If you listen carefully he says everyone in one speach and only those makeing under 250k in the other. I dont know about all you guys but I dont make over 250k so this is a good thing thing for me either way reight? I wonder how all of our employers will think about this being as they are the ones footing the bill. I can already see my job comeing to an end. Hopefully with all these min. wage jobs Obama is going to start is going to work cause I'm going to need about 12 of them.

Several people on here have said not to listen to the TV, radio, or the newspapers, but to listen to the canidates them selves. One thing everyone needs to remember is that listining to the canidates is probally the worst source of information. They will tell you what the voters want to hear. If you really want to know who to vote for (and it looks like alot of people have plenty of time on their hands) go look at both canidates voteing record for the duration of their time in congress. That will tell you where they stand. I understand that McCain has been there for 20 or so years so it will take awhile but obama only has a few months under his belt and shouldnt take to long.

Can any of the Obama supporters tell me which tax plan he wants to follow. One day he says no one earning under 250k will get a tax increase and then nest he says nobody, and I (obama) mean nobody in the U.S. will have a tax increase.

I was looking at the DO levels and saw that there was a sharp drop off and then it came back up as soon as it went down. What would cause this and is it important?

I think the 24" limit is a good one. As far as stringers go I haven't seen but a few allthough I only fish the upper end. The few that i have seen I dont think they knew the regs. cause when I told them the bait they were useing was illegal they left without their fish. I belive that when you buy you license you should have to sign something stateing you will read and KNOW the regs for the body of water you fish. That way they cant say they didnt know as an excuse. If caught you lose your license for the year and if caught again 5yrs. Another thought I had is to put a length limit on the lower end and maybe this would save the MDC from raising as many fish freeing up so money for a full time agent on the water from March through November. If people knew that there was a full time agent on a lake that small might stop some of the poaching. (There might be a full time agent on Tany I dont know, I've never been checked). Another thought is to make it a pay lake where you dont have to buy the trout stamp but you pay a yearly fee for the use of the lake at 20 bucks and a daily for 10 bucks. Property owners in the Tany county or along the lake shouldnt have to pay.

Chief it doesnt matter to me if he is a muslim or not, Im not the one voteing for him. A canadiates religous backgound is not what I vote on. I want someone in office that wont take crap off other countries. I dont think Obama is that person. Americas ecomony is not just state side its global. I dont want a president that will wet his pants talking to China, Russia, or Iran(who we will be dealing with shortly along with Korea).
-
Asking someone to prove that someone is muslim is like asking you to prove that he isnt. There is no way to know unless he says so and he has said both. Anyway if he was a muslim would it make a difference in your(chief greybear) vote. If not then it does matter if so you might want to find out for sure before voteing because you COULD be disapointed.

Politicians dont run for office to better the country, state, or city for the most part. These are people that are power hungry and only want to get in the history books(more so in this election than others). McCain has allready made history and should be in the books. Obama will for ever be in the books if he is elected and I belive that might be his only goal of CHANGE. I dont need to go look up infomation on McCain he has been around for ever and knows DC. Obama evidently knows people in his party or they are just useing him as a puppet. Biden is the same as McCain hes been in DC for ever and knows how things work. Palin is a fresh look for people because we havent been looking at her for the last 1 1/2yr. I think the bottom line here on this forum is everyone has thier views and no one is going to change them. I dont know anyone who wants to admit that they support the wrong canidate and swich sides and for the most part you arnt voteing canidates anyway most people vote party lines. Only the true independents vote canidates. Personally I am going republican this yr after voteing dmeocrat in the last two elections. Being a union carpenter we are pushed the democrat way. I think the Unions have gone to far and have caused so much of the inflation of today. I think the republicans will try to govern more by people takeing responsibility for their oun actions and not haveing the gov bail them out. I think all kinds of gov programs should be cut FEMA, welfare, and unemployment to name a few. I think we need a sociaty where the people take care of themselves and let the Gov fight the crime and deal with other nations. Today everyone is just looking out for themselves and not the greater good of the people. I think McCain fits this better than Obama at this time. If Obama wants to change things he needs to stay in the senate vote something besides presant and come up with bills that would better our country. The presidancy is a figure head position for forigen countrys. I ust heard today that NATO was basically endorcing Obama. With all the problems we have had with NATO I wonder why they would endorce him. (NATO is like France their flag should be white)

Suggestion For Campground Near Kc
soggyfeet replied to podum's topic in Lodging, Camping, Kayaking and Caoneing
The problem with most of the rivers that are floatable in Mo. is they are not very G rated. I dont know if they have calmed down yet or not with school back in session. My best luck has been on the elk but i have heard that one is getting bad too. -
Hank I hope by small state you meen population wise cause by no means is alaska small. And I would expect that with their commercial fishing, oil industry, and tourisam they have a pretty substancial bank account to match 50%(guessing) of the other states.

