wait the first thing the Dems will abolish is the “charge of reckless abandonment” that way they won’t be living outside the law.