Why is it that so many democrates or so full of hate? I see it and hear it every day. They dont want to do anything but protest and make a seen. Im not saying all or even the magority but it seems that you see this type more from the dems than anyone else. My guess is that these are the people that think this country owes them something.

Sounds like CNN is now on the fence

Suggestion For Campground Near Kc
soggyfeet replied to podum's topic in Lodging, Camping, Kayaking and Caoneing
Well hello neighbor I'm in Leawood. With a little further drive you can hit the Elk. The great thing about that drive is its straight down 71 but its about 3 1/2 hours. Kozy Kamp is right off the Highway so none of those winding roads. Maybe this time of year the roudy crouds are gone on all the rivers. Good Luck -
Look at that we can talk politics and fishing.

We the people of the jury find the challenger Palin to be guilty of being the the best nominee for vice president.

Hour or two from where? I dont know of any streams locally but north you have Smithville lake and to the South you have Hillsdale Lake and to the west Perry and Clinton lakes. All about an hour from downtown. -
"I respect your opinion and would appreciate some verifiable proof that Obama has had relationships and connections with terrorists and hate mongers (the William Ayres thing was discounted earlier on a different thread). If you have proof, my viewpoint of him may change. " Terrorist is questionable but hate monger for sure is Mr. Wright. I will not call him reverand because a man of the cloth regardless of faith does not lead people in that manor. I am not what you would call a religous person but I respect most reigions. I get most of my views by thinking of what is RIGHT, it may not be the most economical or convenient for me at the time (if the situations were to arise) but what is best outcome for all in the long run. I belive that too many people think the elections are about them. Thats not the case politics is not about you or me but about all of us and what is best for everyone. Takeing care of those weak or unable is a nessasity but at the same time we need to stop the people that take advantage of the system. There are too many people out there that want something for nothing or think the government owes them something. Both parties are guilty of swooning the different groups of people in this country just for votes nowing all to well that the only thing that will be done is to throw them a bone every now and then. Every four years it starts all over again. Four years from now we will all be haveing the same conversations with at least one different name. But a few things stay the same; we will have our own views on topics (be it selfish or for the greater good), we will still only have two legimate choices for president. The one thing I wish is the ones that should run for president wont because they dont want to deal with this mad house of a political process. Where is the Powell/Rice ticket

Obama does have some guts though, he is supposed to be on the O'rielly Factor tomorrow night during the McCain speech. Its funny how the only time the left wing will interview with a network or person that will ask them real questions is in the middle of McCains speach.

I would just like to think the Admins. for allowing the the political discussions. I know that if I were out fishing my fishing buddy and me would be talking politics. Hopefully we will all keep it clean and civil. Just remember it could be worse we could live in China.

I agree that the defence was looking a little on the weak side. I'm just hopeing it was because of the spread offence Ill ran(very hard to defend). I was very pleased with the amount of running yards Ill totaled 81. Those all came in the second half.

Ok lets look at some of these issues this way(if this is not where the moderators want this to go let me know, I'm not tring to offend just debateing I guess). The gay thing doesnt really bother me. I dont know why they would want to call it marriage though. Marriage came about to join one man one woman together in a religious sence. Most religous people I know dont think same sex marriage is religous. Some one chooseing to be gay you cant control I dont care if its genetic or a disorder its just not natural according to religion(marriage). Why dont they get a power of attorney and get a common law marraige that way they could visit one another in the hosipital, pay alimoney, and all the other things they go with a LEGAL marriage. Just because they can get married doesnt mean more people will respect them.(thats what I think they want) But I could be wrong. Intelligent design Im not going to get into, that subject is way to emotional for too many people. And another one you will not chage their minds. Abortion to me doesnt make sence in most cases. There are so many forms of control out there today that unwanted pregnancys should not be a problem. My opinion is this; if a person male or female has a unwanted pregnancy evidently their self control wanst enough, the low cost of birth control was too great, and adoption is too embarassing then they arent responsible enough to be doing the task. There for I say fine get your abortion ONCE, but while the doc is takieing care of that he should take care of tieing the tubes also. Dont give them the chance to kill again. (If its the males choice as well then he too should be fixed). I just dont think it is fair if a person kills a woman and her unborn child in a car wreck he/she is not charged with one count of murder/manslaughter its two counts. If abortion is okay then that doesnt make since. Fuel is another big issue. there have been rumors for years that big oil companies, auto manufactuers, and maybe some others have bought up the patents to ideas for cars that dont need oil to burn. If this is the case the patents need to be striped and sold to the highest bidder. Buying something and keeping it away from the public when it could change the world for the better needs to by out there and not hidden. These are some of my toughts on the A FEW issues brought up and my vote goes to the canadiate that comes closest.

Isnt the values and views of the average American what the elections are supposed to be about. There wouldnt be issues if there weren't any values. And if the US didn't have morality we would be just another third world country. Do we really want a country were a person can steal, kill, rape, abuse and just do anything thing that fits their fancy? I dont think so, we need morality to keep a civilized country. Look South America, Mideast, Eastern europe, and Afica to name a few. No morality = chaos. Thats why we have elections is to put different people in power every eight yrs to put this country on a better track. But if they dont do their job we have the power to kick them out. I've had several people say they dont want the government to tell them what is moral and what isnt. I agree the people of tis country tell us that. If you or me do something that you wouldnt want tell people about it probally isnt moral. Im not saying there needs to be laws against it but there needs to regulations to keep people from doing it. Stiffer actions against first time offenders is a good start. No slap on the wrist, hit them hard the first time. One problem I see with our government is if their is a good law that needs to be passed to do good for the majority is trumped by some piggbacking law that only helps a few and is bad or restrictive for the rest of us causeing the needed issue not to be taken care of. The two party system is broken and something needs to be done to fix it so the country may move forward instead of this stalemate we seem to be in now. I know this topic was not brought up for this discussion but it seems these political topics always seem to drift.

Al I am by no means trying to insult you or anyone else on this forum. But when a person that is running for PRESIDENT and he votes to leave our troops high and dry that doesnt impress me at all. I'll agree that the guy is one hell of a speaker its a good thing hes not a car salesman or we would all own four cars each. My issue is the troops. I didnt vote for Bush either time but I will suppourt his actions. The war was voted on and at frist the majority of the nation was for it. Now alot of the country has flipfloped. Some people die and they dont want it anymore (what did these people think war is, a video game). I'm not a war monger but heres the way I see it; we were there we pulled out before things were done. Now we are there again and again the democrates want to pull out again before things are taken care of. I just dont understand why they vote for something but not follow through. As a political person they should stick with their votes (as Obama has done) and help the situation instead of second guessing risking the lives of Americans. So my problem isnt with Obama as much as the donkey party. They seem so concerned about lives but they want to cut funding to the troops and promote abortion(which is a whole other topic). To me its almost like the donkeys want to protect third world countries, people who cant take responsibality for their actions, and animals. Im an independent usually but the last few years the democratic party has gome way too far towards the radical side ( I wont even say left cause it doesnt do it justice). This election is different from the last two. Obama is a good caniadate but needs a few terms under his belt to get to were he thinks he is. Its more heated it seems this year cause the last two elections the democrats didnt even have a canadate(Kerrry and Gore dont count). I just want what is best for this country not for myself. McCain may not be that but to me he is the better choice. When we see a caniadate come around that makes people responsible for their actions and not give them frees handouts hopeing to get votes or allowing the the border gates to stay down letting anyone that wants come in and do what ever they like legal or illegal; THAT IS WHEN WE WLL HAVE CHANGE

I think Obama has a vision for America and he can lead the majority of Americans to a brighter future. I thought it was a great day for the USA when a man of color received the nomination for presidency of the USA. All politicians have skeletons, faults, etc. but I place Obama in the same light as WJ Clinton. An everyday enlightened man from humble beginnings who can inspire ordinary people because he's been in their shoes. Obama is a leader. I can not see how anyone can truly want an unproven untested hockey mom as a potential leader of the USA. She'll be a bigger puppet than our current president. First off she is not running for president. So you cant compare these two. But saying she is unproven untested hocky mom is funny. She is GOVERNOR of a state that is almost half the size of the US. Obama is in the senate by default and hasnt spent any time there except to vote agaist this country. I didnt like the idea of haveing the Clintons back in office but if it it would have been better to have a canadate like Hillary that has a pair. Obama is weak.
